Your brilliant vocals will never be forgotten. A Master and a Legend.
Probably the greatest male/female pairing since Richard and Linda Thompson. Isobel has righteous songwriting skills. Mark has the greatest voice of the last 20 years in terms of baritone gruffness. He is our generation’s Leonard Cohen, Tom Waits and Jim Morrison in one smoky rasp.
Owen Wilberforce ........Jim Morrison?!............Shhhhhhh.......Mark might hear you.
Most says tom waits, which is no wrong...When i see and hear mark lanegan i think about nick cave too
Only 57 years old. I always attributed his style to both them, he, In interviews didn't like when people compaired him with them. But, it's still true. He was a good & unique vocalist, such good works, may the man rest in peace .
@@South3West77 - I think when I hear a voice I like, and it reminds me of other voices, it’s just me thinking referentially and reverently. Even if Mark didn’t like being connected to Morrison or Waits, I would still hear a distant connection. It has to do with phrasing and tone. All the other personality/ persona things have nothing to do with it. Jim Morrison, apart from his druggy pretentiousness and melodrama was still an awesome singer. Even Jim didn’t like his own voice though, ironically enough. So, I just measure vocal timbre and phrasing. It’s what makes both Frank Sinatra and Jim Osterberg (Iggy Pop) memorable. They knew how to phrase for maximum effect. It’s part instinct, part practice. So, people interpret as they will, and there’s just no way around it. Mark was a good natured moody dude. He came from a less than ideal childhood which explained his surly demeanor early on. Who can blame him for being generally hostile as a younger person? He drank and drugged that anger into something else. He burned through it and it burned out his constitution. Like John Cash, they had to burn out to finally find some inner peace.
i hear mr. nick cave as well
A contrasting and yet beautiful combination of two voices; one flowing like clear water and the other like stones in a brook.
i realize it is quite off topic but does anyone know of a good place to stream new series online?
@Sean Kyree I watch on Flixzone. You can find it on google :)
This concert really shows off Marks great voice. I'm jealous of everyone who got to see this great performance.
Cliffjumper? The G1 Autobot?
I have this show on vinyl, I play it all the time. I'm so happy I get to actually add visuals to it now
Love how Mark is just a looming dark form on the stage emitting a dark growl.
Pretty sad this morning. The Trees were one of the bands that woke me from my classic rock stupor in the early 90s.
Thanks for all the great tunes Mark.
"Beauty and the Beast", an extraordinary vocal combination that leaves my jaw hanging in awe, wonder and no small amount of jealousy.
The chemistry is so good between them, you'd think they had something going on. RIP, Mark Lanegan, this old man misses you.
I can’t count how many times this guy finds his way back to me feed....and I’m grateful. Only a few voices hit me like his. Gilmour, Staley, and this guy....echoes that bounce off my soul strings.
With Mark on your side everything sounds better.
Isobel seems very natural and not so interested in all the hype of the music business game. Lovely voice and good taste in songs. I like the gentle folk elements in her songs which also sound contemporary. "Milk White Sheets" is my favourite album of hers and has often pleasantly lulled me to sleep - especially soothing during the series of 12,000 earthquakes the last few years which has destroyed much of my city, Christchurch, New Zealand.
This is such an amazing set. I love Isobel and Marks vocals together. I get goosebumps everytime I hear Honey Child What Can I Do... RIP Mark your talent will never be forgotten
This set has grown on me so much; I’ve listened to it a few times now. honey child what can I do is potentially my new favourite song that mark and Isobel played together. Rip mark you legend
Master Lanegan. wont be another like you.
the lighting design for this set is tripping me out. Mark's in shadow and Isobel and the rest of the band are in light. that tight spotlight on Mark's right hand gripping the mic stand. i've never seen that done before. respect
That is bugging me out!
Where is he????
I can see why some folk didn't like the lighting, but I did it was simple but effective
@@gordoncuthbertson5255 I sure as heck don't like it.
Lanegan had bad eyes those bright stage lights are blinding
They didn't call him Dark Mark for nothing.
I'm so freaking sad, we lost one of the greatest singers of all times.
I'm with you. Ive been obsessed with this singer. I am so sad.
What I would have given to have seen this concert. I only got to see Mark live once and regrettably (not to speak ill of the dead and a legend) he was very inebriated and it wasn't the best performance. Rest in peace, Mark. Your voice will be missed.
This guy hides his face but the more his voice grabs me. Isobel Campbells voice is the perfect counterpart. All the instrumentation is very well balanced as the recording too. Five thumbs up from me!
He's not hiding. The lighting man did it.
Grandes vozes, grandes musicas...
Love this duo! Very good chemistry
Come undone...absolutely brilliant!!!
Show me direction
And I'm good to go
I'm trying hard
Always fall so low
And when I fall
There'll be another star
I'm chasing my tail
Always running
What is there left, after all these great singers gone???
Wow. First time today. BLOWN AWAY! A cross between - WAITS / COHEN/McMURTRY. Singing from the shadows.......inspired
Fantastic show. Thanks for the upload

Oh shit, they did the snake song Townes Van Zant!!! Wow 👏
This is a treat.
Great !!!
JEFFREY LEE PIERCE ... oh what a set list
RIP Mark ...
Beauty and the Beast 💔🙏🏻RIP Mark Lanegan 💔🙏🏻
Rest in peace dark angel.
Very Nice !!!!
Amazing !!!!!!!!!!
This is pretty rad, my first time here, and first time listening to this collab, I love it, it's so refreshing to hear legitimately good tunes
we love this!!!
Legend has it the lighting guy is still looking or a job.
Weird remark. Looking “or” a what?

The Lone Wolf will be missed.
Sooo goood thnx for the upload!
Her voice is like frosting on Mark's voice.
Staggering.
I saw them on this tour in Utrecht, Netherlands. They had a weird vibe between them. She played the cello and needed to read the notes from paper, and was really annoyed by people talking in the crowd. He looked and smiled to comfort her like a gentlemen, nothing would crack his focus. It seemed like a professional and an amateur.
But, it was an awesome show. They both were amazing.
She wrote and composed 95% of the music. She's the reason they're performing the music.
They're both longtime musicians. But for this collaboration, Isobel Campbell definitely did the majority of the work behind the scenes. It's not hard to see traces of her earlier work from Belle & Sebastian and her solo work here, just in a more mature form.
*100 billion heart emojis*
Avec cette série d'album en collaboration Iso a mis à bas toutes les misérables critiques qu'elle a reçues quand elle était avec Belle&Sebastian!
Come undone es súper sensual: ay caramba!!
Ay pero Papi!
I'm no musician so correct me if I'm wrong, but they don't seem to be harmonising and rather are singing together in different octaves? Makes me think it is trying to communicate that they are representing different sides of a single narrator, or something like that. The lighting raises a question also. But that make me think it's meant to represent a deceased or distant lover? or father? The mix seems to favor Mark's voice almost to the point of drowning out Isobel sometimes, I wonder if that was a deliberate artistic choice or just how it turned out? An interesting arrangement anyway.
Salvation (42:37)
*RIP 2/22*
Why does this make me think everything's gonna be OK?
So much better than when we saw them live in Seattle. Well that isn't fair, Isobel was wonderful but she had to enlist the gentleman from the opening act to sing with her because after a couple of songs Mark just walked off the stage for some reason. You never know what will happen when you go to see Mark I guess.
Unless he had some issue with his voice, that's a terrible thing to do. Maybe it was indicative of the reason they stopped collaborating.
Think I read an interview where she alluded to problems in their working relationship.
but why only 360p ?
Any reason why (at least for the first few songs so far) Mark is lost in shadow with only his right hand illuminated?
John Walkey
It was pretty much the same way each time i saw him perform, especially the first decade of this century. He seemed to prefer the shadows all the tims. Now that he's more used to standing in the spotlights the last years he becomes a more open personality and person. But i have to say, each performance i saw of his, with the soulsavers, with campell, with Greg Dulli, with his own band or completely by himself, absolutely great performance, pure professional performer and very shy. A living legend.
It's bout the music otherwise I would just get lost in his eyes
Maybe just maybe it's to emphasize contrast of light and dark in their voices. She's got an airy ethereal angelic voice juxtaposed against his gruff earthy voice. Really a great performance on both parts.
mark es la polla
vaya q si
🙂😷
skollettivo invErso pontiscino.
Te lo vojo dì (citando il povero Aldo Donati) che è stato uno dei più bei viaggetti della vita mia.
eh...bella trasferta...sopra quel ponticino poi...

Love mark can't stand her.....
why aren't her vocals being displayed? Failure
they are. dont have to be the "lead" vocalist for your vocals to be impactful.
So pitty that he hiden a face
Argh. I love these two, but I'm not sure I like the live versions of these songs. I think Isobel Campbell's voice is perfect in the studio, and her breathiness stands out there, but out here it's inconsistent and hard to hear at times.
Interesting, her voice sounds quite clear to me, and I really like the nuances on her voice
So amazing
I vividly remember buying ballad of the broken seas when it came out, more out of curiosity than anything else. It’s an absolute masterpiece, the songs are haunting and the chemistry is beautiful. I was lucky to see them perform on 4 occasions in Edinburgh and Glasgow. Very sad news but his legacy and beautiful songs will live on and be rediscovered by generations to come. RIP Mark ❤️
Yes today on Christmas Eve. Beautiful
So sad tonight. RIP Mark
Mark Lanegan, twenty first century vampire.
RIP
💔 So long Mark.. RIP
This is classy.
My generations Leonard Cohen.
just more proof, if the man deigns to join a project, it becomes a work of a dfferent order! There will never be too much Mark Lanegan, and yet, still rarely known, recognised, reminds me of Joe Jackson, no one acknowledges! But everyone knows a song or two!
This set grabbed me years ago and hasn't let go . . . . Just a freaking great performance on every level from all involved . Thanks so much for posting.
Seems so damn young, but he was always on a hard road. A well deserved rest in peace. Thanks
Simply beautiful.
That was sooooo good, just loved it.
💨🍻❤️💉 thanks Mark
yummy Isobel
Man ...oh wow...👍
great perfomance - love it!
too bad they know so few chords
its always the same kind of song structure which gets old fast
how many songs have you written?
its amazing how they make such beautiful music with so few chords and the same kind song structure
It doesn't matter how many chords you use since your music is good
Luiz Marcondes wow bold statement , you can make that comment when you have been around as long as Lanegan as . A true honest artist that releases what he wants and doesn't give a fuck what negative people like you think .
@@andrewbounds1657 thats whats up
It's not as if the music isn't excellent on its own, but I love how she's in light and he's in darkness.
The angelic, soft-voiced blonde Scandinavian babe and the shadow creature dude (originally) from the rural Northwest - like some kind of musical Sasquatch. RIP Mark - we love you!
Scottish, not Scandinavian.
that version of come undone is tough to beat, and thats saying something
