i dont get the purpose of a catcher. is it just to signal which pitch the pitcher should pitch? genuinely wondering edit: like obviously i know they are also literally there to catch the ball but how does that work? is it bad if they miss the catch? is there a penalty or something? or are they there just to keep the ball from having to constantly be chased and recieved
@@millardfilmore1403 the catcher normally calls pitches unless the coach does but there job is to catch the ball and stop it from getting by them and also to help the pitcher by framing which is basically presenting the ball in a way the umpire thinks it’s a strike

Me and my friends are freshmans now and over the summer we've been grinding and we're about to hit the cages next week. The funny thing is I'm on vacation rn and I'd rather be home grinding
@@maxw8824 He doesn't utilize his lower half enough so his lower half is quicker to the plate than his arm. It's a pretty easy fix with some mechanical work but he's gotta do it soon. Once he gets to college they're gonna work the shit out of him he wont have an elbow left.
