This is quintessential Neo-Classicism. Delightful and not terribly deep. I owned a copy of this when I was younger and dour, and sold it. A few years on now, I wish I hadn't. A sweet piece.

Klare und wunderschöne Interpretation dieses farbenreichen Meisterwerks im gut phrasierten Tempo mit seidigen Tönen des ausgezeichneten Streichquartetts und milden Tönen des genialen Blasquintetts. Der dritte Satz klingt echt erfreulich und etwas komisch. Die intime und perfekt synchronisierte Miteinanderwirkung zwischen den neun Virtuosen ist immer noch unvergleichlich. Einfach wunderbar!

This is a light, humorous work that only slightly wears thin before its conclusion. Perhaps if it had been trimmed down by a third it would have been more effective.
