i spent 3 months there myself in 2014, i was given excellent care and never received a bill, I was told that the Lions Club of Nevada pays the bills for burn survivors.
Well, she died so.... I hope she had good care and loved ones around her for her final days here on Earth. I had my life saved by UMC in 2003. I'm happy to hear of your successful recovery and of that program that left you without huge medical bills! That's a miracle.

I do ok for someone that doesn't go outside during the day very often.
Grafted shin doesn't sweet so I get heat stroke easily , if I go out I have things that cover my arms, legs and neck because most of my skin has been grafted.
I was a chef before the fire but now I cant work between the heat of the kitchen and the lack of dexterity and strength of my hands.
Don't get me wrong, being in the burn ward was a horrible experience, but the care I got eas great.
I'm glad to hear umc saved you and hope life was able to return to normal for you afterwards .
@Biden-SUCKS548 Omg! And you live here in the desert? That must be extra difficult since we have so much heat and sun! When you do venture out would carrying a mister around with you help keep you cool? I have lived here for decades and I carry around a mister bottle and really is so hot here in the summer unless I'm sitting in a pool in the shade it's miserable but no different really than hibernating from the cold in winter months in some other states. No perfect place.. I'm so sorry you suffered through such a painful, long-lasting experience., but you're here for a reason and that's a blessing. And yes, Biden sucks. 😊

Yes I live in Vegas, Its really not that bad. Most years its 2 months a year I don't go outside during the day but the night's are typically ok, my body does best with a temperature between 80 and 93 degrees so most would think my house is hot at 85 but it's perfect for me. Cold is a bigger issue Im freezing below 77.

If it helps any, they always say "Don't seek that which makes you comfortable, seek that which gets you out of your comfort". Guess you can say you succeeded at that. . and proved what a ridiculous saying that is. sigh.... Health challenges such as yours are so difficult because they don't end. I hope that one day they can do skin grafts that retain skins ability to function as designed. It could happen. Been here since the early 80's I was in my late teens and starred in The Penthouse Pet Pet Review at the Marina hotel that the MGM literally built around, they never tore it down. Fun fact.

From 2000 the income was 29k and at 7.9% your mortgage was 750 monthly. From 2008~2019 the annual pay was 59k annually with even lower Apr to buy a home so the total use of income in those two periods was only 29% which was easy and cars and rents and homes were still 135k ~ in 2020 homes jumped to 480k with a 59k annual earning at low Apr but double the price or triple 135, jumped 472k for a home and inflation is high everything from groceries to cars cost way more and you are already spending 49% of income on a home in the 135k your down payment was 22k today and 700 monthly mortgage insurance included. 29k annual pay ~ today 472k down payment of 82k will take your monthly payment to 2,800 monthly. That’s just your home price what about the high grocery prices and everything being more expensive cars fuel electricity that will easily add past 49% of earned income ~ but you are still only earning 59k hope that makes sense to you?
