I'm still learning and still in the process of putting it all together. Right now, it's only a hobby. It's going to be a while before I can afford the rock wool soundproofing boards to put in the basement glass block windows. I don't even have a word clock generator and am fudging it at 16bit 44.1k:) Asio4all to see if I can get more than two audio tracks with video.
That's part of my Problem With FL Studio... After I do the Gain Staging, Then adjust the Levels on the mixer channel & add the plugins & adjust the levels on those. My Beats sound good at home... 😀 but, when I play them back in the car.... ... It's Bad ... I'm still working on it.
@@chriskringle5191 and remember all adjustments are lil enhancements, start with good gain stage first before adding a lot of dynamic processing! Remember less is more in a lot of cases! Leave you some head room on the mix down for mastering purposes! I was always hot but leave that room for mastering!!! Keep grinding mane!!!!

I always been the person who wants them session files. The artist would use my beat at another studio. I feel like the artist missed out if they don't grab them...but most people on average locally have no idea why. Wont inquire about them. They be so anxious to hear themselves. Then find out later. I always like having full creative control. The whole beat track out and vocals in one session. Bass, kicks, snares etc had cohesiveness, the vocals always in a certain pocket. Timed effects not sloppy. You end up with your own brand on sound...once people get used to it.
Trust me if you do enough paid sessions, you find out that even great engineers can alter your sound from what you want! Be a producer/engineer like a Rick Hall from the FAME studios allows you to correct those things while you cutting too!!!! You the first to hear it before an artist can come out of the booth! So know when to stack or spread vocals or when to get the artist to stand back on the back ground cuts as opposed to being close for the verses is key to making a record! Great topic sir!!!

So Bolo- Are you planning to discuss (or have solved the issues with) Cubase Pro 14? In my opinion its the best version in years as an update or upgraded Cubase.
@@BoloDaProducer i have used Cubase since SX, and a "learning curve upgrade" was required for me- Cubase's main YT channel was a big help, but man: 2 hour demo instruction for most of the major changes.
Back in my day all producers could engineer because that how you got started. Also knowing how to engineer you learned what a studio could do for you. Plus as an engineer you were around good producers you could learn from. So some producers would engineer their own sessions, but other wanted a engineer so they could focus more on the artist and arranging side of the music. Better yet you find producer and engineer teams, working as a team they got to know each other and one complemented the other to streamline the workflow. In this day and age you need a lot of different skillsets to keep the money flowing constantly.
I had to learn out of necessity! I hated depending on someone else! At first, I didn’t even know what a plugin was (in the 90’s, pre UA-cam Univ) I was just pushing buttons! Because of that: I got some verses off on mixtapes in Spain I got wit a global crew and we put out 8 mixtapes I was able to perform in about 10 cities with no management Host a radio show Make music for me, friends and friends of friends Damn, that shit really paid off! Not claiming they were perfect (or even good in some cases) but it got me there!
What do you do if you haven’t had anybody come into your personal space like your home and record? How did you overcome that? What do you do if they want to smoke inside but you know you can’t have that because of certain speculations or limitations such as living in an apartment, and you don’t have a place to actually record such as a real studio
Only invite people who will respect your rules. I lost a lot of money due to people not respecting my rules, but I gain respect from it. In turn more people from other genres wanted to record with me because I didn’t have problems at my spot. Also try to find a studio that’s close, try to book some time and get to know the people there. Then you can hopefully work yourself in the studio.

Terrible advice. I agree with you most of the time. Once you get behind the desk you get stuck behind the desk. Pick one and the best at that, having an understand is different than being an engineer. This will take away from you main skill. A music producer should learn music theory, not focus on engineer. This your experience and cant take that away. I do all but we are rare.
Nope, I was BEHIND THE DESK, and as you can see I definitely made it out. The Desk kept me afloat during hardship and definitely kept me from working a conventional 9 to 5. The thing is I had a plan and I kept to it. The problem is a lot of people don’t have plans they just go with the flow. I had a plan and it worked out in the end. 👍🏾

Back in my day all producers could engineer because that how you got started. Also knowing how to engineer you learned what a studio could do for you. Plus as an engineer you were around good producers you could learn from. So some producers would engineer their own sessions, but other wanted a engineer so they could focus more on the artist and arranging side of the music.
