Love the channel.HOWEVER AFTER WATCHING A FEW EPISODES.
    1. Get bigger bags.
    2. Precut smaller bags before you leave in the morning.
    3. Small foam blocks will keep the suits off and away from the back and shoulders and allow some air flow.
    4. Pregame. Walk up on the hive with a bag of bags, tape, and adhesive BEFORE you agitate them.
Just some things I have observed.....

I believe its best to do this at night when all the bees are inside the hive. If you do it in day light like, all of them who become orphans will form a cluster some where nearby and one of the bees will become a queen. Only she will be a drone laying queen because she was not mated. Which means thousands of africanized drones are unleashed to mate with good bees in the area and turn them aggressive like this colony. you should go back there at night with a red light flashlight which the bees can not see and eradicate them all. Thanks for the video.

AZ has it bad. In Texas you also have to be very careful with beekeeping. I have had a hive swarm and the new queen mate with an Africanized drone and ultimately become very aggressive. If they are a little aggressive you can requeen but a very aggressive hive is dangerous and euthanization is the responsible action. Suit up at night, close the entrance and pour alcohol into the hive (or water with dish detergent) and close it up for the day, this kills all the bees including the drones that spread the DNA. This and varroa make beekeeping a lot of responsibility compared to the old days unfortunately. These guys do a good job (and make it entertaining too). These things are dangerous and their sheer numbers can overtake you quickly.

When I run into a hot hive I suit up, do a Teranov split (I don’t have to Waste time finding the Queen). Let the old hive requeen itself. The Teranov split now has a much reduced colony of young bees which is easier to handle, I let them get started and about a week later pop the head off the Queen and let it requeen itself. Then I monitor until I am sure I don’t have a hot hive.
Why do you remove the top. If you want to dispatch a hive bag it all first.
If you insist on dispatching the hive Mano e Mano use a pump sprayer with water and dishwashing soap. Take off the lid and start hosing the soapy solution takes them down instantly and kills them because it blocks breathing entrances.
The nuke em all attitude makes for UA-cam drama but isn’t necessary and just alarms people who don’t understand. The biggest problems occur with a F1 cross keep crossing and selecting and you will have manageable bees.

Interesting. Wondering where you live. Letting any hive down here to 're-queen' itself is just job security for us. All queens are genetically Africanized. As a beekeeper myself in Colombia where all bees are Africanized and we don't have European genes, I'm wondering why you all didn't wait until evening when the foraging bees were back in the hive and simply seal the entrance/exits with wire mesh to prevent bees escaping? Normally, I have seen the use of trash bags to suffocate the bees as the risk to life is too great to continue with the "hot" genes of the hive. Were you just relocating this hive or destroying the colony to make room for a new one with a new European queen and nuc? If I'm completely honest, you all see very unprepared to be working with this hive...dropping equipment, walking away from the hive, not having everyone wearing full protection...having to go back to the truck for equipment that you should have had ready before opening the hive. I'm glad no one was hurt but this is not how you should approach hive rescue or destruction.

He didn't have his armed taped properly - nor did they tape around their feet. Why do people go lax on their suits like that? I would never do that crap if I did this. Well Mr. older wise guy was taped properly at least :) Oh and IT IS possible to do bee keeping in AZ - it's just a MASSIVE pain in the butt - and it is something typically only companies with well trained staff can pull off (Honey Hive Farms AZ). Let's just say the people who do this work are just as suited up if not more so as Killer Bee Guy - because yeah they gotta deal with mean hives and euthanize them quickly with soap water. Either that or they just deal with them the best they can.

    • @KillerBeeGuy

More vids coming! Also you are right-you can keep bees but it is a huge liability here in AZ. The law states that if your bees-specifically feral hives- sting someone you are liable. I think for most folks it's safer to buy local honey!

Your not new to the game, it’s your service, it’s what you advertise on your truck, it’s your specialty. You know that you need the adhesive, pin that junk on you like a bunch of f-ing grenades. In the military they would tell you to get your head out of your ass because your going into battle with nothing but a uniform. You left your weapons in the truck.
