This is super advanced. Thanks for taking the time to make such an educational and informative video. Though I am currently not able to fully grasp the content, this video earns a bookmark that I'm sure I'll review it some time in the future. Much love and thanks!
Excellent work! I was struggling with "who goes first" when exchanging signatures and revocation keys within a channel, and this did an excellent job of explaining who and why. Thanks so much!
Wow! This is so much more complicated than I initially thought when watching Tadge Dryja on the MIT OpenCourseWare 13. Payment Channels and Lightning Network. Really appreciate the work you're doing, so I'll show that with a lightning payment!
This is by far the best example of how the lightening network works. That ive ever saw. Wow. Would you be interested in coming on the show for an interview. This is my smaller channel with 7.5k but my main channel has 90k
Great video ! Thanks a lot for this ! I have a few quick doubts: 1. The number of signatures required is number of HTLCs + 1. In this case do you mean "number of HTLC updates"? 2. In the routing payment demonstrated @23:20, after right to left passes of hash, can't Alice cheat by not doing the payment to Bob? and it's a loss for Bob as he already paid to the successor in the route.
1. No it is the number of HTLC in the commitment transaction ! 2. Alice cannot not do the payment .... because it is already made ! If Alice refuses to update the state of channel to remove the HTLC that pay Bob and reflect that he has more coins in the channel, then Bob MUST publish the transaction with the HTLC and he can claim the funds directly on-chain using P. Alice cannot do anything to prevent him from doing it because she must wait a time that Bob doesn't.
Thanks for your work. Appreciate it. In your opinion, what’s your conclusion regarding bitcoin lightning and the new taproot technology? Is there still a role for defi and smart contract cryptos like cardano and ethereum? Or does bitcoin lightning and taproot provide the foundations for everything to be built on bitcoin?
Taproot makes RGB much easier to implement and use safely. RGB extends smart contract capabilities a lot, it can match ETH. For inifite scaling of such programmable layer we need anyprevout soft fork too however (BIP 118)
I just started investing in the cryptocurrency market recently, can anyone help me recommend a cryptocurrency with a reputable background and low price?
There's no such thing as a "low price" with crypto. You can put in a as much as you please cause it's practically infinitely divisible. What you should focus on is the tokenomics of each coin & what infrastructure they have built for it. Bitcoin is the safest bet & most likely will be for the foreseeable future, but expose yourself to some other cryptos if you please. Buy an amount you're comfortable with, *never use leverage,* & hold for a few years at the very least if you wish to see any gains lol. Ignore short-term volatility. Expand your time horizon. Don't get caught up in altcoin scams & nfts.
Lightning still has some niche use cases, but I'd say it's totally overrated! In my opinion the best thing Lightning is good for is testing your understanding of Bitcoin Script and computer science!
Thanks!

This is an amazing video. Thank you so much for your hard work putting it together. Really helpful.
Awesome work! You just forgot the link to the tip via LN, but I found in the shorter video
Thank you!
Too bad that I can't give this double thumbs-ups!
Bro you might be the one of those who developed Bitcoin.
Really liked this video. Thanks.

You're right it is crazy, it is crazy to think that they did all this without knowing they have just created bitcoin transactions with third parties.

Ha, you wouldn't be the only one that thinks that! Im not sure the major hurdles like inbound liquidity have been solved since making this video.
Thanks!
