The little lantern looks adorable...I haven't given up on making a decent bow...I'll 'get it 'one day LOL! I think it's lovely to find ornaments from the past and use them again, they must bring back lots of memories.
Thank you Arlynn, you just taught me another variation for the funky bow for the small lanterns I have on my mantle. I LOVE the funky bows, and now know how to make them with just 2 ribbon patterns, instead of 3 or 4 patterns. You ROCK gf! TFS. Love and happy wishes to you.
Hey there Wendy...You are so welcome, it is my complete pleasure to help...AND you can help me now...how do you make them if you have 4 different patterns? I so appreciate all of your always lovely words!!! Much love to you too!!
Arlynn's Country Craft Corner - a 4 pattern is made the same way you make it with 3 patterns, only I was using 2 strips of each pattern instead of 3. However, depending on the thickness of the ribbon, you may want to consider 3 of each anyway. I made one last night for my coffee table lantern and used a red cardinal on white back ground, a white poinsettia on a red background, one with red and silver glitter snowflakes on a white background all 2.5 inch, and a white snowflake on a sheer silvery background which was a 1.5 inch. All were thin, though wired, we're very pliable and it could have used more. It turned out beautiful, but I think 3 strips of each would have made it fuller because I didn't embellish it in the middle like you do. I just added a couple poinsettias on each side and some beaded picks draping down. Pretty, but DEFINITELY NOT an Arlynn. Your teaching me SO much!
OHHHH Wendy, that sounds like a GORGEOUS bow gf!!! I am going to have to try one with 4 different patterns...And yes, I totally get what you're saying...sometime textures makes all of the difference...like my blue bow topper for that little white tree...that ribbon was so soft I used a ton of it in that bow...the more! Thanks so much for letting me know!!!
Arlynn's Country Craft Corner - Arlynn, you are SO welcome. I'm in awe you asked to begin with and but more honored that you liked the description. I hope that if you try it that you post it on your channel, because I know, if anyone can, YOU can take it over the top, and in turn teach ME how to do it right. Lol. Love and hugs. BTW I DO remember your struggle with the bow for the dining room Christmas tree. You pulled it off though. Because you are just THAT talented!
Hey there Patricia...Aww, you are very welcome and I'm so glad to hear that you are learning new things from me...that is wonderful!! I hope that you have a great day as well!
Precious, and I agree about going through things to make other things. I gather a lot of things from antique shows and flea markets at hardly any cost and you would be shocked at how beautiful they look in lanterns, on bows, etc. Love your work and you. You are the best !
Another awesome lantern bow!!! I have a small lantern and will give this a try. I need to get some pipe cleaners. Have a great evening. Tfs. Hugs, Debbie
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR TAKING THE CHALLENGE. AS ALWAYS you were so much fun and giving so much of your talent. You are so blessed and you are always laid back and comfortable which makes it so much more relaxing for us. Can't wait for Friday for your home tour. I will try to get up early so I can see yours. Sweet dreams sweetie. Love you.
Hi Sandy!! Awww, thank you so much girl...I'm so glad that you think that I'm laid back...well I am a pretty calm (Chris would laugh if he heard me say this) lady when crafting...But, I really am...it does calm me down to do what I love to do. :) I'm so looking forward to Friday as well...so excited!
Soooo cute! Ilove❤️❤️snowmen! That ribbon is adorable. You will be happy to know that I made 5 regular bows....7/9 loops....and 6 funky bows today. I was proud of myself. Lol...it has only taken me dozens of times watching your wonderful tutorials to accomplish this feat! Even my husband said how nice they were. Wow! So...Arlynn...thanks! Going to watch some more of your videos for inspiration and ...to just make me happy. Love you! Cindi
Oh my goodness! How did I miss this collaboration video? Arlynn, this lantern swag is so cute!! The smaller funky bow turned out so pretty. Seeing you make a funky bow on a smaller scale is definitely appreciated by me. A little less intimidating. Lol!
Hi Arlynn!!! So good to see you again :) You look so content when you create and just plain happy! Thank you for sharing with us! I think I like the mini bow lanterns better than the big lol. I never told you how sad I was to hear about Sofie, but bless your heart for being such a great fur baby mama and loving so much. Love and hugs from Alabama ~ Angela :)
You encouraged me to make a wreath. I made two, but it took me a bit to get them done. I guess it takes practice. ;-) I learn better by watching, thanks for the step by step instruction!! I made Christmas ones so now will try another wreath for this spring.
So adorable, Arlynn! Recovering from chemo and you definitely help me, I’ve learned to make wreaths and funky bows by watching your wonderful videos! Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Hi Peggy...Awww, bless your heart gf, I'm so glad that I've help to pass the hours with you. And I'm so glad that you've learned a little something from me...I so appreciate your sweet words...and you take good care of yourself!!! Merry Christmas to you and yours too!!
Thank your Arlynn I needed this tutorial. Because I need to make some smaller funky bows for a smaller lantern I have. Your lantern is soo gorgeous, love it!!!!
The lantern is so cute. I think the smaller funky bow will work with my style & decor. I'm going to try some this year! And I have two white lanterns that size just sitting in the closet--time to get them out!

Hahaha...You should have heard my brain whirling through the night last night...if only I'd seen Auntie CooCoo's challenge earlier...as it was, I was a day late in posting (I'm never late for anything...honest to goodness). So zoomzoomzoom, I figured out what to do finally...haha...I'm a hot mess down here in Virginia. ;)
Beautiful as always Arlynn. Love it !! I just love snowmen and they are too cute. I was excited when I saw you had another video and wasn't anticipating that due to the home tour on Friday. Take care!
Hi Brandi...Awww, thank you so much...and I know it...I wasn't planning to do anything else till Friday...hahaha...I'm working on my tour footage now though and it is going to take me a couple of days to compile that video (it is going to be a rather long one...haha). :)

Hey there Ginger...I honest to goodness do not remember sweet lady...I *believe* it was at Home Depot...but, I've had them for years......I'm so sorry. :/
didn't think of looking there. thanks! and don't ever be sorry....we all have so much stuff, it is impossible to remember where it all came from. ha ha
That is so true gf...I found those two little lanterns stuck in a bin kind of haphazardly this year...so I'm thinking I must have found them at the end of a Christmas Season (not necessarily last year's Season..haha) on a deep sale and threw them in a bin to be packed away at the last minute...go me! ;)
The little lantern looks adorable...I haven't given up on making a decent bow...I'll 'get it 'one day LOL! I think it's lovely to find ornaments from the past and use them again, they must bring back lots of memories.
