I'm so excited for you! I fish a lot myself, but because of you, I've gotten my one year old daughter more into fishing. Not just because of fishing but because of the person you are. Thank you for being you. 🤘🏼
Representation matters!!! We're proud of you, Kristine! You show those little girls how to make history.
How to make history?.... I was a 5 yr old little girl back in the 70's and was fishing... No one EVER even remotely made me feel like I couldn't pick up a fishing pole. This is very strange rhetoric... Women/Females in general are simply not as interested in fishing as men /males are... Obviously there are those who are but they're more of an exception than the rule.... There has never been some sort of oppression of females in fishing and I'm unaware or any little girl who ever thought, "Oh, I can't be a fisherman because I'm a girl".... (fisherwoman for you soft, politically correct types)
Honestly, as a woman who was once also a little girl, I find this mentality absolutely overdramatic and on some ghost of a narrative... (aka something that doesn't exist)
I hope I can clear this up a little - Referring to making history as in, competitive fishing. there has never been a female that has qualified for the bassmaster classic through the opens, or ever made a professional tour (Bassmaster Elites or MLF) The entire field of professional anglers is made up of men, and most of the field in the opens categories, is also comprised of men. I have NEVER been a person who has made any of that a focal point in my message, or career. I have NEVER said females are oppressed, so I am not sure where that is coming from, I honestly feel like it is the exact opposite of oppressed, but the majority of women are intimated to compete at the highest level because as of yet, no one has succeeded. I believe it is a numbers game and myself and many others would love to see the day a woman breaks through and qualifies for the professional tour. Again, this has very little to do with recreational fishing and nothing to do with feeling oppressed. Even if there have been obstacles, I have never been one to even focus on obstacles, I focus on goals.

I’m one of the few in the kayak world that has followed you since your days as a musky fly angler ( back when you floated in a Jackson) You have not just set the bar and transcended angling for female anglers but you did it for us all. You have been the bar for many years and when you throw your hat in at the Bassmaster Classic I have a feeling you will again make a first ….. Kristine I anticipated some of this, and when we talked recently I wanted to ask you about it. Since we really do not know each other (I feel I know you through your videos) to dig into your life , in our 1st talks would have been a stretch on my part. You are obviously a special person to compete as you have and accomplish the many things you have. I hope I can make the April 20 meeting. I raised a daughter and I wish your drive and dedication would have been part of her DNA. Possibly my short coming. I got tears in my eyes listening to you pour your heart out, watching your posting a few minutes ago. My heart goes out to you. You’re special, that I understood when I first saw my 1st video of you on the water, when you put in calls to PA after each event. When you approached other anglers, your ethics, your morals set guidelines for all of us. Thank you. Hope to see you soon. David is attempting to get my trailer ready for the 20th.

As a father of three daughters, I’m rooting for you! I always told my girls that they could do anything they wanted in life. All became very successful in their career’s and family life. You’re a great role model for all the young ladies out there that may not have someone supporting them. Go get them!
Kristine, you are that example already! You are using your gifts to bless others, just keep doing that, keep being you! As a dad to two daughters, I encourage you to look beyond the classic and look at the way you are achieving these things. Set your sights on teaching girls those principles of how to achieve their dreams.
