I relate to this family. I have a son who is an addict. I totally relate and empathize with them. They are a normal family except the money. There are lots of disfunction in every family. They did the best they could. I did the best I could. Kids don't come with "how to" manuals. You fly by the seat of your pants all the time.

Addiction is an entity in itself. It does all the thinking and decision-making for the addict/alcoholic, and those things are taken away from them, or _surrendered_ might be a better word. That's why an addict/alcoholic is a completely different person when using from who they are while sober. While using, it isn't the person you see standing before you, it is the addiction.
Zeddnex You have to not only have the desire to stop using, you have to also be determined and motivated to stop using. You have to recognize those things that typically trigger a relapse or a slip, and you have to eliminate those things (or people) from your life. It's the people-part that most addicts/alcoholics have difficulty shedding, and it is probably THE most important factor in the whole process. Someone said to me once "New places, new faces." It was probably the best advice I've ever received - it saved my life.

Just thought I'd point out that some people have difficulties with their speech, Ozzy did drugs and alcohol therefore making him unclear too some (i.e you who's English isn't brilliant) but others have lisps or spasms... people don't always choose how they speak...

And Ozzy doesn't ALWAYS stutter, so sometimes you can totally understand him, but, sometimes, you can't.
My first Album was Black Sabbath Sweat Leaf,then I got Black Sabbath.Probably picked them up.I got them in the wrong order of release but the town I grew up in had less than 200 people in the seventies.We took what we could get, in what ever way we could.

He's made calls to her to ask if she's okay and tells everyone he misses her dearly on times when he's touring or hundreds of miles away
