Beautiful, and great to hear feeling and soul being poured into this instrument, that so often is ridiculed for lacking that. This performance is to my mind like many, proof that its the spirit of the musician that shines no matter whether its through acoustic or digital means. Thanks for sharing this! Gone into my favourites
Simply superb; best cover version of this Jimmy Webb classic; Alistair is exquisite in his handling of the Akai EWI; I’ve watched this so many times tirelessly, and each time I felt it was my first
This has gone into my favourites......and I can tell you not many do....it was great. P.S it was you who got me playing my first EWI not looked back since..
I have listened to this way too many times as I play EWI and piano (and sax). This version gives me the weebie jeebies. So good. Thanks for all the time you put into the project! The changes in dynamics and the patch and octave used on the EWI are perfect. Chapeau Alistair!
Alistair is absolutely phenomenal, with his lesson I have learned to play an Akai 5000 at the age of 84, after 55 years of not playing anything (ex-sax player) .I owe it all to Alistair. Sam P.
HOLY! That is beautiful, Alistair! I subscribed to your lessons but never heard you actually play the EWI 4000s till now. I love this song (been playing it on guitar). Looks like you recorded the Roland piano into Logic and recorded the melody over it. Boy you can really convey some passion and longing with your horn. I aim to give people the kind of pleasure I got listening to this. Kudos.
I recently saw a guy playing EWI with a street rapper and singer in Oxford and was intrigued to find out more - I'm stunned by how beautifully inventive yet legato your playing is on this mindblowing instrument. Please do more!
Alistair, this is absolutely amazing. A really great interpretation of that old country song with a very special vibe. I listened to it now more than 30 times. I also bought the EWI5000 which is unfortunately not capable to produce such powerful synth sounds with the wonderful filter modulation. But anyhow, I love that instrument, beside playing piano I can now play almost Sax like with my advanced recorder skills, a small dream came true. The lineman sounds also great with program 03 with a little bit of reverb and a lot of delay.
Love the song ! I just bought the EWI 5000, Im very Amateur played twice in Church. I play by ear, but hope to learn to read soon. Nice performance Alistair .
fantastic ! you are obviously an accomplished wind instrument player and keyboard player also, i have also been playing sax for a few years now and have decided to buy an ewi been looking at your tutorials, well done and thank for all the info regards john
Here I am nearly 7 years later, STILL listening to this. Beautiful!! I love it. :) Can you please say which Patchman preset that is? Best Regards for 2020 and beyond. :)
Great job on Jimmy Webb melody PS my EWI is running great since I've become an owner again. Your videos really helped me understand the Instrument this time around thus my 2nd purchase was more enjoyable with your help, Thanks again
Such a beautiful rendition for this tune, so heart felt and emotional! Can't get enough of this. To be honest your performance inspired me to get back to my childhood music origins of clarinet playing. I bought Roland Aerophone AE-20 to learn this peace. Is there any chance to get music score for piano and synth parts. I transcribed bass and solo parts myself. Thanks a lot for your yt content on digital wind synths and your amazing performances.
Hi there. So glad you were inspired. I’m afraid I don’t have a written out score of the parts for this. It was played live and there was no score. Good luck with your Aerophone.
Inspired me to get my 4000s out of its case again :) Very realistic sax sound going on here - is this your own patch or a default or one of the download packs from various Ewi programmers?

This simply gets under your skin and into your soul. Beautiful.

Superb Alistair... One of my favourite tunes. Love the EWI for its expressiveness, and versatility.

Such a beautiful sensitive arrangement. The thought provoking sparse arrangement works so well. Love it. Listening July 1 2022 ...
Hi, that’s so kind of you to say so. Thank you.🙏
Great job respecting the feel of the original composition. Love the high notes on the EWI as well as the dynamics on this version.
What a great musician.
Beautiful! One of my favorite songs!
Thanks for listening
2021... and I'm back for another dose of this performance!! :)

At 3:35... that’s alarming...so full of despair or something. Alistair’s composing towards the end is just brilliant...to me.
+Mark Emery 👍
Wonderful! Really enjoyed this, Alistair.

Reworking a classic with a new arrangement and a novel instrument doesn't always succeed. But this time it did. Bloody magnificent!
Very kind. Thanks for listening.
absolutely wonderful performance!
That is awesome!
Hi, thanks so much for listening. It’s one of my favourites too. 😊
Fantastic!
Thanks so much for watching G. Dyer
Beautiful!
Well. That escalated quickly! Nice

This sounds awesome! Is there a transcription of this particular performance anywhere?
Woooooooow!!!
Inspired me to get my 4000s out of its case again :) Very realistic sax sound going on here - is this your own patch or a default or one of the download packs from various Ewi programmers?
Beautiful song I really like it...are you using the EWI USB or the 4000s?
Alistair, would you please tell us exactly what patch, with what synth, you are using here. It is indeed exquisitely beautiful.
Absolutely beautiful. I wish I could play like this. Perhaps you should change the byline to written by Jimmy Webb and sung by Glen Campbell?
Nice version of the song. What patch did you use? Was it from patchman or one you created?
I just saw you are using the 4000s
oh! & i like that it's 4mins 33secs!!
from aaron you are awesome make more
Rest in Peace Glen!
Do you ever release the backing tracks you make?
Hi. Thanks for watching and getting in touch. No I’m afraid I don’t release backing tracks.
iSax - Alistair Parnell I understand. I'm sad, but I understand. :)
This is by Jimmy Webb, not Glen Campbell.
Oh yeah I think AKAI just come out with the EWI 5000
I gotta save up some $ again LMAO
To me, this is the sound of a wind synth.
Thanks very much. I love this tune.
Don't know how much he paid for that thing but whatever it was it wasn't enouph.
Beautiful!
