We use TagLish a lot. We throw in english words in the middle of tagalog sentences because some tagalog words are too long to say or tagalog are just limited. In my case, I find it really difficult to speak *straight* tagalog than *straight* english so I use TagLish A LOT.😂 (But in formal settings or in school/academy, it should be ENGLISH only or FILIPINO only when writing papers.)

Also, the show, GGV, is a comedic talk show hosted by a comedian Vice Ganda. Guests there usually should really be a good sport because Vice makes fun of them a lot of times! Hahaha! 😝❤️

For us from the Visayan Region of the Philippines, we can do hodge-podge when we talk like we can speak Visaya plus Tagalog plus English in sentences sometimes. Example: Where diay mo go? It means "Where are you going?"It just comes out naturally but of course for the elders the kind of speaking is awkward to hear however conventionally in this present generation such a style of speaking has become informally acceptable, not in writing though. "Pangarap Ko Ang Ibigan Ka" is the title of the song which can be translated into English as " My dream is to love you." By the way in this video segment of Maganda Gabi Vice, Vice Ganda is challenging Mori to overcome some hurdles which shocks Mori at first that's why she says "unfair" because Vice Ganda hasn't done this to other singer guests in the past, but Mori humbly accepted it eventually.

Glad you had a great time watching this funny challenge. Morisette is truly one amazing, versatile artist and indeed, she's known as very grounded and kindhearted. FYI, most Filipinos speak straight English. However, somehow with the new generation, people tend to mix English & Tagalog together which I believe is spoken mostly by the young generation especially when they're with friends. Please check on Mori's cover of She Used to Be Mine from Broadway's Play, The Waitress originally by Sara Bareilles and her recent mash-up of Moon River/Usahay (in her Filipino Visayan dialect - with subtitles) from her channel. Finally, her live performance of I Want to Know What Love Is. You'll be more amazed with her longest whistle note ever! The link title is: MORISSETTE - I Want To Know What Love Is (MYX Live! Performance) Looking forward to more of your Mori's song reviews.🙂

Yazik, I love every minute and seconds of your reaction. Along with the other videos you’ve made especially reactions from Filipino artists. And to answer your question, yes! We use English and Filipino and mix them all up when we’re talking. And it may be weird to a lot of people who hears it but it’s pretty normal to us Filipinos. Looking forward to more of your video reactions and please do more reactions for Morissette or TNT boys .

Philippines rank second to third among the English speaking country in southeast Asia, first was Singapore, and also recognized globally as one of the English-speaking nation, having at least some degree of high fluency to speak English, and has always been our second official language. Most of us speak at least 3 or more language coz you know we have more than a hundred dialects, so yea.. we speak the native dialect, English and of course Tagalog our official language.. and so it is easy for us to switch to English and Tagalog at any conversation.

This challenge was on a National TV where the host was testing how Morissette could perform in different postures or positions. It was made for fun which the audience and TV watchers loved.

Both Filipino and English are equally being used mostly in the Philippine whenever we're having a conversation with other people regardless whether they're foreign or not. In schools, we have Nursery/Prep + Kinder + Grade School (6yrs) + Middle School (4yrs) + Senior High School (2yrs) + College (4-5yrs). So overall, we study English for like 18-20 years? So technically speaking, English is common.

Oh we do, Sir. We do speak English here in the Philippines. English is one of our subjects in school from primary, secondary until tertiary. But I'm sad because Philippines ranked very very low in terms of reading comprehension.

She's really humble and respectful. She's saying "po" which we Filipinos say as respect towards the person we're talking to. The upside down birit challenge was done in the same show by Jona. She's one of the whistlers here in PH as Mori. here is the link for you. ua-cam.com/video/9zqSYGpBrmQ/v-deo.html
