So after a 5 month wait for the right party and working through our backlog in games... we played Perseverance Episode 1 for the first time... What an incredible game this is. It's combination complexity and fun is mindblowing. Everything infuences everything. There's so many ways to manipulate the game. Especially near the end, it can get really nasty. Defending together, but just letting some dino's breach to crash opponents... A real balancing trick. Simply genious. The production quality is beyond anything I've ever played. This is a piece of art. Bravo Mindclash Games! I'll be collecting Mindclash Galmes going forward :)
Waiting for my shipping notification soon. I like the rewards board better now as it can all happen simultaneous and not being blocked from a specific reward. I love Mindclash and all their games. They always have many decision points through the game and everything is very thematic. Their solo games always play great too. Thank you Paul for this great resource. Episode 2 should be fun.
I just received my game last week, can't wait to play it... Thanks for the tutorial. I can' t imagine starting such a heavy game with only the rulebook :)
Another brilliant video Paul, another game where I was overwhelmed by the amount of components, rules and icons. As ever Paul delivers a brilliant, clear and concise how to play video which and can't wait to play it.
I haven't played this since a TTS match during the KS campaign. I'm going to try and play a 2P game (with my actual copy) with my wife in the next day or so. Thanks for the video!
Absolutely superb video Paul, I’m just learning this game myself and having watched the live Playthroughs and your Solo play through I did miss a few things which you covered in this video. Appreciate the amount of time and effort that must’ve gone into making this, thank you so much.
I played this in Essen and ever since I've been trying to buy it without having to transport the game all the way from the US. I'm still waiting for them to start offering it in the EU so I can immediately buy it!
another pretty solid game from Mindclash and a spectacular tutorial as usual 👍 The game doesn’t quite hit my taste but the design looks pretty brilliant
Hi Paul excellent video as usual! Quick question, i can’t find the answer to this and you dont cover this either : on the player aid under secondary action C and D there is a symbol for an additionnal valor / safeguard. The sumbol is not in the rulebook but specified in the special power Phoenix jas. Thank you!
I don't have the card with me, but I think that just means that you get either 1 valor / 1 safeguard for placing a mini in the defense area (as you normally would for placing a mini there)
Thats the confusin part, in the rulebook under the special power it’s specified that the symbol means +1 val/sg but the same symbol is not covered in the secondary action section. I think this is really a mistake either on tue player aid or rulebook
Great video as always - We were able to watch and then immediately play with minimal use of the rulebook - impressive. One thing we were wondering: What is the purpose of placing the defeated dinosaurs in front of your player mat? They don't appear to affect the attack rewards and, as far as we can tell, aren't used as a tie breaker or really for anything. Why don't they just go straight back to the supply?
Hi, great video! I have two questions after watching it. Can I send my leader to another position in my next turn or he is stuck to the place I put him until the assembly? And what if I assign him to the dino area, does he stay there until end of the game? And the second question. The patrol cards are evaluated after my next turn right? Not in the end of the current one
Leaders placed in the settlement area cannot be moved (unless you have an ability that moves them). Leaders placed in the dinosaur area are returned when a combat in that area is resolved. I THINK I say this in the video somewhere :) As for Patrols, this is explained in the Patrols section of the video - they happen after your secondary action - in the same turn.
HELP - I don't know if there's a better place to post this, but have you played the chronicles expansion? There's a particular set of chronicle cards we don't understand how they work. On the top portion of some chronicle card you place two chronicle tokens indicating you can take that action twice, but then cards like "City Center" show the chronicle token symbol on top of another one. Does this mean you still get to take the action twice, but at the same time? or does it mean it takes two tokens to take that action once?
You state that leaders are removed from defence areas after an attack, but after an assembly they stay where they are. So I'm assuming that they stay in the defence area potentially forever unless an attack is triggered? But they're recalled from the 4 other areas every assembly.
I watched this video twice in a row to confirm my takeaway, and it is this: the game looks like a hot mess. A collection of disjointed resource conversion mechanics that don't seem to cohere into a fun game. Perhaps I'm wrong, perhaps I'm not-we'll see once I receive my copy. But I just basically lost all of my enthusiasm for this.
If you haven't watched Heavy Cardboard or Gaming Rules playthrough I would watch some of those videos to get a better sense of the gameplay. It's a thematic euro so it will have resource conversion but the choices really make the game shine.

This is such a great game, thanks for recording these Paul. I can't wait to play this non-digitally and paint my dinos!
Another super clear video and explanation. Your extra comments are especially useful.
Awesome rules teach. Could not imagine a better job than this.
you’re an absolute behemoth of the gaming space Paul! can’t tell you how much we appreciate you
Thanks so much. I don’t get as many views as the big channels, but it’s good to know the videos are useful to some :)
Excellent video Paul, going to be super helpful as i get it to the table this week. Thanks mate, will be back for part 2 next week :)
Thanks for the video, Paul. Can't wait to play the game.
yes been waiting for this, looking forward for episode 2 and chronicle mode

Thanks for recording these Paul! You doing an awesome job!
We'll play this tomorrow. Thanks for making the first foray into this game that little bit easier, Paul!
Oh man, thank Paul for the explanation. I can't wait for my game to finally arrive. I really need to get this to the table.
Well done, Paul. Can't wait to get this to my table.

Thanks. Hope to catch up with you later this year in person.
Another clear and highly produced instructional video. MCG have another top quality IP to add to their catalogue.

Great timing as it looks like it just being fulfilled from EU ports. Great quality as always.
Thanks, Paul. Great video.

After all those month! Finally!
Great video, thanks for making this!
Thanks for watching. Did you edit the comment, as the email I got about the location of the leaders isn't there now :)
@@GamingRulesVideos Yes, my question got answered while watching part 2 :-)
@@HoloDoc42 Yeah, it is the settlement bonuses which say "place an influence cube on the officer assigned to that zone"
Thanks for the great video can’t wait to get playing now!

Great teaching and commentary as always!
Excited to get my copy! Mindclash makes some really fun and interesting games, and this one seems to be no different.
Looks like a great game, thanks for the teach!
I'm so excited to get my copy (along with Trickerion which is also in the box!)
Amazing thanks !!!
Outstanding video for an outstanding game! Thanks a lot for this. (Un-)patiently waiting for my copy... 🙈
Missed out on the Kickstarter, wish this video had been available then!
hope you manage to get a copy.

Paul, I have chance to get deluxe version for 38 pounds. Worth it? And only two players?
I mean… that’s a very good price. But with 2 players, you do have to control a dummy 3rd player. If that’s not your thing, then no.
Nice thanks

They are used for one of the attack rewards. Number 1 I think which gives points for dinos you defeated in that combat.

Absolutely correct!
Boom!!!
A zone become dangerous after the first attack or after the first breach?
after the first attack

@@codydavis3100 I personally found it quite thematic too. And I play a LOT of games with no theme in them. This one had theme IMO.
When is the next part????
just went live!
