Same story. Intense shoulder pain, lots of diagnoses and missed opportunities to find the real cause. (Stage 4 diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.) Many visits to emergency rooms and sent home with pain meds and told to get PT. It took six months for anyone to take me seriously. I wake up every morning and can't believe I'm still alive.
Going through the same but without a diagnosis still! Going to meet with a surgeon next week to have lymph node removed. I already had a core biopsy but sample was too small to rule out lymphoma. I have so many symptoms and I suffer in pain everyday. It’s so frustrating when I look well on the outside but awful inside. I know my body and I feel something is going on. Wish could find out.
Same situation , shoulder pain for a year and I was sent home with Voltaren . I had the headache for years , nothing is done , itchy feet nothing is done they keep prescribing antifungal medication. I’m gradually getting worse
My husband kept going back to ortho for his shoulder pain.. weeks went by and finally I told him not to come home without an mri .. his scapula was fractured from stage 4 metastatic lung cancer … we had 6 teenagers at the time .. the kids were great .. I still miss him everyday ..
These stories you and patients share are very educational. We walk away with knowledge of those symptoms to look for which is extremely beneficial to avoid waiting too long to be checked. I, personally, cannot thank each patient for their courage and transparency in sharing what sometimes seems sensitive details of their journey. Kudos to them!
Having to be in the hospital for weeks at a time is the worst part of this to me personally, I can't stand to be in a hospital setting, it makes me panic to even think about it.
Most cancer patients don't spend time in hospital other than for any surgery or for complications of chemo. Most treatment is outpatient, and the majority get through it all as outpatients.
So scary. I have all of these same symptoms. I m so tired of going back to square one each time I go to a doctor. No one listens to me , they can not see anything on the x rays therefore it s in my head. I have children , my youngest is 15. 💔😢 sending this young man positive vibes his way. Get well.
One of the most difficulties in diagnosing cancer is trying to find where the referral pain originated from. With shoulder pain, it can be anything from muscular strain to arthritis. There is also a rare lung cancer, pancoast tumour causes shoulder pain without a cough.
I had the same but my mass was wrapped around my exiting nerve roots. And it was in my sacrum. Bone marrow biopsy is not pleasant. 1 week after my infusion I would crash end up in hospital. Had the intrathecal injections. I required 2 back surgeries. 4 rods in my lumbar3 into my sacrum. God Bless you. I have a 30% chance of it returning. Met the 5 year survival rate. My cancer was due to taking Humira for 10 years for Crohn’s disease
The most important thing about these stories is the feeling that you are not alone.

@@Araksi_N I never had my lymph node removed and it’s still swollen. Did you ever have a biopsy? I am also gradually getting worse each day.
