@@SurvivalRussia 3 years ago we had -44c , that was the coldest I ever saw where I live. Usually it doesn't get colder than -35c in the winter, and it does not stay that cold for long. I went camping once when it was -33c. We had a canvas army tent with a wood stove in it and we slept on cots. The tent was set up a few days before we stayed there so the ground was dry and it was surprisingly comfortable in there. We would only wear t-shirts in the tent it was so warm. But that was more "luxury" winter camping where we set it up before hand to be comfortable, not like what you do where you grab a tent and some food and go out to the bush.

BOOTS
Ever since I started working construction in northern Saskatchewan, I've been wearing boots like these. They're rated to -40 C, but can handle -50 C with an extra pair of socks and sweat wicking 'booties'. They are steel toed, steel shanked, and steel reinforced from the ankle up the sides of the boot. Awesome work boots for snow, water, & mud. Great for concrete work too...just an all around useful work boot.
A lot of us U.S. people can't or don't/won't, just eat fat cured or cooked, unless crispy.
Crispy fat is no bueno....toxins.

I found this channel about 10 years ago because I was researching Silky saws, and have watched almost every video since. I❤Lars, but you have to get more Ms. SR on! You are awesome, but as a longtime married man I want to see you pair up soon. Children first, but get Grandma to watch the kids. Plus she is much easier on the eyes😂.

I have the up 2 and love it. I’ve tested it in winter and just did a week long summer trip with it. Will be camping in winter this season. (Very excited about that). I’ve yet to see anyone use the included vestibule. Though. It was great for me to have a covered porch area. And in winter I’m thinking it’s a great place to store all the wood for the stove. Just wondering why I haven’t seen anyone set that part of the tent up yet on UA-cam.

Was that the UP2 tent, or the UP5 tent? If I recall correctly I think you have both... (Or that might be Lonnie and Connie from "Far north Bushcraft and survival" that have both). It's hard to tell with the wide angle lens that you might have been using.

You need a one man sled camper pulled by a snowmobile, no set up just stop and enjoy.

Oh man you forgot to bring black bread, pickled cucumber, green onions and 100g's of the fire water. That's how one properly enjoys salo.

@@paddor Salo is popular food item in Russia, Ukraine and Belarussia. It is Salted Pork Fat.
People smear it on bread like butter and put chopped Onions on it. Usually eaten with a shot of Liquor.
Also note that Lars warned us never to drink alcohol when in the forest.
The last thing you want to be is Drunk in the middle of a Forest.
@@ANukeWithLegsBooze is optional of course. The bread at least is mandatory imo, you don't eat salo as is like fried bacon, just seemed a bit weird.

@paddor Salo is pork fat preserved with some salt or in brine. Usually some spices like pepper and bay leaf. Usually anyone has its own recipe for it. Helps a lot cause of its Vitamins, especially in wintertime with shortage on fresh vegetables.
