Surprised that worked with the UV resin as the instruction sheet it came with says it is not recommended to cast UV resin in the finished molds (0:32)... Interesting idea and I will try it with my Oomoo silicone mold maker. Thanks for sharing. :D - Heidi
Yes, it worked really well. I had no issues removing the pieces from the molds. Probably because the layer is very thin and the curing processes didn’t heated the mold very much. I’ll have to try it with larger pieces to see if it will stick to the mold.
Hi! I think they might’ve meant not to make molds out of UV resin pieces. I read somewhere on miniaturesweethk’s mold maker description that making molds out of UV resin pieces won’t allow the silicone to cure properly. Hopefully this helps :)

Can I just ask what uv resin you are using and does it have a bad smell? I've tried three kinds and they all have made me sick and burned my eyes and lungs
Hi Belinda! The UV resin I’m using in this video is from Miniature Sweet (you can find the link to their store in the video description) UV resin always have some smell... some brands have a more intense odor than others. The ones I love the most so far are the UV resins from Sophie and Toffee and Miniature Sweet. I’m waiting to receive the Let’s Resin UV resin and I’ll make a video about it as soon as I receive it :) I have high expectations on this brand. UV resin, when starts the curing process releases smokes (almost imperceptible in most cases) and that can be causing you irritation. Some people are more sensitive and less tolerant than others. When working with this type of products (resin, polymer clay...) is important to do it in a well ventilated area. You can/ should also use protective masks, gloves... and even protective goggles depending on the UV lamp you are using... This is an important topic and I might make a video about it. Safety is important to have a pleasant experience:) Unfortunately not all resin brands have the safety notice on the products... Hope this tips can help...

I have a sakura flower trinket mold that i got from sophie and toffee. Did you happen to get that and did you do a video on it? The lid seems small and gets stuck in the tray, so i was wondering what i was doing wrong.

Would dimensional fabric paint work as well to create the template for the mold? I was thinking the Tulip brand.
a ziplock bag is best when you mix then you can cut a corner and pour slowly

Yes, it’s true. Some silicone mold makers don’t cure properly when we try to reproduce uv resin pieces.
This is another experiment I’ll have to try :)
