I would personally use harder mallets that produce a dark sound. I would use headphones, preferably airpods or a tape recorder with a good mic to record sound before importing it to my computer for editing. A lot of transitions feel off but your technique is pretty good. Awkward stances from time to time but that's just posture. Great job man.
Hello raycon. I appreciate your feedback. However, I respectfully disagree with some of the things you mentioned. -I chose the most versatile mallets I had at the time for my mallet choice. I wanted a graduated set of mallets with a wide range and got a variety of tones and colors out of the bars, which is why I chose the duo-toned Van Sice mallets. I found that they were great for the unmetered “rhythmic improvised wind chime section” and the rhythmic passages and many permutations in this piece. I recorded and edited this from my iPhone. a As for transitions, I think that is a personal preference thing. I wanted this piece to have some room to breathe if the section was not fast. I agree the posture of the feet was not the best, and it is something I am continuing to work on. However, I try to allow my upper body to move with the music to help further show my interpretation of this piece.
AMAZING! Thanks so much for playing! You’re a killer percussionist!
