- This can be a very tricky repair or Maintenace if the filter has been in the unit for a few years.
I have been told of people being charged as much a $1,000.00 to replace the inlet water fitting.
With the tool (Thattanklesstool.com) the removal of the filter cap is a breeze.
If you follow my video this job should only take you about 15 to 20 minutes and you don't have to charge the customer and are and a leg.

I ordered 2 new filters from amazon and they came with an aluminum piece that had a cut out that went around the "tabs"! Perfect!! I had broke part of tab off trying the needle nose pliers and this solved the problem.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I’m a Homeowner DIYer who has this exact problem with my Rinnai R94LS. After watching this video I realized I need a professional to do it and I’m hoping he is half as good as you are. Thank you for this Video
"Bob's your uncle" Merry Christmas!
Great video. I flushed my Rinnai heater (RL941) and for the life of me could not turn the hot and cold water valves off by hand so I used a pair of channel locks which marred the handles pretty bad. I do not like the way they look now. Where can I buy just those 2 red and blue handles?
