First time I travelled US-160 and over Wolf Creek Pass was 1968 and it was all two-lane. It was my first car camping trip out west with my folks when I was 15. For a flatlander from the southeast it was jaw-droppingly spectacular. Travelled this route many times since 2005 and I never tire of the drive and the scenery but the beetle killoff is really discouraging. Thanks for a great video.

Captivating! Well-coordinated scenery with the music. Leave narrative texts up longer in future productions. Thanks, Kyle.

I love this drive - was fortunate enough to do it myself in June 2021. (My friend in Farmington, NM highly suggested it.)

Drove this on the way back home from Telluride last Thanksgiving. You picked a great time to film it. Great background music too!

We took this route to telluride from pueblo in summer of 2021. One of my longest drive i ever experience.

I’d love to drive this in the summer, and see how it compares to the fall when I drove it.

Good job on the remix. A beautiful drive. The locals do pronounce Del Norte as "Del Nort". At least they did when I lived in the SLV. Buena Vista is another one. "Buena" rhymes with "tuna" up there.

The non-Spanish pronunciation of Buena Vista is supposed to allow for repeated sounds when you say Beautiful /byoo-nuh/ Vista … It makes my ears bleed knowing the Spanish pronunciation, but I figure the locals can decide however they want to call the place they live.

This is a beautiful drive. I make this drive about every other year with a group of college students. Always fun to stop at the pass to discuss the continental divide and river drainage patterns. Thanks for the video!

You reminded me that I also need to re-edit my WCP video (it too was sped up much to fast... Because the music was fast). I also made a statement that I need to clarify about descending WCP and how I usually don't regaurd it as being that dangerous... It IS that dangerous. But, I can't do it, though. I've misplaced the SD card it was captured on... Maybe it'll turn up some day in some unusual place, who knows? Excellent re-mix, Kyle. We may be in the general area this Summer if things pan out to my advantage.

Thank you Dan! I might be in SW Colorado sometime in June this year if plans workout. Nothing is set in stone yet however. It is a beautiful area of the state and the Million Dollar Highway is high on my bucket list!

Really spectacular scenery and you couldn’t have picked a better day. That low angle autumn morning sun really made the tree colors “pop.” First time I drove it was going westbound. So as you said, when you see the Pagosa valley it is one of the best views in America. Really enjoyed this.

I found that sign in Del Norte saying "Rio Grande River" amusing - like "ATM Machine" or "Ko Chang Island"

I thought the same thing! Really unnecessary repetitiveness! In New Mexico it just days Rio Grande when you cross it which is perfect lol.

Excellent video - I've passed through that stretch of road a few times. If I might make a suggestion; in South Fork, you passed an intersection with Colorado 149, which heads roughly northwest out of the town to Creede and eventually Lake City. It would make an excellent video in its own right.

CO 149 is also known as the Silver Thread Scenic Byway for its mining history. My impression from driving it in October 2021 is that it can be tedious if you don’t take advantage of the few places to stop at Creede and Lake City. Definitely a less-developed corridor with great scenery.
If you want to make a loop, I’d recommend CO 114 between Gunnison and Saguache. It seems a much easier drive - grades on both sides of North Cochetopa Pass are pretty gentle, and the tightest curves aren’t at the pass but at the canyon about 10 miles south of US 50.
The Million Dollar Highway (US 550 north of Durango) is also impressive. If you’re driving southbound, south of Ouray, the steep drop-off is on your side. I found that a bit unnerving, but there wasn’t much left of the drop-off. CO 62 over the Dallas Divide is an easier drive between Montrose and Durango - which is why it and CO 145 (via Telluride) are how Bustang Outrider is routed.
Another suggestion for a scenic Colorado highway is CO 65 aka the Grand Mesa Scenic Byway a little north of Montrose. Grand Mesa was where I first saw actual columbines blooming (Independence Day weekend), despite having lived in Colorado for about 20 years.
Oh, also, Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park is an overlooked gem. I’d recommend the East Portal on the south side/rim.

I must say that I rather like the music from Epidemic Sound. (So far) I haven't found it boring or repetitive at all. Good job with the video - and the scenery was awesome. (I hope to eventually escape the southeast and move out west somewhere.)

Hello, I live in Pagosa Springs and your video was interesting but it didn’t show how the view is spectacular. You can’t see how the foothills are right in town and if you had come from the opposite way the view of the valley, the waterfall and the forest would have been seen. Plus it’s not as open as your video shows. With that being said I would like to say thank you for including our little community.🙂

Good one, and the fall colors made it a pleasant drive.I wouldn't mind this one if I was going to/from Mesa Verde NP. Don't knock that one town of 1,500 folks for having a Wal-Mart: beats driving who knows how many hours to the nearest one.... I noticed on the eastbound drive up the pass a lot of dead/dying trees: this Creek Fire (CA, 2020) veteran knows CalFire and USFS guys who'd be appalled at that fuel just standing there-literally.

Thank you Matt! Those fires back in 2020 and 2021 were horrible! Luckily last year wasn’t so bad and with all the rain and snow this year it looks like it won’t be bad this year either.
