LYRICS
Don’t know if you’re evil or benign
Said that it was over but you pulled me back in
Perfume mortifying by design
Pleading with myself to never give in again
I’m off meta-cated like I wanted to be
But where the hell is all my energy?
The couch
I dove in it
I think I’ve grown in it
Advice given to the lick the plate clean
And don’t listen to dudes who ain’t me
Code red
Code red
Every time I need to find a way out
There’s only one
Code red
Code red
Every time I need a person I can trust
There’s one
All bags get a crinkled crunch
Trash actin like it wasn’t lunch
Your face is stuffed
No home for the evil skunk
Ass acting like it never stunk
Your face a butt
You look a little light when you’re embarrassed
Bet you always thought you’d get the best of me
How is it still living with your parents?
Damn you really thought you’d get the best of me
I'm all better
I think I’m who I wanted to be
I turned a dream into an enemy
The route
Suspicion
I couldn’t burn bridges
None built to do connecting
And no talking to dudes to ain’t me
Do you even know what it's like to breathe greatness?
Gold eclipsing the words that you say
So close to being a God, I could taste it
I won't stop no matter how long it takes
Profound, enlightening, inspiring, meaningful statement
No one makes its out
Go have a great life

I'm fucking crying, feeling empowered, all while staring at an orange's ass for the past hour. Thank you guys for being my favorite band 15 years running.
That pear needs to twerk
I LOL'd, so true 😂
That sounded like something Jon would write.
Something like "thick ass orange, pear in a bikini, feeling empowered and a little freaky" lol but honestly same. this song gave me chills when I first heard it.
@@bibbumblebee Strawberry wife, happy life, lemon tan, hit the jackpot man
If this is Tilian's last album with DGD, it was fun while it lasted.
He did an outstanding job as a vocalist.
Why would it be his last album
@@AlgaeEater09 He got "Me too'd" onto the bench by some upset women who he allegedly shmexually ashmaulted
@@swerve3031 bruh you make the dgd community shittier if tilian even admitted to fucking up and doing some shady shit so you trying to blame the girl is beyond embarrassing.
Andrew can take over but I doubt since Tillian's only on hiatus.
@@swerve3031 I mean.. did you read the reddit thread. it was a little more than your "uHh AcTuAlLy" take on the situation...
I don't want to say big things so soon, but this record amazed me... Even tho it's more than an hour, it didn't feel like it. It was a fantastic experience. This album contains the best vocal melodies that Tilian has ever created, Jon jumps, once again, over the bar that he set himself, instrumentally, it's beautiful and full of really cool surprises, then add Andrew Wells and his talents to all this and you have something really exciting. There were many parts that made me wanna dance, parts that were just pure fun and parts that made me sad. Jackpot Juicer did not disappoint. It's brilliant!
I couldn't agree more, the entire album so far has been full of bangers that invoke a lot of emotions. I find myself constantly drawing correlations to my own life but also the life of Tim(RIP) in all of the lyrics off this album. 100/10.
I'd say the best vocal melodies that Tilian has ever created are still on Mothership. But that's just my opinion.
This is the most beautiful album they've ever created. Everything about it feels so soulful and melodic to me.
@@CloudPlays444 Mothership was definitely when i came around to Tilian as the clean vocalist.
yeah riserecords amazed me too
This is Tilians best work. He really outdid himself on this album. It’s also Tim and Matt’s best work to date.
Agreed. I'm a Jon Mess fanboy and was not a huge fan of Tilian, to be honest. He was peak on this album. Genuinely enjoyable to listen to the entire time.
I have to say though, for me this was the album where Matt took a backseat. Not to say it was bad. I believe Mingus is the most underrated and underappreciated aspect of DGD. I still think DBM1 was his best work. The ends of his fills hit so damn hard, and the fluttery bass kicks just kept such a nice driving energy. Every single hit on the bells of the cymbals was crystal clear... Damn that was such a good album.
Jackpot Juicer feels a culmination of all the albums from the Tilian era. I hope it’s not the end of the band with Tilian and I really hope he gets the help he needs but even if the band moves on without him at least we will always have this last goddamn banger of an album that is Jackpot Juicer! Rip Tim❤️
he's not going to be in the band anymore. the allegations against him are too severe to keep him in the band or rather him not wanting to stay and sully the band's name. DGD has been through so much shit and I think this is the worst of it all. Like, even Jonny Craig's shit was bad but nothing involving sexual allegations towards him. Just a bunch of drug and money shit that he has since dealt with and made amends for. If it turns out that these allegations towards Tilian are falsified bullshit then hopefully he'll come back/let back into the band.
He'll stay. They would lose a TON of fans if he goes. Maybe not if they replaced him with Kurt, but either way I dont feel great about kicking someone out over allegations and the only evidence being he said/she said. With that being said, there are only a couple people who actually know what went on so a lot of consideration needs to be taken
at this point Tillian should either go to court and defend his name or leave
@@Lusc1nt He didnt exactly deny it haha, think hes long past defending his name, an innocent person doesn't go to therapy for something they didn't do. Hope he gets replaced
@@Grasfh he went to therapy for alcohol not for anything he allegedly did especially when even the woman said it was consensual and just butthurt he didn’t want to make her his girl
I really love the meaning behind this song, at least what I get from the lyrics. It’s like a “welcome the the real world” message. I love the ending, it’s like a sarcastic “profound…meaningful statement” just to say “no one makes it out, go have a great life” it’s like don’t judge me, life is messy, go live your own life. A lot of people need this kind of advice, myself included.
I love the games they play with their lyrics. Little breadcrumbs for you to pick up on, at least those who can see it. I agree completely with your analysis
It’s basically “fuck all the beautiful words and poetic cliches. Bottom line we’re all gonna die go and live life don’t stress about things out of your control”
There's something about Andrew Wells' voice in this song that had me blubbering helplessly, just something about that guy 🥺
my husband started to cry when the album finished, he said "the last track sounds me like a farewell for some reason, but im happy cuz they will be always my favorite band and been my best friends for so many years that i wish them a great life too"🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
I had the exact same feeling 🥺🥰
Does to me too. Listen to cringe and the last 2 songs on album. If all this woulda happened when mothership dropped we would be saying this about man of the year.
It definitely hit me like Evaporate did on Artificial Selection, but far more bittersweet, for some reason. :(
He cried? Was it the profound enlightening inspiring meaningful statement?
Have A Great Life? This album is the only thing making that seem possible.
Best song to end of the album with. This album is probably one of the best albums from DGD and this year too! One of the most greatly anticipated albums of all time!!! R.I.P Tim Feerick have a great life up there in heaven and thank you for making this the best album of your career with DGD and thank you to DGD too for this greatly awesome album I had ever enjoyed listening too.
This is the most beautiful album DGD has ever created.
Shout out to the man, the Mess, the legend.... Jon Mess on this album... HE WENT HARD on so many songs and his flow was borderline rapping at times
Ironically (or maybe not) I found the ending to be quite a profound, enlightening, inspiring meaningful statement.
I'm a newer listener. Synergy was the first song I ever heard and it wasn't even on purpose. But it was good enough that I decided to check out some other releases. This is the first album I listened to start to finish.
I'm severely impressed. I look forward to listening to more.
Now you should start with Downtown Battle Mountain (or even the very first EP album, but it's much lower quality than everything else), and work your way through each album until you reach this one again. That way you can hear the progression of the band throughout the years, and hear the different eras with each vocalist they've had (Jonny Craig, then Kurt Travis 🖤, then Jonny again, then finally Tilian. Also Will Swan, their lead guitarist and main composer does the screaming on Happiness while Kurt Travis sings and that's widely considered to be one of their very best albums, if not their absolute best. Kurt is my personal favorite out of all their vocalists. He's on the self-titled album, Happiness, and features on one song from Artificial Selection. But Tilian and Jonny are also both incredible singers.)
Go immediately to mothership, downtown battle mountain and acceptance speech albums as fast as u can! Enjoy!
People hate on whatever i say is royal ocean, their first album but it's good to look at how this band started and the harshness of the quality just adds flavor
Mothership is their best album
That was me two years ago when Spotify randomly shuffled me to "Chucky vs. The Giant Tortoise" from their Mothership album. They have been my favourite band since then and this, to me, is their greatest album to date!
10/10 album, boys. Calling it: album of the year. Love the vocal melodies, the screaming, the gutair noodling, the fluid rhythm section, etc.
Have a Great Life.
3:05 WHAT IS THAT NOOOOOTE
I missed these ridiculous screamy highs on Afterburner... They were the reason Mothership is my fav DGD Album, and Jackpot Juicer comes closer and closer to spot #2 now... Just absolute insanity
Whats crazier is I think that its Andrew.
Just finished the album! Amazing work. Thank you again guys for your hard work and dedication. RIP Tim.
Andrew is given the best verses of every song
What an absolutely insane closer to a gigantic album... This is the best ending I've ever heard from DGD. Will should've joined in the end vocals!
Evaporate is one of my favorite album closers along with Perfect on DTBM2. I definitely wish we could of had more of Wells vocals on this album, everytime he came in it made me want more from him!
Imagine if all four were exchanging vocals. Damn
i think nothing will ever top out man of the year there a few close but jeez. This song grew on me didnt like it as much at first.
Nah. Pretty trash.
@@johnnyrings1813 objectively wrong
The album holds up man 2:30 to the end still gives me goosebumps
What an album for Tim to go out on. Such a talented individual. #FeerickForever
I love you Andrew Wells! Thank you! 💕
This album made my year.
Absolutely ✨
I could listen to the last minute of this song on a loop for eternity
Woah... that Andrew note is so jarring and piercing, in a good way.
This album sound like their old stuff mixed with the newer sound. I love it!
Best ‘outro’ of maybe any album ever..
So is nobody gonna talk about how Andrew just gave Tilian a run for his money on that last note 😳😳
I love that he’s officially in the band. Good things do happen sometimes.
I always thought twas Tilian mixed in? Not gonna say no way but I think Chris mixed Tilian in for that last note 😅
@@taylorbankston5300 After listening to the isolated vocals version of this song, it sounds like it's all Andrew, the little bit of grit in the voice is what I finally picked up and realized and I don't hear any of Tilians sort of rough highs like from Here Comes the Winner or Inspire the Liars.
It was definitely a pleasant surprise nonetheless 🙏
@@kenniboii192yeah I’m pretty certain that was all Andrew
The most underrated song ever made. Just like Into the sunset was GREATNESS at the end of Afterburner. HAVE A GREAT LIFE!
Remembered this album came out a day before my 21st birthday so I listened to it and at midnight tonight this is the song that played on my birthday so it’ll be forever engraved with me
If things unfortunately don’t end up going the way I want with Tillian, I think this bands future is in good hands with the third vocalist here.
Andrew's voice towards the end is like crack... Officially obsessed 😭💕
Kinda reminds me of the dude from I the mighty
@@dylanmoeller7741 or the dude from Eidola
@@dylanmoeller7741 Andrew sound nothing like Brent Walsh imo.
@@erthquake9038 Not sure if you were fooling, but that is the dude from Eidola.
Stop. Andrew wells vocals are corny as hell.
I totally forgot this came out today, hell yeah !
This album is their best work since mothership. Diidnt try any weird shit like they did in afterburner, stuck to their melodies and harmonies and amazing guitars as always. Also the most lyrically intense album since ARSE imo.
This song should be play on DGD concert, Tilian is amazing in this song. Welcome Back Tili :)
This is amazing. Andrew's part is so smooth!
Cheers to the fact that we're not dead y tener la oportunidad de escuchar este maravilloso álbum ❤️
I feel like a lot of dgd fans have troubles with racing thoughts. This band perfectly matches that feeling and gets us to truly clear and listening to every instrument/vocal. What a fantastic album. So lucky to have our favorite band still putting out bangers almost 20 years later
Dude no joke all of their albums have only kept me going because of how my anxiety likes to act up. The way every song just bounces around keeps me grounded it’s actually really great rhythm to keep calm with
Them and the mars Volta
ADHD the band was one of the best descriptions I've ever heard of DGD
@@jacksonjohnson854 must be why I like them so much. I relate to the lyrics so much.
Goosebumps.

honestly can’t wait for the next album l o l

That last line in the song legit gave me chills. Amazing close to a great album

Una joyita de álbum, uno de los mejores de la banda. Todos los temas brillan a su manera... las voces, la instrumental y las letras son asombrosas. Larga vida a Dance Gavin Dance.
LETS GO!!!
It’s hard to even describe how this album makes me feel every thing about it is pretty much perfect
I’m so lost in how amazing this is
I knew it would be but damn this is even better than I anticipated! (:
Thank You DGD for this and all your music
This may just be the best album you have ever done 🍓🤖💜
I really don’t know where i stand with this album. I’m not sure if it’s because its early in the morning and Im half asleep or what but I’m really 50/50 on this album for some reason. I really enjoyed the early released songs from this album the most and I think they were the most rememberable to me. From the past releases before this album, I knew within the first listen which songs Id have on nonstop replay but this album has me scratching my head trying to figure out why I dont like it as much as the previous releases. I think I enjoyed some of the newer released songs enough to try to listen through them again but man I wish I could truly understand the hype behind the entirety of this album..
Hands down the best album

Increíble, muchas gracias por no dejar morir el 'género'.
Damn man, the ending gave me chills. This whole album is absolute perfection, as expected from DGD.
I have to hold myself from crying everytime I hear this song and yet it’s been on repeat for the last 3 days 😅
Great album, only thing pissing me off is there r 18 songs and not a single one with Will, really guys? 🤣
Esto es arrrte puro, es hermosoooooo, los amo ❤🔥🍓
The history of this band is so strange how many people have been lost and kicked out. I really thought that this would be them through the rest of the time they were a band. Hearing tillian leave and the bass player die is just so shocking. Because it seemed as if they really were at there perfect stage were they were unstoppable.
Ugh love them so much it hurts ♥️
perfect album
I started crying when I heard andrews outro. God I can’t wait to see what he does with stepping up the lead vocalists.
He won't take over lead vocals.
@@penguin3301 obviously you haven’t been following the band. But Andrew IS taking over lead vocals. I’m seeing them tomorrow and have seen videos of austin Saturday night and Andrew was lead vocals

thought the same!
Swallowed by Eternity should have been the last track. That said, amazing album. Ember, Long Nights in Jail, and Polka Dot Dobbins are my favorites so far
This album is straight up fuckin delightful, and tillian is a goddamn master of his craft. Honestly all these guys are
Their best album since Mothership... No hate to AS or afterburner; i loved them but this album is superb!!!

The beginning really made me think of Tim 💔
I hear it as *"cooooviiidd"*
al principio no me convencio este album con respecto al anterior pero luego de varias escuchas este es sin duda de los mas especiales y de los mejores sin duda
muchas gracias por todo espero que vengan algun dia por latinoamerica

The skunk line lmao... Lyrical genius Jon Mess, everyone
Tilian really went borderline 'for-the-throat' on this one.
Lines that make you think: "Alright then, bro... You're not wrong, but damn..."
I think that's what made me appreciate him more on this album. There were many points where it felt like Tilian was intending to drop a dagger between the ribs. He had some subtle fucking venom to inject this time around.
Alright so first impressions: Very consistent album, a few songs blew me away; Holy Ghost Spirit and Just for theJeers are my favorites, then One Man's Cringe. No skipped songs and that says something. Even DBM 1 +2, Happiness, and Mothership have at least a couple skips. As you can guess those are my favorite DGD albums. Good album that I'm going to need to sit on, re-listen with headphones. I'd rate it 3/5, but Tilian era albums tend to have to grow on me. Compared to their last couple, I'd put it above Afterburner at the same tier as Artificial Selection
Listened to a couple songs and am already liking it more.
feeling the same way here, fav songs are HGS and JFTJ, SBE didn't hype me much, i was expecting more of a breakdown like man of the year.
I am right there with you, it took me a couple albums to come around to Tilian (Mothership being the catalyst) as the clean vocalist. with that being said I do feel like this is one of the most refined albums that DGD has come out with and thats coming from someone thats been jamming DTBM since day one.
DGD always takes a few listens. It's the best album since MOTHERSHIP imo
@@austinrandall1273 Idk if it’ll pass up Mothership or DBM I & II in my rankings. Those are some high bars to pass.
