- Toronto's mayor is doubling down on her argument that the Toronto Police budget will be increased this year, despite claims from the Chief and union that there will be cuts. Mark McAllister has more on the numbers involved.
The TPS thinks Toronto has an " unlimited budget " $1.35 billion annual budget and It's not enough?
One day a police gave me a stop sign ticket while he himself was driving on the opposite side of the one way road.

Chow funds the cops like Doug Ford funds Healthcare in Ontario. Funding increases below the rate of inflation so basically cuts.😂😂
Her campaign promises were to make Toronto more affordable, safe and caring.

Cut Police wages,out of control spending-outsourcing like the private sector..Change legislation to make it happen-right across the province.Private sector has taken a bath over the last two decades..

@dubiousdistinction6500 if you take into account of population density and infrastructure already existing it has the highest property tax and the most inefficient spending.

@@boyscout6566 population density? infrastructure? what?..dude, do some research instead of blowing smoke...according to zoocasa (2022) a home assessed at 500k would pay 3159.67 in toronto..in brampton 4903.91, ottawa 5722.83..get it? or do u have zero interest in real facts like most torontonians?
@dubiousdistinction6500 it's you who don't look at the facts. Doubt if you are able to say with a straight face that Brampton has better ESTABLISHED infrastructure than Toronto. And doubt if you ever been in Toronto.

This Woman was my Judge in Youth Court after the TPS locked me and my cousin up for a double GTA....
And heres the coincidence...
the "GTA" means Grand Theft Auto or Car Theft, not the Greater Toronto Area... and the "TPS" Police Detectives that busted us werent from the Toronto Police Service...
it was in a Town of 12,000 People in the Southern Alberta BadLands, in Taber, Alberta. Which is in between Lethbridge and Medicine Hat, and it was the TPS aka "Taber Police Service" with about 30 officers who got us... lol Crazy

We should actually cut the bloated police budget. Police do not prevent crime. There are so many services we could fund, or fund better, which would actually reduce crime and harm in our city.

Everyone knows emergency services are overrated, that is until the wokers that keep cutting these budgets need help. There was a time when police would respond within 5 minutes for ALL calls and 911 would pick up the phone as soon as a call was placed.

Taxing more and more to distribute services equally to everyone.
What SHOULD be done is building a stronger economy and getting increases in taxes through business success.
Overfunding public service workers is a drain and always is the demise of economies.
No free lunch.
@@Ont785 If there is any overfunded public service it's the police, which is why they should take a real and substantial budget cut (100%).
Socialism is not about taxes or paying public servants. Socialism is a political and economic theory which advocates that the means of productions should be owned by the community as a whole.
This is literally the opposite of socialism...
