Lyrics:
Now we was once two brothas of the same kind
Quick to approach a ghetto cutie with the same line
You was just a little smaller but you still roll
Got stretched to Y.A. and hit the hood swoll
'Member when you had a jheri curl never quite learn
Drinking 90 proof on the roof trippin' off sherm
Collect calls to the till, sayin' how ya changed
Oh you a Muslim now, no more dope games
I just got the phone call, heard you got bail
Wanna go to the Mosque, No time for females
I’m losing touch with my homie he’s a changed man
He hit the pen and now no sinnin' is the game plan
When I say I’m living large, all you see is the struggle
When I say I’m still thugging, all you see is the trouble
Congratulation on the weddin', I hope your wife know
She got a playa for life, and everybody miss ya
I know we grew apart, you probably don’t remember
I used to fiend for your sister, but never did get with her
And I can see us after school, we’d BOMB
On the first playa hatas with the wrong set on
Now the whole things changed, ‘cause we don’t even kick it
Got a big money scheme, and you ain’t even with it
Hmm, knew in my heart you was the same young brotha that
When it’s time for war go toe to toe we’ll watch a brotha’s back
I can’t even lie, 'cause I ain't laughin' at cha
You tryin' hard to maintain, but go ahead
'Cause I ain’t mad at cha
(Hmm, I ain’t mad at cha)
[Hook: Danny Boy]
I ain't, mad, at cha
I ain't mad at cha
I ain't, mad, at cha
[Verse 2: 2Pac]
We used to be like distant cousins, fightin', playin' dozens
Whole neighborhood buzzin', knowin', that we wasn’t
Used to catch us on the roof or behind the stairs
I’m gettin' blitzed and I reminisce on all the times we shared
Besides bumpin' 'n' grindin' wasn’t nothin' on our mind
In time we learned to live a life of crime
Rewind me back, to a place was much too young to know
I caught a felony lovin' the way the guns blow
And even though we seperated, you told me you’d wait
Don’t give nobody my lovin' while I be locked up state
I kiss my Mama goodbye, and wipe the tears from her lonely eyes
Said I’ll return but I gotta fight the fate’s arrived
Don’t shed a tear, 'cause Mama I ain’t happy here
I’m through trial, no more smiles, for a couple years
They got me goin' max, I’m knockin' busters on they backs
In my cell, thinkin', “Hell, I know one day I’ll be back”
But as soon as I touch down
I told my girl I’ll be there, so prepare, to get loved down
My homies wanna kick it, but I’m just laughin' at cha
Y'all play too many games, but I ain’t mad at cha
[Hook: Danny Boy]
I ain't, mad, at cha
I ain't mad at cha
I ain't, mad, at cha
[Verse 3: 2Pac]
Father forgive us for livin' while all my homies stuck in prison
Barely breathin' believin' that the world is a prism
It's like a ghetto we can never leave
A broken rose givin' bloom through the cracks of the concrete
So many other things for us to see
Things to be, our history so full of tragedy and misery
To all my homies never made it home
The dead peers I shed tattooed tears for, when I'm alone
Picture us inside a ghetto heaven, a place to rest
Findin' peace through this land of stress
In my chest I feel pain come in sudden storms
Life full of rain in this game watch for lead thorns
Our unborn never got to grow, never got to see what's next
In this world full of countless threats
I beg God, to make a way for our ghetto kids to breathe
Show us sign, make us all believe
'Cause I ain't mad at cha
[Hook: Danny Boy]
I ain't, mad, at cha
I ain't mad at cha
I ain't, mad, at cha
I ain't, mad, at cha
I ain't mad at cha
I ain't, mad, at cha

One of the few rapsongs that breaks a heart without rapping about romantic love - this is a beautiful song. You are always missed, Tupac. Love from Iran.

After 28yrs he still GOAT 🐐 2Pac fans 4ever

Gotta admit though. No one ever rapped with such heart.
The only rapper who can't be compared to anyone....died in 96 but his music still top everything...
Respect to the legend Afeni gave birth to the legend
Truth. He was a revolutionary and change people's hearts and minds. They killed him for his intelligence and influence.
Hard to believe he's been gone over 25 years. I miss the 90s. I never thought I'd say that.

I’m listening and shedding tears while reminiscing my cousin who’s has just left home and headed to LA. He was a piece of my soul, my flesh my blood goes through…. I dedicate this song to his leaving, may God arrive him and everybody safe.

2pac forever
Yeah i agree 👍 pac inspired me
"A broken rose even blooms through the cracks of the concrete". This hit me on another level.
RIP Pac
He’s got a collection of poems called ‘the rose that grew from concrete’ its mostly stuff he wrote when he was 19. It’s pretty good, give it a shot
That 3rd verse IMO is still one of my favorite verses ever from a rapper. Wasn't even in the original version but added to this clean version for this video that made it more fitting as Pac is playing the character who's in heaven with all the greats who have already left this world. That 3rd verse is a prayer, no, a plea to God that encapsulates what so many black people are feeling. When Pac says "Picture us inside a ghetto heaven" I close my eyes. Envision it, and get chills every single time.
I get chills everytime i hear that 3rd verse

Tupac Shakur is the GOAT of the rap industry, and an amazing and awesome human being that was born to hold the hearts of the world for eternity. Tupac is so GREAT that he made a video reflecting on his death before he died, how powerful and profound is that? Tupac was telling the world that they it killed and broke him, he was mad, he was at peace. True Legends NEVER die, Tupac will live throughout eternity in our hearts.
Crying right now Rest in Power Tupac Shakur... 😭

Had to come listen to this masterpiece after Dre played that beautiful lil tribute on the keys for the Superbowl. RIP Legend 🙏🏻
One of the greatest songs of all time
man when he sings while he smiles, I just smile back!
Thoughtful poetry missing today!
Common & Nas are two of the best "poet Emcees." They might fill that void if that's one of the things that you loved most about PAC.
have no word, simply the greatest ever
Some legends I believe had to go in their prime so they will be remembered for all eternity that way. 2Pac, Bruce Lee, Jim Morrison, Biggie, Jimi Hendrix, James Dean, Belushi, Farley. And many more.
I truly pray pac excepted Jesus Christ. Pac if ur with our father I’ll see u soon. Rest sweetheart.❤️🤗♥️” justice for pac. 🙏🏽
Extremely smart young man to assemble these words, phrases and adjectives to rhyme and rhythm. At age 67,I gotta say he was one of the best.🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
He was David
This man was a damn poet.

well, he did do poetry so you're just stating the obvious here lol, his poems are excellent though
Yes he was and the man kept trying to bring him down. They finally succeeded one evening in Vegas. There will never be another 2pac.
Don't forget he went to art school that says alot
PAC’s last video. he knew he was going to go soon💔
he's last video was live and die in l.a
“Father forgive us for living, why all my homies stuck in prison. Barely breathing believing that the world is a prison”.
That shit is deep and sad
Pac die before I was born, but when I'm listening to his song,I wish I could hold on to my tears because in all my life I had never listened to a song that has meaning like 2pac. Well, he's a man who knows when he will be gone. Miss you Pac. Could you please return back to us, we need you now than we was. Rest in heavenly peace
2pac is the only guy who's music I cry too😢
This was my era. I was bumpin' 2pac while he was still alive. Fuck this new generation of Hiphop. lol Y'all can have it if you want it.
Very handsome, extremely smart, kind and a humanitarian. I was 16 when he passed, damn I loved him. He introduced me to the real rap. I often ask myself what he would be doing had they not killed him. Much Respect and I know I will love you forever Tupac Amaru Shakur. You were a gift to this world. Rip King!
His music is like fine wine 🍷. I gets better as it ages ❤
Still can't get over his death and i was 11 when he died. The way he rap and move was just special. Nobody can ever match Pac to me.

@@KidFlowDlx Yeah it was rough man. I was on the phone with my cousin and we was both crying. I can still picture it like yesterday. He was 10 and i was 11. With this video and the Makaveli album i thought he faked his death. Hoping he would come back....such a amazing artist

I'm a rock music fan but Tupac was great. A great lyricist and a huge personality. You can't question his genius
I echo your comment Karl. I was there during this man's fame. And yes, he was special. Even amongst the giants of his day. Some people just possess special personalities that captivate any room they encounter. I've known several of this type and Tupac is definitely one of them.
Just because you are a fan of one genre of music doesn’t mean you can’t be fan of others. Congratulations for expanding your taste 😂😂😂

He was a poet . So intelligent. I wis he never signed with death row. That was the beginning of the end.
He needed that 3mil bail money. According to Jada's book. That's why he signed with death Row and Suge posted the 3mil. The plan was for pac to pay back the 3mil in 3yrs max. But Suge was a parasite that kills to 2pac.
2Pac will forever be the face & epitome of HipHop
I have just had the blessing of watching an interview of 2PACS father (Mr Billy Garland) and WOW what an upstanding man, its a pity over the years we were lied to believe he was dead and a deadbeat father; how society and the enemy keeps pushing the negative narrative of our black men and keep beating them down. Thank you to both 2PACs parents for giving birth to such a talented and kind individual that the world got to know as the great rapper 2PAC. Having been born in the 80's I had the blessing of growing up in the 90's and the blessing of enjoying music when it was still good and meaningful and real talent was the criteria and having grown up in the time of this rap legend known as 2PAC. Thank you for your talent and intelect and for trying to be the voice of change and substance to your black people - Rest in ETERNAL Peace 2PAC.
love all the way from South Africa. - From an African Queen. I salute all our black men who are trying to be upstanding individuals in this world that keeps beating them down.
Pac had the most meaningful songs of all time in rap he was truly on another level. There will never be another like him.A thug in peace rest up Pac.
