@@herculesatan4514 Yes. It may happen in another world, but an isekai story is strictly defined by having the protagonist travel to a world that is different from his/her origin. Digimon is an Isekai. Alice in Wonder Land is an isekai. Lord of the rings is NOT an Isekai. It's not defined from the point of view of the reader.
To say this story is an isekai is the same as saying an F1 race car story is a mecha story "because the race car is a mechanical object".
And I want to make sure I'm clear here, I'm not hating on you or anything here. I know these definitions may not be clear to everyone. Hope it helps and I hope you have a good one! :D

bard loen is a really good one. nothing over the top, its a fantasy not an isekai, he is strong but not like "i was using .00000001% of my power" the man basically has no goals except being a bit of a foodie.
magic kind of exists, its there but not incredibly prevalent like isekai or most other fantasy stories.
if you're looking for something fresh(if you read brainrot isekai like me) with a unique protagonist who has a role to play, i reccomend this one.

It’s Japanese, and thus Korean/Chinese derivative, pop culture. They are obsessed with femininity and youth and so you rarely see stories like this which makes it a real treat to western audiences. The appreciation of cooking/wine is just icing.
This story is kinda sad, thinking about growing old and losing everything that you love and hold dear
But that’s the whole point. 🤔 this series is an amazing exploration of growth, maturity and doing what’s right even if you have to give up personal pleasures and finding pleasure in small things to make a fulfilling life. It’s so good- a masterclass of seinen masquerading as shonen.

This was a delightful change of pace for a story, focusing on the journey of an older veteran MC as he goes on his final adventure not for glory but for himself.
I also find it interesting with how much the MC looks like Joseph Joestar, he makes several references about breathing in regards to combat.

Real talk though I can't do these "Final quest to close out my life" stories. I was depressed the entire time It was an amazing story, but it is one of those that you know at the start that there will be no happy ending. He is just trying to find death on his own terms.
I think that’s the thing we all have to come to terms with though. Someday we will *all* die, so I see it more as a life without regrets. While we should be cautious, we also should endeavour to live lives that would make us proud. That was his one failing as a life, he only did his duty for most of his life without any consideration toward building his own legacy, a heartfelt sorrow i imagine we could all associate with at some point.
Even if he dies, his story seems to be becoming quite popular. He will inspire generations to come, just like he is inspiring us right now, even though he is a fictional character. That is the happiest ending any man can get.
I think it’s less of a sad ending and more of a somber one. Think about it, he is an aged warrior who is on the final legs of his life and he has chosen to spend it finding a meaningful end. In that time he has avenged a dear friend, stoped a conspiracy, saved dozens of villages, and had helped change the lives of countless people for the better. Death comes for us all but it’s how we live that defines us
Now this is a great manga! No OP, NO GIRLS DISTRACTING THE MC, NO CRAZY MAGIC OR DEMON LORDS, just plain old traveling

@@slevinchannel7589if your looking for something extremely wholesome I have a recommendation. “Dungeon no osajimi” it’s about an adventure and his childhood friend who’s a dungeon boss. It’s a slice of life story with plenty of comedy and stellar action scenes. The basic plot follows the dungeon bosses 4 main guards as they enjoy the budding romance between there queen and her friend. While it’s clear the queen has romantic feelings for him it’s left purposefully unclear if the feelings are mutual. All and all it’s insanely underrated

Is it bad that im sad that aidra married a different man instead of bard? And that they didn't end up together? I mean i think its quite clear that she like bard, a lot too, and that she felt too much guilt after the incident blaming herself that she shouldn't had went to the forest without bard leading bard to almost dying and also sustaining a lot of wounds, she blamed herself and her rashness as well as her fiery heart to explore and discover, so she instead went back to her father's residence, started tending to her responsibilities, the usual responsibility of a nobel girl, sealing herself inside her, accepting everything as she just let herself follow the path of girls of her same status, blockading her real feelings inside her as she complied with whatever responsibility she had to to, perhaps the arranged marriage, she didn't want it, but in fear and trauma of the incident while in face to face with danger that almost killed her if bard didn't appear on time as well as bard almost dying left something to her, so she thought she should just comply with her responsibilities and seal what she really felt, even if it means accepting an arranged marriage that she didn't even wanted (yes, i still haven't watched it fully, i only saw like until the 6:36)
Im sad that she just complied with the path sewn to people of the same status as her instead of following who she really is and what she really wanted
