I have owed a P 240 Memoir for a few years. I purchased it from Amazon, of all places, with a guilt certificate I received and surprisingly it was great right out of the box. It is extremely playable with a wonderful feel and sound. I am a finger style player and find the guitar thoroughly enjoyable to play. At the time I purchased the P 240 my “other” guitar was a Martin 000 28 EC. I found myself gravitating toward Guild, there is just something about a 12 fret that calls to me. Even though the P 240 did not have the depth of tone of the Martin it just felt better in my hands if that makes sense. After playing the P 240 for about a year I sold the Martin and bought a Taylor 612 CE so now I have two 22 fret acoustics which I thoroughly enjoy. I continue to play the P 240 almost every day. I think the P 240 offer fantastic value for money.
Glad you talk about parlors. Got an Art & Lutherie (Godin) Roadhouse Series (Tennessee Red). Parlors are unique and louder than people think, and not designed for just the blues. Thanks Chris and Cooper! 🎶🎶🎶
I have this guitar and love it. I've put it up for sale a couple of times but always take it back down again because I know I will miss it. It's always my go-to around the house.
Parlor's are fun. I play a Modern copy of Ditson parlor with pyramid bridge and lutz top (rest in peace Mario DeCasua) but only on special occasions. It allows musical expression on gloomy days when the stock market corrects, or I get a negative google review. It has a melancholy vibe and blues moan that matches the mood. Cooper, thanks for showing that these guys can thrive with enthusiastic picking as well as finger style.
I too am a fan of parlor guitars. My 0-18 is the one that always sits beside me on the couch. That sounded better in my head. It sits in a stand beside me 🎸
Think these Memoir series are awesome from Guild. But this parlor is excellent for a spruce top. I love an all mahogany dry sound but I dig this one. I'm thinking about buying one at the end of the year. I can't wait. Alvarez makes a cool slotted head all mahogany too and it's not only a beauty but sounds wonderful.
I recently picked up one of these after looking for an around the camp site replacement for my L-00. Originally was going to go with a G-00 but doing a side by side between it and this Guild, the guild sounded better and more like the loo than the goo did. It also had better fret work which I wasn't expecting at all over a Gibson.
Frankly an excellent little Parlor. With a sound of the fire of God! Manufacturing issue, nothing to complain about. It's great. I also used it for the recording of my first album. The Guild P240 is a safe bet for its price. I equipped this Parlor guitar with a Fishman pickup.

Agree on the boxy sound but where that guitar really shines is strumming. Great balance and tone. I've heard solid body parlor guitars costing more than double that don't sound nearly as good.
Parlor is fingerpickin' good for me. This model ticks a lot of boxes. I hope it's made better than my Guild Westerly 12-string was. I've gone with Alvarez now. Nice demo & review, chaps.
My Taylor Academy 12N kind of fits this parlor guitar idea. It is also 12 frets but is, of course, nylon string. You didn't mention whether this guild has back bracing but I think I saw some in the vid. The Taylor 12N doesn't and the back really moves and creates a lot of sound... particularly low notes not often heard in smaller guitars.
Truly appreciate the time you guys take to make these videos. Big fan of both you guys' picking style. I'm an intermediate player. Is there a program you can recommend to help learn picking?
Great review! I love slotted headstocks. I see that you have a Martin 000-15sm in stock. Can we get a Cooper demo and review while you have one? Thanks!
looks and sounds a bit like the classical guitar strung with steelstrings that I used to learn and play on, but with a narrower neck. Been searching for years for something like this.
I swear, I wish I had grown up around Blues Grass music like this so that I could really play an acoustic the way their meant to be played. Instead, I grew up on Mutley Crud..
It sounds okay, but I believe that a Canadian Art & Lutherie Roadhouse has a much better tone in all directions: clearer, better resonance, more bluesy,
Didn't George Harrison play a parlour guitar in Michelle? I'm sure he did. Here's the video title where you can see it: MICHELLE - THE BEATLES ( COVER )
Fingerstyle territory - in other words, any kind of music. There's only what you can play and music you can't play - it's all music. Have a listen to Devon Geyer on the Guild You Tube channel.

Not looking for a new guitar "today", but I always enjoy tuning in to your demos. The playing is top notch!
I have this guitar and love it. I've put it up for sale a couple of times but always take it back down again because I know I will miss it. It's always my go-to around the house.
My go-to is a bus stop.
This video couldn't have come at a better time! I've been dying to pick up a parlor guitar and this is definitely something I'll be considering 😎

I just picked one of these up on reverb back in February - I love it perfect little couch, song writing guy! As always great video guys thanks!

THE SOUND IS GREAT.CONGRATULATIONS
Thanks for this video🎸
You guys do a great job!
Very thorough, informative, and funny (sometimes)😅.
Cooper's playing 🏆
You cover it ALL! 🎶🎸
McKee has always done excellent reviews. He's the best.
I love the sound of this. Great playing!
I would think Cooper's parlor would be rocking. And his wife might just like to listen (or sing). Thanks, Cooper and Chris

Love this little Guild......great sound ! 👍👍👍
Sweet! Cooper, you always make $500 guitars sound like a million bucks! Perfect ol’ blues guit box!

Sounds great, I love the slot head stock and 1-3/4” nut! I have bigger hands and like the room on the fretboard. I’ve got to check one out!
Best acoustic I ever owned was a 12 fret Recording King 000. This Guild looks almost identical. May have to grab one.
This guitar seems to compliment Cooper’s playing style more than just about any other guitar I’ve heard him play.
I want to learn that finger pickin blues piece....that was really cool
I bought mine like two years ago, love it. I was really amazed at the low string action and the overall sound and resonance. My favorite guitar.
Agree on the boxy sound but where that guitar really shines is strumming. Great balance and tone. I've heard solid body parlor guitars costing more than double that don't sound nearly as good.
great insights. very helpful.

THAT is a great little guitar!
Love Guilds. Love parlor guitars. This is win win. Great presenters as well!
good video guys! Thank you..
Have you done a review on the p250e?
Another good video from Batman and the Jokester.😄

Nice playing Cooper! I almost hear some Jerry Reed in there on a couple of licks. The guitar looks nice, but sounds a little thin to me.

Fingerstyles Milestones🎸🎶🏆
Great review! I love slotted headstocks. I see that you have a Martin 000-15sm in stock. Can we get a Cooper demo and review while you have one? Thanks!
Laminated sides and back. Solid wood top.
How does this compare to the Alvarez artist AP66 in the same price range? i know the Alvarez is Mahogany and 14 frets, but just in general?
If I could pay half that good I buy this Guild as a reward to myself.
Are you guys going to do another review on the new 14 fret memoir?
looks and sounds a bit like the classical guitar strung with steelstrings that I used to learn and play on, but with a narrower neck. Been searching for years for something like this.
Nice. Your thoughts on the Kala Solid Cedar Top Parlor Guitar?
I swear, I wish I had grown up around Blues Grass music like this so that I could really play an acoustic the way their meant to be played.
Instead, I grew up on Mutley Crud..
You guys should have bobblehead dolls with you playing a Taylor.
I'd buy 1
I would buy 2!
@@njgroene LoL
I like it!
guys I would love to see if you can make a compression between MARTIN, TAYLOR, and COLLINGS Acoustic Guitar
Please can you do a parlor comparisson?? Fender, guild etc
What kind of condenser mic is that?
Hey,what do you thing about p240 vs jr000 martin?
How come the yamaha L series does not have scalloped tops??
Your thumbnails are art
Is this a parlor guitar? Or a concert size?
Oh?, Is this guitar a brace less archback parlor guitar? I know Guild makes most of their guitars with archbacks like Taylor
How does it compare to the Yamaha CSF1M?
Whats the lower bout width?
What case fits these?
Why don't you carry crafter guitars
It sounds okay, but I believe that a Canadian Art & Lutherie Roadhouse has a much better tone in all directions: clearer, better resonance, more bluesy,
I love Art & Lutheries. Do they build them with cedar tops?
@@Lalairu yes

Try silk and steel strings on it

My Big Baby was 299.99 when I boght it, its my couch guitar.
Parlor guitars are getting louder and there are more makers 2024 - I wouldn't know, only playing a long time. Too long.
These thumbnails are getting out of control 😂
Dinky 🤔🤔🤣🤣🤣
