I would also add not repeatedly retelling others upsetting stories from your past. You are not in the past, focus on the now & future in spite of what happened or was done against you or others. This we do have some control over. 🤗

For maybe 13 years, less ideal scenarios had really taken a toll on me. I’m resilient but around year 9 it really took its toll. This channel and other resources (and therapy) are really a huge help in my journey regrounding myself in positivity and health.

Completely resonates. At work, the environment was increasingly and profoundly stressful over several years due to work load. My brain started automatically running anticipated dialogs with co-workers and clients, point/ counterpoint exchanges, practicing for conflict and feeding the stress. It took awhile to figure out to interrupt those dialogs with the mantra, "There is no conflict here, only love." Amazing relief.

    • @dr.frequency1716
      @dr.frequency1716 Рік тому +8

I had that same. Exact. Thing! I was always so stressed because of it. I started to capture my thoughts. Visually capture the thought (however you want to imagine doing that) and destroy that thought in my mind. Then right after that I'd tell myself, I don't need to think that way anymore. I think positively. And after a few days it worked so well that I noticed my jaw didn't hurt anymore(because of clinching) and I noticed those intrusive thoughts were like 98% gone!

I think pause is a keyword. Taking a pause before reacting; "does ruminating into this serve me or hurt me?" and being so blunt with self keeps ignorance from being on the table. In other words, we choose not to hide from what it is we are perpetuating into our experience. Instead, we see blatantly what it is we can choose as a response, and therefore have awareness of the direction we are choosing to follow.

Åi thank you on this video too. This helpes me explain to the people who does not understand, but wants to, how I cope with dramatic events and still can be me in my life.
This is the metode I did since childhood ~ by just trying to cope, go on, be me ~ I somehow naturally did not just go in to an imaginary world (i did that sometimes, but that didnt feel right for me) but instead ended up distancing myself slightly from the dramatic thing that had happened and the hurt and finding my inner safe spot or doing movements with my toes or so, or thinking, like this example, on an ok place I could be or go.
A huge thank you for putting this subject out into the air 💛 It has been actually a bit traumatic in it self to always be met by "Oh you think you have healed or gone on from this and that trauma, but you just dont see that you cant do that so you are misleading yourself" . I understand of course, that it can be difficult to know that it is possible and that, sometimes at least, the mind and body does it naturally and really do go on with a better understanding of self and okay healed again. The memories are still there, but the sweating, chock, playing dead or so, is gone 💜💚 and life can be good again.
    Thank you 🍃

thanks for the reminder. For some reason I've had the crystalline understanding and awareness of this science, and have stretches where I employ this awareness of attention rationally, yet occasionally it seems like there's something else within at play- perhaps, it's a dance with the primal undercurrent running through us all. sometimes I get thrown off by what seems to be what tide the hormones are in- when it comes to the "choice" in the space between sometimes we tap into what seems like dna driving the bus . practice, remembering, attention discipline is a hard road in this world. but nothing good comes easy, eh? neuroplasticity is real! amen

I'm so happy to find you. I was just given a massive amount of prednisone by a Doctor for poison ivy, but, after I caught her mistake (8 ) days later, I was asked if I had M.S.
I now out of work, "I work full-time with children that are medically fragile and have all kinds of syndromes and I also work part-time with an elderly man. Now, I'm at home waiting to feel better. Told by Doctors, "there is nothing they can do for me."
I have to wait it out, the Doctor told me.
I feel so down, scared, and my brain and nervous system are completely effected significantly.

As I have learnt more about the characteristics of being in a dorsal vagal freeze response, I feel increasing relief and optimism as well as self-awareness, that the situation that I am in is understood and that I can learn techniques and ways of thinking to end it. One part of my self-awareness if that I have an absence of dopamine. I am now consciously seeking to understand which types of activities boost my dopamine and to choose to do those.

If nothing else I am so grateful for everything I've learned on positivity and becoming a better version of myself, it's not been easy but it's worth it. Going Vegan 9 years ago was a massive move in becoming a better version of myself and I didn't die because I changed my diet so everything I'm doing from that moment is helping me evolve into a person I really like and I'm very proud of.

Totally understandable! Something like bed bugs is extremely stress inducing and puts us in a state of fight or flight while we try to solve the issue. Because I have had a near death illness and ot left me with likely brain demylination, which is rare and no one can give me answers, AND I am a retired RN with Masters, I cant stop clicking off complications and researching ad infinitum and get stuck there in an endless cycle downward. I instinctively when arriving home from hospital incessently player solitare, somehow now, I think this just came to me as an intentional direction away from the health anxiety I was suffering from. Its not gone, but God, Jesus and the abiltiy to gain positivity by watching prayer you tube videos, and various anxiety psych professional, Dr Russ Kennedy, Andrew Major were most helpful w mindfull meditation, EFT, box breathing etc. I created my own combination of breating techniques when I discovered a neuropsych md with a research focus who stated the parasympthetic nervous system is best calmed when exhalation is held longer than inhalation instead of other vagal nerve techniques. It looks similar to your breathing technique without snapping fingers etc. I'll try it. Im concerned about using so much anxiety training that it becomes a negative thing or expectation and wont work and become a self perpetuating cycle. My positive thoughts now involve God and Christ and I reinforce that with yt videos, prayer and studying the Word.

Well, no.. remove yourself physically from abusive parents, even if they're already dead, and abusive spouse, which can be dangerous and even life threatening, toxic work environments and bullying coworkers. Yes, ignore the news.. it mostly happens without you. Sounds like you need to try to set an hour every day to separate from the negativity and look for avenues of change. Be positive, but it sounds like your personal truth is negative and you won't get far living that truth.

So why is it again that we encourage anyone and everyone to go to therapy and talk about all the "traumas" in life? Does this not also lead to rumination and, in turn, a rise in systemic inflammation? In our modern society, are we not doing more harm than good by encouraging mental health practices that come with a bagload of iatrogenic effects?
