@@onestage146 well in fairness...the comment I replied to said she will be missed by the "entire court" which implies 100% of people will miss her. That is definitely not true. I can acknowledge she was ONCE one of the best... she's an embarrassment now and should have retired 5 years ago. Tired of her getting all the attention when she's likely not even a top 100 player anymore. That is all.

Clearly Serena Williams is the Goat, albeit Margaret Court has one more Major title major than Serena.
There are other factors to consider when speaking of the GOAT in women's tennis and for me Steffi Graf and Martina Navratilova, at their best would beat Margaret at hers, as would Chris Evert and Billy Jean King.
At her best, Serena beats them all, as in her era she had genuine competition from so many quarters, to an extent, her sister Venus aided her drive for greatness.
If Serena wants to make her family, she has this last hurrah, as age has no sympathy for a female's choices of when to raise a family.
Today the competition does not get easier, its younger, faster, lighter, ambitious and growing.
Salute to all tennis lovers, as Cricket has its issues also, ergo who was better Sachin Tendulker, who holds the record for tons, or Brian Lara, who holds the world record for professional County Cricket, 501 NOT OUT & International Test Cricket, 400 NOT OUT!
For me it's Lara, as he achieved the most double tons, 9, compared to Bradman's 12.
Politics forced Lara to retire, on the eve of his happy hunting ground, madness, especially as he vowed to take Don Bradman's record of 12 double tons.
In every era there is usually a best, these days, it becomes a little tricky.
