Fetch was my last cat's favorite game. He was smart enough to know that if he brought the toy to me I would throw it for him to chase. He would play until he was exhausted and panting but having so much fun. He would start by putting the toy right next to your foot, if you didn't notice it, he would after a minute or so put it on or right next to your hand, if you pretended you still didn't notice, he would put his paw on your hand, if you kept playing dumb he would then poke you with his claws by extending them. His favorite spot in the apartment was tossing it into the kitchen, he would slide across the tile, pick up the toy, kick off the fridge and come rocketing back. For my dogs, it was always the toy being the most imprtant thing. For the cat, the chasing and catching the toy was the most important part. So the cat was better at the game than any dog, and trained himself (and me) to play.
