- Lego WWII B-25J-1 Mitchell Bomber
Coming in at 1137 pieces, over 150 decals, and about 15 hours of build time this has got to be the crown jewel of my collection. Truly armed to the teeth with 12 50 Caliber Browning M2s and a load capacity of 1600 kgs of bombs the B-25 was a must have for my collection.
The B-25 was a medium range American bomber introduced in 1941 and saw service in every theater of the war. Originally intended as a medium range bomber it also took on other ground attack roles as a gunship. The version I have depicted here is the B-25J-1 which carried both bomber and gunship capabilities. The fixed 50 cals were left in the bombardiers compartment from the B-25D and the turret was kept in the more forward position like the previous H models.
While being so heavily armed the B-25 was also no stranger to taking as many hits as it could dish out even being able to sustain flight on just one of its Wright R-2600-29 engines. And with the engines being short stacked all of the noise and exhaust would come right at the pilots resulting in hearing loss for lots of airmen.
This model was heavily inspired by Maelven and Dornbi on Flikr.

Great build! Can’t wait to see a new moc!
This basic design's existed for years (I remember reverse-engineering one from Flickr), great work in your version and the plane looks sweet as always! Probably the best of this B-25 design that I've seen, the colour scheme and decals really help it to capture the essence.
The "spinning" props were clever too. Never seen that done before.
Yes the basis of the design is from maelven on flikr it was a really good jumping off point. And thanks you!
