- Bonus 5th track on the re-release of the acoustic Southern Isolation EP from 2001. The band is Stephanie Opal Weinstein (Philip Anselmo's Ex wife GUITARS VOCALS), Philip Anselmo (Down/ Pantera/ Superjoint Ritual etc GUITARS VOCALS), Ross Karpelman (Christ Inversion KEYBOARDS), Sid Montz (Valume Nob DRUMS), and Kevin Bond (Superjoint Ritual). Released in 2001 on Housecore Records. Since Phil and Stepanie's divorce the band has disbanded. Also Rebecca Colclough is credited for additional vocals, she is Phils sister. Stephanie has since said that there are many versions of this song and that it was even considered for the Down II record. Also she says that there are around 40 more tracks yet to be released. She wrote this track on her porch and Philip loved it so much he insisted on singing on it.

Aside from the once in a lifetime, mighty juggernaut that was Pantera, Phil's voice stands on it's own, with all of his projects. The heart, grit and nut satchel this man puts into his vocals are a treasure to the fuckin world! Stephanie is quite a badass herself! Thank you for this gem.
Phil has the most amazing vocal range of any modern artist. Gotta respect that man. Like him or hate him he's succeeded where many others have failed. His music got me through some of the hardest times in my life. When I'm in a funk I'll jam out to some old Pantera or Down and get lost in the music.
With all due respect to Phil, Devin Townsend has the greatest vocal range in metal. Hands down.

Maaaassive range, but not 6 octaves. It's 4 1/2 octaves. The biggest range in heavy music has Mike Patton with a bit more than 6 octaves, and the biggest overall has Dimash with a bit more than 7 octaves (C#1 - A1 - C6 - F#6 - D8)

To this day, having worshipped Pantera so much, I think Southern Isolation is the best contribution Phil Anselmo as a true singer has given to the world. Cemetery Gates and other soft songs shown how much good singer he was, but in this album, he's being more authentic than ever. From time afar, you realize how lucky we were to share same time with Dimebag and Phil, to be touched by their art. Also Damageplan was one hell of a record, almost re-incarnation of Pantera, best album after Far Beyond Driven from the Abott bross

I met you in 2009 at the Spanish Moon in Baton Rouge after a Dax Riggs solo acoustic show. I was with my friend Chris Williams (he and Scott Williams of Soilent Green were first cousins), and a few other friends, and you were with a girl named Nicole, if I'm not mistaken. Anyway... we all hung out for like an hour or so, and I mentioned to you that I had heard a couple of Southern Isolation songs and really liked them, so you got your bag out and handed me an unopened copy of this EP-- I was so ecstatic over that! You also gave Chris an unopened tampon, still in the wrapper! Haha. You were so nice and genuinely cool, and I thoroughly enjoyed getting to hang out with you. I actually still have a few pics of us from that night! I hope all is well with you, and I also hope we'll run into each other again someday. Thanks for being so awesome! ❤️❤️❤️

I'm sorry to hear that. Luckily i have only had to rid people of my life because they made my very existence a living hell after the damage. But I feel that Dime's death was so wrong and ill-conceived. Those concerts are so loud and everyone is thrashing so its hard to be aware of that kind of shit. But now i believe all we can do is let life go on and live every moment like Dime woulda wanted us to. Lucky I live in Texas a couple hours away from his gravesite in Austin,Tx. I have promised that i will visit his grave every chance I get.
Never been to Ozzfest even though i woulda killed to be able to make it back in 00. They even brought Zakk and his dogs onto the stage. As far as concerts now, when Pantera is playing, there should be no crowd control. That's like telling a fish not to swim. But the phones: ECK! it's disgusting that literally almost everyone has their phone out. and the volume issue, I mean that's basically the full point of the adrenaline rush. the music, the dudes, the moshpit, and the volume. it's beautiful really. I'm a huge Pantera fan from way back when CFH first came out. I've never heard this band and several of Phil's other side projects before. Down and Superjoint ritual of course I've heard lots of but this is new to me. I really dig it. Step is also quite great here.
