"Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening" is a poem written in 1922 by Robert Frost, and published in 1923 in his New Hampshire volume. Imagery, personification, and repetition are prominent in the work. In a letter to Louis Untermeyer, Frost called it "my best bid for remembrance"
On the surface, this poem is simplicity itself. The speaker is stopping by some woods on a snowy evening. He or she takes in the lovely scene in near-silence, is tempted to stay longer, but acknowledges the pull of obligations and the considerable distance yet to be traveled before he or she can rest for the night
Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening
BY ROBERT FROST
Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.
My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.
He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound’s the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.
The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

Perfect sir. Nothing more to say. My favorite poem since childhood. Im 47. A war veteran. This is priceless. You've taken me back to the woods, snow, I'f I only knew how many miles to go before I sleep. I have a brain injury and never sleep. I listen to this and dream of the woods.
Wait what? You mean you never sleep?
🤲
Bro our prayers are all with you you will be alright and get blessed soon
I too am a veteran, 43. I find myself saying miles to go before I sleep whenever I have something to accomplish. I will never quit. I will never accept defeat. I will accomplish my task.
I pray for healing from insomnia and for healing of your brain injury in Jesus Holy Name. God Bless You!
And miles to go before I sleep !!
I've loved this poem since childhood. I interpret it as having a mission or cause to complete, though tired and weary.
👍
These few lines keep me alive.
Same!!
This poem has very deep meaning....those people who read it carefully can understand the inner meaning of this poem...It touches my soul whenever I read it... I lost myself in another world of feelings .... 🥰
YeH i understand
This is perfect! The music, the animation, the reading, all of it beautifully displays Frost's wonderful poem. Thank you!
Thank you so much for the kind words!! Most people just like to point out it’s a sledge not a single horse. I however, love the image of it.
I love the poet Robert Frost and his poems. I thank you for making the awesome animation , lyrics and for showing me the meaning of this lovely and wonderful poem.
My 4th grade teacher introduced me to this poem! I still remember her teaching me about this poem.
That’s awesome!! Thank you for comment!
Marvellous my friend. What a treat to watch it was. It captures the hidden desire to be lost in the woods and the reluctance to move forward unlike the summaries which ask the man to be wary of the imaginative.
Thank you friend!!!
@@DirArronQuinn Could you please consider doing 'I am' by John Clare?

Really heart touching poem
❤️ since childhood........
Dreams
Truly heart touching
Created so beautifully...
I think this is the first time I'm starting to understand why some people interpret it as something about suicide
It’s grim but beautiful. Like all his works.
😊
@@DirArronQuinn I'd like to believe it conveys the human predicament of being amidst nature. Being a part of nature. Yet being somehow unable to experience a natural life. And having been forced by his own wonderful creativity to live an unnatural, artificial life !!
The dichotomy is that you cannot deny that iPhones and laptops aren't useful. At the same time you can not deny that today the average human is almost completely cut off from nature !! Look at the kids !! They don't play in a playground any more, the playgrounds are haunted with the laughter of our generation back when we were kids !!
What
Well, you’d be wrong in interpreting it that way
And i love this poem
When I watch this video I lose out my emotions
My all-time favorite poem. Thank you so much.
And miles to go before I sleep
And miles to go before I sleep

Phenomenal! You are such a talent. I use your videos in my classroom and they have been well received. I would be very interested to see how your style of animation and narration would be reflected in Walter de la Mare's 'The Listeners'.
I’ll definitely love to take that one on!!
@UC3hW-mZHdiQeclfxwX3lkCQ who wrote this ugly piece of poem with worst music and recitation

Superb! I've been thinking to make something similar in the future however I conduct changing the narrative and makes it in a christmas night in woods close to the village where the speaker can hear villagers celebrating and the horse with buggy as there's a long journey to the unknown
My favourite poem really heart touching
Same!
Frost wrote this beautiful poem in 1922 in the few moments when he took a break, watching the sunrise, after spending the night writing 'New Hampshire,' a very long poem.
Wowwwww
A good poem by Robert Frost

Can someone help me with a word? I can't find any to praise this masterpiece
Great job on this, I really enjoyed it.
Robert Frost has always been one of my favorite poets and this poem has always spoken to me. Just yesterday I started my own UA-cam channel where I recite famous poems, and some of my originals, and my first poem that's up is by Robert Frost; Nothing Gold Can Stay.
I animated that one too!
Great work, absolutely fabulous
Thank you so much!!

I’m glad you’re watching this in school!!
My Mother passed away in September, 2012 after long illness. She was only 69. She had been a caregiver to my Dad with M.S. all her life, married at age 19.
Their life was hard, filled with many challenges, and she took on more than anyone should.
In the end, it led to her premature death due to putting everyone else before herself, and not addressing underlying health conditions.
This poem sure fit her life, and it it's a sad one, but a reminder of the importance of self-care, and how obligations and responsibilities can overshadow and overcome an individual's life.
She chose this poem to be read at her memorial service.
I’m sorry for your lost. I’m happy this was made to help you.
It is awesome animation
Beautiful and I definitely didn't cry... OK maybe I cried a little but its just too well made not to

Hi!!
I have read this poem in class 5 CBSE
THEME::
Appreciation of nature is the main theme. This picturesque Poem describes the Poet personal experience of winter night. The speaker is drawn the beauty and allure of the woods, which represent nature .It has been exquisitely rendered that emotions on a winter night are different than a usual mood.
Not me watching and doing work on this in the 4th grade
