    Awesome video! I'll definitely get one for my new bike once I receive it.
    Some constructive criticism (really): You may want to look into stabilizing your handheld shots in the future. I *never* had any issues with camera shake, but it was kinda hard to focus on the product or installation when the camera was shaking so much 😅

    Got the threadless option and not happy with it tbh. You're stuck with the small capsule and you have to punch out the star nut anyway so get the threaded version. What oneup needs to do is make a long and large storage capsule that is the same length as the whole tool plus large capsule so we can either put it in the their pumps or steerer tube.

    The EDC tool with the large storage container will fit in the Fox38 fork with the elliptical steerer tube.
    All you have to do is sand the large container to remove some material and then finish off with some fine wet and dry to achieve a nice finish.
    However, the bottom plug won’t fit, but I cut my bottom plug just so it inserts into the bottom of the fork, just so it keeps out most of the crud.

    Very well put together video that showcases all the current one up edc products and non-experts being able to install them.
    I'm deciding between the Threadless and threaded.
    1. I have a cap at the bottom of my fork that hides an airtag. Would I still be able to use either one of them, particularly the Threadless capsule?
    2. Does the Threadless carrier add that much noticeable weight compared to the threaded? I'm not a weight junkie but would only mind if I can feel the weight difference while riding

    Hey there Paul, love your videos with this, another great one✌👌, btw I am rocking the v1 EDC, to bad it's not compatible with the v2. Could I ask for a small thing that would help me out on a buying decision on the oneup carbon handlebars. So the thing is that I have a tubeless handlebar insert tool from lezyne that doesn't fit in my current sq lab 30x bars(just a hair thickness to tight). So I'm on the lookout for new bars and the one up's tick all the boxes and they would go great with my v1 EDC tool. Could you please measure the internal diameter of the oneup carbon handlebar ends, the minimum I would need to fit would be 17,9mm. Best regards

    Would try fitting the EDC V1 on my road bike. Has a carbon sterer and it's closed from the bottom allready. The One Up thread tap should work fine with that carbon sterer. Will have to try soon and if anyone has any ideas please comment below.

    Paul can you show us how to use the quick link splitter (not the chain breaker) please. I can't get it to work on SRAM power links.
    Also, what's the rubber star shaped washer for in the tool packaging?

    • @superstar999100
      @superstar999100 3 роки тому +1

      The rubber star shaped washer is for the Fox38 fork with elliptical steerer tube and holds the tool in place to stop rattling as the bottom plug won’t fit elliptical steerer tube of Fox38.

  • @sherwood30

    What do you think about the one up edc stem because I want to hold a c02 without having to tap threads into my steerer tube and the threadless carrier doesn’t hold c02

  • @martinhayes5087

    might be worth adding that threading your steerer tube voids your forks warranty

    • @singletracktrucker

      Not actually a true statement across all brands

    • @PaulThePunter
      @PaulThePunter  3 роки тому +3

      This is the official word here - “Threading your steerer tube is easy to do with the EDC Tap, it does not void your fork warranty and it's the only way to run the V2 EDC Tool on some Fox 38 forks.”

    • @martinhayes5087
      @martinhayes5087 3 роки тому +5

      @@PaulThePunter copied directly from Ridefox.com website. "Except for the FOX 40, all FOX forks have a crown/steerer/upper tube assembly. These parts are pressed together (in the case of the FOX 40, the lower crown and steerer are pressed together) in a one-time, precision press-fit operation. Replacement of any of these parts requires a completely new assembly. Do not attempt to remove or replace the steerer or upper tubes independently of the crown. Do not attempt to add threads to the threadless steerers. Modifying the crown/steerer/upper tube assembly as described here can cause the rider to lose control of the bicycle resulting in serious or fatal injuries."

    • @-tr0n
      @-tr0n 3 роки тому +1

      @@martinhayes5087 I highly doubt they will void the warranty unless you somehow managed to break the steerer. It's like warranty on a new car, If I add custom suspension, they'll still warranty the engine.

    Hey Paul. One quick question. I recently upgraded my fork and bought it used. So it already had a star nut. Currently I have 2 inches above my stem that I have not cut down. Any recommendations if I wanted to go with the the one up lite tool. In terms of. Would you bang your star but in , then trim down your steerer tube and then bang the star nut in again for the proper length for the one up tool component install?
    I noticed in the video some people like that kid at the end have a super long steerer tube. Would you cut yours down first?
    I hate having to much excess. I feel like it could be a good place to hit your face on if you were to have a bad crash.
    Great video! Cheers,
    Jess

    One up tool is perfect for me, expect one deal breaker which has kept me from buying it. They have the ability to attach a c02 cartridge, but no inflator adaptor! If you screw on a C02 cartridge it removes the ability to use the storage container that could be used for an inflator.
