When I use to snort roxys everyday people never said shit to me. I stopped the pain pills. Got sober. And people started saying I was on somthing. I wasn’t the same person. 😂😂😂. I'm a recovering alcoholic. This December 31st will be 10 years sober. People never let you forget your past. I was in the store with my friend. We ran into someone we hadn't seen in a while. She called my friend later that night to ask why she was hanging around a drunk? At that point, I was sober over 9 years but still being called a drunk. It had only been about 6 months since that girl and I had talked. She knew my story, my recovery and how much my life had improved but i’ll always be a drunk to some people and that’s not my problem. I can't let it be. I don't need to prove anything to anyone. Post looked stoned on weed. Not meth, coke or pills.

Yeah, and pills are definitely hard drugs in my book. I've tried nearly every type of drug out there, but the funny thing about pills? No one sticks to the diluted crap (like Vicodin), it always escalates. The other possibility would've been meth in pill form, which people still don't believe is meth for some reason. Don't take adhd meds if you don't have adhd. And even if you Do have adhd, don't assume it won't become obvious when you are on drugs. The only drugs I'd do these days (besides alcohol and tobacco) would be hallucinogens. But I wouldn't be lying to myself acting like it's not a hard drug. There are risks involved with doing any drug, but doing the drug tends to blind you to yourself.

I truly understand this post!!! I did better for myself and was off heroine for at least 5-6 years but because I lost weight and had mad energy everyone I knew thought I was back on drugs. I wasn’t I was clean as a a whistle. It’s been over 10 years now and I still haven’t gotten close to ever thinking about going back. I found a new love in life and it was my body, mind and soul

Ive been fat most of my adult life but when i went through a breakup i decided to focus on my health mental and physical I lost some weight and people automatically assumed i was on drugs..these were the same people that used go talk about me behind my back whrn i was heavier. You just have to live and let live.
For two years I kept losing weight and we couldn’t figure out what was going on… I went from 150lbs to 102 and a size 2 in pants, that were still slightly loose (I’m 5’ 6” so 102 is very underweight for my height). People started asking my husband if I was sick, had an ED, was on drugs etc. I was hearing how horrible I looked and I must be on something or struggling with an ED. My husband would try and force me to eat a full sized dinner (which I haven’t done since I was in my 20’s - I’m 43 now) when he knew I never usually ate dinner and when I did, it was always small. I’ve always been a “grazer” (eating small stuff throughout the day and usually always unhealthy stuff) and not a “meal person”. Long story short, I completely understand. Now it’s 2024 and I keep GAINING weight and don’t know why 🤦🏼♀️ nothing has changed with my eating habits or physically activity 🙄

It's part of the obesity epidemic. people are glorifying obesity under the false notion of "body positivity" and it's made people forget that all you have to do to be fit is just eat less, eat better, and move around a bit. I have had old friends and my own family assume I was on meth or some hard drug cause I am very skinny. Really I was starving myself due to depression. I basically felt like I wasn't good enough to eat; like less than human. People really need to either mind their business or at least ask the person if they are ok. Build each other up. I had severe cystic acne & went through extreme bullying as a young teen. As a result I tried to unalive myself & I still have PTSD, severe social anxiety & borderline agoraphobia. Because of my acne scars, being extremely fidgety & anxious and being so insecure & stressed in public, I have had many ppl assume it's drugs instead of what it actually is... extreme trauma!

Same thing happened to me brother. Lost 130 pounds as of Nov of last year. im at a great weight now I literally had two employees pull me aside asking if I was ok. Come to find out there was a rumor going around that I started using heavy drugs and me dropping a insane amount of weight was the concern. I didn't want the people I work with knowing I was having the surgery. Almost felt like I needed to make a public service announcement that my weight loss isnt because of drugs. I got so many little comments about how I looked most of them I brushed off. There were some that really hurt my feelings mostly the ones that were in regards to me being more attractive as a heavy set guy or " I liked you better fat" I'm a single dad of 3 i am just doing my best to live a healthier life and teach my kids and lead by example.
At this point, it's time to stop giving a single solitary ounce of a fuck about what people think. This world will take anything you do and twist it around to suit their projections of you, no matter how well intentioned you are.

This is a great example of why you just need to live your life, be happy and not worry what other people think because The world and other people generally don't want to see you winning and will do or say whatever to try and bring you down.
There's a difference between "I'm high" and "My drug use is problematic" -which is usually what someone means by saying "YOU are on drugs." Maybe it seems like a small point, but it's really not. I know ZERO people thought I was "maybe just happy" when they saw me during my years of problematic drug use. At best, you're maintaining from fix to fix, but mostly you've forgotten what "happy" feels like.

I've been losing weight, and I'm a sober (four years) drug addict. The first thing people think is that I relapsed. Especially because when I lose weight, my face becomes gaunt. Obviously, I don't have thousands or millions of people thinking I'm high. But I can absolutely relate to the fact that people automatically assume I'm high. And no I don't have to explain anything to anyone. But I still do. Maybe when I have more sobriety it won't bother me as much. ❤
Same situation for me right now . I’m 5, 8 and went from 185 to 140 . Started in Jan losing weight and immediately people were all questioning me how I’m doing . Funny thing is 140 has always been my normal weight . But in 2017 I gained a bunch. Everybody at work would always joke saying I would never lose weight again and calling me fat (jokingly talking shit). But now everybody is all worried lol
I was smoking weed alot and gained alot of weight because of the munchies but when I stopped smoking my appetite went way down. I lost 15 pounds in a week

I've been sober from heroin since 2014. I lost a bunch of weight around my 3 year mark because of how physically demanding my job at the time was. My family wondered the same thing. Since then I've fluctuated in weight twice. But after the 5 year mark they stop wondering. Been nearly 10 years now and we don't even talk about it anymore, it feels like it was a different life in a different timeline.
People don’t understand that once you finally find some peace in life or some type of reasoning to fight, you actually become happy and more outgoing than before. So they assume you’re on the drug’s still when you’re just finally happy to be free. You can’t win them all so let your little win’s over these huge battle’s be the best achievement in life and go live♥️

I lost 60lbs in 6 months from almost sheer determination and a will to protect my family, and on a day when I took preworkout to make it through what I thought was a 13hr shift that got cut short at 8. I then went to see my neices and nephew and had a crazy fun “overgrown child” moment with both my 7yr old niece and my 6yr old daughter as well as my 3yr old niece who couldn’t stop laughing, I get called a methhead for finally, truly trying to take care of myself and losing an amount of weight even I can’t truly explain. Wasn’t ever drugs but now my niece and nephew hate me and I ain’t even posty! Love you man keep it up! I will too!
I got accused of being on drugs when I was severely depressed and my anxiety was at an all-time high. Now, I constantly fear and have anxiety about my family thinking in the back of their minds that I'm a degenerate drug addict bc of the lies of one person. Don't assume anything. Many "symptoms of drug use" are also symptoms of many other things.
They did the same to me when I was diagnosed with thyroid disease, and they truly thought I was strung out. Mean while I was so sick, lost 60 lbs in 3 months, and the heart issues were crucial. But the most painful thing came from friends who were not really my friends. Don't just assume everyone is on drugs.

I'm a recovering alcoholic. This December 31st will be 10 years sober. People never let you forget your past. I was in the store with my friend. We ran into someone we hadn't seen in a while. She called my friend later that night to ask why she was hanging around a drunk? At that point, I was sober over 9 years but still being called a drunk. It had only been about 6 months since that girl and I had talked. She knew my story, my recovery and how much my life had improved but i’ll always be a drunk to some people and that’s not my problem. I can't let it be. I don't need to prove anything to anyone. Post looked stoned on weed. Not meth, coke or pills.
I don’t have substance abuse issues, but I do know that people will NEVER let you forget, ever.

Yeah, and pills are definitely hard drugs in my book. I've tried nearly every type of drug out there, but the funny thing about pills? No one sticks to the diluted crap (like Vicodin), it always escalates.
The other possibility would've been meth in pill form, which people still don't believe is meth for some reason. Don't take adhd meds if you don't have adhd. And even if you Do have adhd, don't assume it won't become obvious when you are on drugs.
The only drugs I'd do these days (besides alcohol and tobacco) would be hallucinogens. But I wouldn't be lying to myself acting like it's not a hard drug. There are risks involved with doing any drug, but doing the drug tends to blind you to yourself.

I truly understand this post!!! I did better for myself and was off heroine for at least 5-6 years but because I lost weight and had mad energy everyone I knew thought I was back on drugs. I wasn’t I was clean as a a whistle. It’s been over 10 years now and I still haven’t gotten close to ever thinking about going back. I found a new love in life and it was my body, mind and soul

Ive been fat most of my adult life but when i went through a breakup i decided to focus on my health mental and physical I lost some weight and people automatically assumed i was on drugs..these were the same people that used go talk about me behind my back whrn i was heavier. You just have to live and let live.
For two years I kept losing weight and we couldn’t figure out what was going on… I went from 150lbs to 102 and a size 2 in pants, that were still slightly loose (I’m 5’ 6” so 102 is very underweight for my height). People started asking my husband if I was sick, had an ED, was on drugs etc. I was hearing how horrible
I looked and I must be on something or struggling with an ED. My husband would try and force me to eat a full sized dinner (which I haven’t done since I was in my 20’s - I’m 43 now) when he knew I never usually ate dinner and when I did, it was always small. I’ve always been a “grazer” (eating small stuff throughout the day and usually always unhealthy stuff) and not a “meal person”. Long story short, I completely understand. Now it’s 2024 and I keep GAINING weight and don’t know why 🤦🏼♀️ nothing has changed with my eating habits or physically activity 🙄

I have had old friends and my own family assume I was on meth or some hard drug cause I am very skinny. Really I was starving myself due to depression. I basically felt like I wasn't good enough to eat; like less than human. People really need to either mind their business or at least ask the person if they are ok. Build each other up. Not say stupid crap like "welp must be drugs". That mindset is horrible and helps no one. Glad Posty said this I can relate heavy. I know he is the best Dad ever. Keep killing the game Posty💪💪💪🤜🤛

I had severe cystic acne & went through extreme bullying as a young teen. As a result I tried to unalive myself & I still have PTSD, severe social anxiety & borderline agoraphobia. Because of my acne scars, being extremely fidgety & anxious and being so insecure & stressed in public, I have had many ppl assume it's drugs instead of what it actually is... extreme trauma!

Same. 44 and I never saw it coming. I figured he was just some shiddy hip flavor of the week. Time showed me he is actually a real artist that spans many genres and the guy has this prophet like energy about him. Same thing happened to me brother. Lost 130 pounds as of Nov of last year. im at a great weight now I literally had two employees pull me aside asking if I was ok. Come to find out there was a rumor going around that I started using heavy drugs and me dropping a insane amount of weight was the concern. I didn't want the people I work with knowing I was having the surgery. Almost felt like I needed to make a public service announcement that my weight loss isnt because of drugs. I got so many little comments about how I looked most of them I brushed off. There were some that really hurt my feelings mostly the ones that were in regards to me being more attractive as a heavy set guy or " I liked you better fat" I'm a single dad of 3 i am just doing my best to live a healthier life and teach my kids and lead by example.
At this point, it's time to stop giving a single solitary ounce of a fuck about what people think. This world will take anything you do and twist it around to suit their projections of you, no matter how well intentioned you are.
Same thing here brother , I lost 70 pounds and got in shape again , and everyone at work just asks suspiciously "uh so how'd you lose all that weight ?" and yeah the "are you ok " are you sick " or they think I'm on meth lol , people just can't handle people actually bettering themselves

I just want to say, props to you. It takes a lot of work and dedication to lose weight, & also surgery is really intense and scary and as a single dad that must have been a hard decision/ acceptance to make. Whatever the case may be, you’re amazing.

There's a difference between "I'm high" and "My drug use is problematic" -which is usually what someone means by saying "YOU are on drugs." Maybe it seems like a small point, but it's really not. I know ZERO people thought I was "maybe just happy" when they saw me during my years of problematic drug use. At best, you're maintaining from fix to fix, but mostly you've forgotten what "happy" feels like.

Well I think the point that Post Malone is making is that... you as a viewer don't HAVE to tell... its not really your business. but internet culture has people thinking their thoughts/opinions about any and everything is valid and speak them like fact. when its not. read comments and notice how many people who aren't qualified try to diagnose any and everything publicly. noone can stop you from feeling some type of way about something. not even yourself. but all the projection is unhealthy for everyone. i feel. (this goes for the negative and positive side of things. people tear down good people based off nothing tangible, and put celebrities on high horses like they are perfect beings. then in 5 years bad news about them comes out...)

I've been losing weight, and I'm a sober (four years) drug addict. The first thing people think is that I relapsed. Especially because when I lose weight, my face becomes gaunt. Obviously, I don't have thousands or millions of people thinking I'm high. But I can absolutely relate to the fact that people automatically assume I'm high. And no I don't have to explain anything to anyone. But I still do. Maybe when I have more sobriety it won't bother me as much. ❤
Same situation for me right now . I’m 5, 8 and went from 185 to 140 . Started in Jan losing weight and immediately people were all questioning me how I’m doing . Funny thing is 140 has always been my normal weight . But in 2017 I gained a bunch. Everybody at work would always joke saying I would never lose weight again and calling me fat (jokingly talking shit). But now everybody is all worried lol

I was smoking weed alot and gained alot of weight because of the munchies but when I stopped smoking my appetite went way down. I lost 15 pounds in a week

I've been sober from heroin since 2014. I lost a bunch of weight around my 3 year mark because of how physically demanding my job at the time was. My family wondered the same thing.
Since then I've fluctuated in weight twice. But after the 5 year mark they stop wondering.
Been nearly 10 years now and we don't even talk about it anymore, it feels like it was a different life in a different timeline.

I lost 60lbs in 6 months from almost sheer determination and a will to protect my family, and on a day when I took preworkout to make it through what I thought was a 13hr shift that got cut short at 8. I then went to see my neices and nephew and had a crazy fun “overgrown child” moment with both my 7yr old niece and my 6yr old daughter as well as my 3yr old niece who couldn’t stop laughing, I get called a methhead for finally, truly trying to take care of myself and losing an amount of weight even I can’t truly explain.
Wasn’t ever drugs but now my niece and nephew hate me and I ain’t even posty!

I got accused of being on drugs when I was severely depressed and my anxiety was at an all-time high. Now, I constantly fear and have anxiety about my family thinking in the back of their minds that I'm a degenerate drug addict bc of the lies of one person. Don't assume anything. Many "symptoms of drug use" are also symptoms of many other things.

They did the same to me when I was diagnosed with thyroid disease, and they truly thought I was strung out. Mean while I was so sick, lost 60 lbs in 3 months, and the heart issues were crucial. But the most painful thing came from friends who were not really my friends. Don't just assume everyone is on drugs.
