no age limit on making music no but major record companies wont sign you if your geting on you have to get your foot in the door young to stay on there books to speak
@opticalman6417 today's era is about Auto-Tune if you listen to 95% of Music These Days you don't have to be young to make it you can be any age you want be. a lot of young people and older buying their own little Studio packages from American Musical ZZounds or Guitar Center instead of going to Studios and another thing that's why a lot of Studios closing down when you can build your own for a lot less money and that's what you're seeing nowadays.
I'm 50 and still make music and record myself with no desire to seek out a record label ..with the evolution of social media platforms you can release and do whatever you want and who knows you might hit ..

It said booked but the beat was on my phone long a whole lotta 💩. Yo I just wanna know I’m I stinky trash or just old trash. What do I do??????
Appreciate the motivation Bolo! Im 41, Just got back in it 6 months ago and produced and mixed a couple songs off the latest Mook Boy album. Would have quit if not for your videos and people saying how hard my beats were, thought they were just blowin smoke lol. Thanks bro!
I'm an older than dirt hip hop beat guy but just learning modern R'n'B for a young artist. It's been a great learning experience and always into learning and growing my skills. Don't be stuck!
Bolo, I keep watching your videos since day one because you remind me a dj in the neighborhood I grew up. He was a talented Dj, but he was a bit too selfish to educate the younger boys who saw him as leader, maybe he was, but not a mentor for sure. I'm 35, you're one of my mentors on UA-cam, I started producing beats at 30. This is why watching videos from someone around my age is important for me. Keep doing what you're doing, keep sharing ideas bro. I believe many people love what you're doing 🙌

Once or twice a month you could do a video highlighting a new school technique for us old heads. Give it a catchy name like “Old Dogs New Tricks” or something 😂
This is Dj Savage 😂 Im 51 love music production all I can say keep doing what you love if you good keep your ears sharp and mind open to new possibilities
It's funny how hip hop is the only genre that puts an age limit on its artist and music. I think good music is good music. But if you're up in age and not acting your age while doing music, i think that's the disconnect.
That’s why I’m not listening to anybody saying that cuz rock music has no age limit country music no age limit I don’t care 🤷🏾♂️ if I’m 36 music is music it’s only hip hop that locks you in a time capsule
Most kids aren't streaming older rock and country either. There's obviously a market for it in hip hop genre still to this day. E-40 has been putting out music regularly for decades. Ice Cube, Snoop, Daz just dropped solo projects. Griselda made it in their 30's. If there's a will, there's a way.
I just started dabbling in beat making. My first thought was to give some away as I progress. Gotta start somewhere, and to me, just getting ppl to use a beat and hear what they do on it is exciting.
I am 36 years old and i have always been a boom bap head, been stuck in that era but recently i started catering to the younger cats and its a journey to be sure, but i'm learning a lot.
Im 43 and I started producing back in 2008. I stopped for years and I just got back into it recently. I'm glad I did. How many beats are you making a day nowadays?
Totally agree .. U have to give away some beatz … especially if u find a young artist that u can build a sound with.. develop the sound , put the music out and use that as advertising for your production.
I'm in my mid 30s and a lot of young producers have been asking to collab. I'm a slow beat maker, these young bucks have like 200 to 500 beats on their site but has only 25k plays max. I have only 50 beats up but they have 100k plays. I don't think I'll collab well because I want my sounds a certain way and if I can't get it right I'll take as much time as a I need until I get it right. I can't just make melodies live, it will turn out dookie. I do my best when I'm not working on music and I get a random melody in my head and record it down on my phone to put on the computer. I also like making happy good feel music but the young bucks like that dark aggressive slap lol
There are a few malls still like that, with stores still doing the samples, including Chickfila and Aunt Annie's. So the example is still relevant and on point. I've had people tell me they're against this but say they're paying for advertising. etc and not selling beats. Do you, but at least link with an artist you're feeling. 🤷🏾♂️
Ey bolo I love what you saying on this video and I'd like to add on what you said the older producer's got to work with younger producer's to update their sound because their sound cn get outdated but that's just my suggestion bolo
👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿 Everything Bolo spitting is facts. I agree 100%. One thing i would add is to try to find a younger up and coming artist to latch on to. Try to connect with artists that are actively doing shows and promoting themselves and their music. More to the point, I'm not talking about just doing records and putting it out, but i mean artists that are truly investing in their career and trying to build it. Even better if they are a traveling artists. If your sound is dope enough and unique, you can be a part of building that artist's signature. That's typically how you'll start getting noticed. Dope stuff @bolo 🔥🔥🔥

lol ahead of time, you know I’m going to comment on this, I agree with you on the process of getting placements , as far as giving beats out and so forth, now here’s my only gripe if all the producers is making music using the same type drum sounds , same type patterns , same chord progressions , similar melodies and ”the younger artist” is writing “if they do” the same shit in their lyrics wouldn’t all of the music sound alike? With that formula right there it no wonder why the American public market doesn’t value music, also let’s keep it all the way funky , how many of the artist is getting publishing checks off a record they recorded five years ago? For me I’d rather do it the Sade way create my own brand, my own sound and if you banging with it, you’re going to get at me strictly for a Ryakin Rip type beat, not no Metro Boomin beat, or a Bolo beat. Granted right now I’m doing CGI 3D animation , motion picture sound scores and sound design creating my own sounds from scratch , and I say that to say a older producer can get money in those ways as well, also my advise to older producers is find your own artist and create a fresh sound with those artist. Shit even Dr. Dre said it the best, “He doesn’t like artist that has different producers on an album” and it totally makes sense because the shit all sounds the same nothing fresh, “F-R-E-S-H” stay true to the culture!!!

Sometimes you gotta do like G-Money said on New Jack City. Give em a hit of the base and 15 minutes later they coming back for more. Give out a sample, that’ll make em come back and get two or three more beats, make em come back for the bass!😂
