Premonitions of later Ligeti; not appreciated amongst the contemporary mafia of the 50s. Nice that this music turns up today. Thanks for posting it.
Lebhafte Interpretation dieser modernen und technisch anspruchsvollen Klaviersonate im polyrhythmischen Tempo mit gut artikuliertem Klang und möglichst effektiver Dynamik. Echt Gänsehaut!
Fantastic piece and performance. I love Lees's metallic sound, and the relentless drive interspersed with delicate haunting melodies. Conti is brilliant.
Un autor desconocido para mí hasta hoy. ¡Gracias por compartirlo con el mundo!
Wonderful work. So well balanced in every aspect
Reminds me a touch of some of Anthiel's piano work in some places
This is nervous, pounding music, but as such shouldn't that quality be more de-emphasized to allow the listener to relax a bit and not be put on edge? johnny.w appreciates this "metallic sound" and "relentless drive" more than I do, but maybe he's right in ascribing this approach to composer Lees rather than pianist Conti. It's enjoyable music in any case however, as Lees' efforts always are. (Do I detect a Gershwin homage at 5:13?)
Thank You
Tiene gran sonoridad
