    Those notes on the last one sound amazing, but I trust your judgement. Thanks for the review xx

    I just tried these the other day but they sent me the high notes instead of the deep vibes set. Love Santal Piano. One of the rare sandalwoods that don’t smell sour to me! The Darbouka is great too!

    Thank you, Thomas. I've only tried "Electro Limonade" from this company and, yes, that's exactly my opinion: I found the perfume too simple. I can only guess that the targeted audience is the one not really into fragrances but who still wants to spray something easy-going.

    Thanks for the review. I was looking at this brand, a bit sceptical about the concept to execution

    Great reviews but their best fragrance is Piano Santal. A very creamy and lactonic sandalwood. One of my favorite sandalwood perfumes ever.

    Thanks for the review! You haven’t reviewed many perfumes of brand Memo Paris.
    Can you do a spotlight on them please?

      I would actually love to, I wonder if they have a sample discovery kit?

      On their website they have a discovery set with 8 different scents and also separate samples.
      My favorites are Lalibella and Winterpalace.

    Thomas - I know you are a TRUE perfume connoisseur - I THINK I really enjoy the note of opoponax - Zoologists Squid has it (which I own and love) and you mentioned JusBox Use Abuse recently - Can you suggest say 5 fragrances that feature this note? xoxox

    • @ouch110
      @ouch110  3 роки тому +2

      My perfume!! haha Faun. But also Eau Lente by Diptyque has a lot of opoponax in the drydown, ya have to get through a bunch of cinnamon first though!

      @@ouch110 Oh SNAP! Thomas...I never even read your note list!!! I'm sorry! Now - be HONEST - Is the jasmine an indolic jasmine? (I know you love an indolic jasmine) I can't do indoles...To my nose it comes off...Not very nice...But, if its a fresher, lighter jasmine or blended very well - Everything else in Faun sounds incredible! I would buy it for sure!!!

    • @ouch110
      @ouch110  3 роки тому +1

      @@sarawilliams5464 haha, no it’s not an indolic Jasmine in faun. It had a white flowery feel but there’s much more going in. It’s green and foresty with white flowers, but when it dries is reveals ambery notes and sandalwood and sweetness. It’s kinda complex! To me it’s a bit vintage, with green and floral and then turns oriental :)

      Hi Sara, wow Opoponax! What an unexpected, somewhat obscure note you're hunting down on the olfactory tundra. If you like the resinous side of Opoponax rather than it's ability to offer discreet support (note: it's in Dior's original 'Poison' but in that formula it's like an uncredited extra, lost to the glamourous and far more obnoxious starring actors of plum, tuberose etc) then may I suggest you try Maison de Parfum Berry's 'Ambre 35'? On the way home from the boutique or department store, please do pop into a Diptyque counter and treat yourself to their unbelievably gorgeous 'Opoponax' candle. I love it. The cold throw is but a tantalising clue as to where you'll be heading later that evening; it's the warm throw that is really impressive-- it's very strongly scented but smooth and gorgeous. I'm horribly fussy with candles and it does freak me out a little to know that there's no way of knowing how a candle will burn and how pungent the fragrance will be until you take that expensive gamble and just buy it. Buying a candle that is expensive but poor quality is so angering. I rate Diptyque, JoLoves (try 'The Beaumont' if you like these amber-y, resinous warm fragrances), Tom Ford and Byredo ('Bibliotheque' is my favourite). I'm all ears to hear from people who have spent a king's ransom trying out high-end, extremely well made candles. I have no idea what other brands will be worth shelling out that kind of money for and so that's what I'M searching for at the moment :D. Hope my recommendation helps. Love to know what you love at the moment. Bye! :)

      @@ciganyweaverandherperiwink6293 I think I realized what the particular scent of opoponax was in Emeraude by Coty (a smell my mother is fond of and wears often) but Squid was a real winner for me with its crazy, zangy, spicy opening that dries down into something cloudlike and sweet (because of the sweet myrrh)...I also have Chanel's Coco Mademoiselle - although that one isn't my favorite because I prefer more interesting and esoteric fragrances...Many of your suggestions sound amazing! Thank You for the suggestions...xox

    That sounds so disappointing!!!!! The second brand alresdy that calls a perfume flamenco when they obviously have not the faintest clue about the music. Maybe the perfumes are good but if they use the musical theme just to boost the sales that to me personally is offputting. Love the buttercups!

    Oh dude, if you're after something at the other end of the spectrum, something of theirs that is not so simple and 'transparent' then try not to sneeze when snorting up a wrist's worth of 'Bouquet Encore'. It's tuberose and Sichuan pepper. Very strange. Not my cup of tea but I shall keep my sample size vial snug in ye olde antique storage box in case there's ever an unexpected invite or occasion that calls for me to pull out the vintage couture and the 'Big Guns' in my fragrance collection. It's offensive and you'd have to be welcoming of confrontation as a person. I'm combat-averse but who knows, some excitingly novel 'bad mood' might overtake my normally very congenial disposition one sexy, sultry evening. It's more punk rock than goth, this one. Very loud 1950's femme fatale. You'd have to be drinking cocktails in a dark, smoky jazz club to wear this. Or angry. If I'm in an ornery mood for no rational reason I might spray this whilst growling at nothing.
