Great video. Watched and the fixed my dishwasher. I’ll add first thing is turn off breaker to appliance.
Very good,
Thank you 👍
Thank you very much for showing me how to do the replacement heater / pump job. My 6 year old Bosch was fixed in half an hour and worked with out leaks or electrical failure. You gave me confidence. Thanks from a Kiwi.
Wow, very impressive Paul👍😊
Classic case of planned obsolescence. Thanks for empowering people to fix their own stuff. I have 2 left hands but I hope I can do it with your video. Thanks!
Edit: the replacement part is almost as expensive as the whole dishwasher here. €350. Guess I’m going to have to buy a whole new one
Can you try shopping a little more.
I’ve seen Amazon sell them for around $90.00
Excellent help.
I’ve just replaced the pump on a Bosh model very similar to this
one. The only observations I would make that apply to my model (SMS40C02GB) are:
• The black control board cover is white and is attached firmly to the control board box. The cover cannot be easily removed from the control box without some force and broken clips. The correct technique is:
o Using a screwdriver, push in the 2 tabs on the control box facing you to release it. You may have to hold them in the released position.
o Using a flat head screwdriver, from the rear of the machine, push upwards on the mains connector. It is part of the control box and sits in a slot in the rear panel. The whole control box and mains connector slide upwards. This should release the control box. It can then be removed from the machine by lots of wiggling and fiddling until you get it in the correct position. No need to force it if you get in to the correct angle.
· The permanent clamp on the outlet pipe was
almost impossible to get access to, in order to loosen it. However, I found
that by just wiggling the pump and applying downward pressure the pump released
from the rubber pipe/clamp surprisingly easily. This saved a lot of swearing.
Thanks so much👍
Thanks for this. I got the error message, after watching this I bought a new heater/pump from Bosch Australia, cost $145. My husband replaced it yesterday and working a treat thanks. My husband has replaced the power pack and another part about a year ago so gratefully I haven't had to get the repairman in. When the power pack failed the local repairman recommended buying a new dishwasher. To replace this Bosch would be around $1300AUS so not something I wanted to do. The power pack cost just over $200 and the other part was only around $30. Anyways saved me having to buy another dishwasher.

Thank you! Great video. I was able to easily fix mine after watching.
Thanks so much Jim👍😊
Thank you so much for your great Video, was looking at taking the base off then saw your video. Replaced part in about 15 minutes. Easy, great instruction, Appreciate it. Noticed that my sump was loose and leaking in the past. Hence the shorted out heating element. Thanks again.
Thanks Kurt,
You’re very welcome 😊👍
I wish you had a link to the actual part used in the video. I would have used your link...
Great video man!!!!!! The instructions couldnt be more clear!!!
Awesome,
Thanks so much Daniel 😊
Not gonna lie that looks like the solution to my problem thanks for the heads up !
Awesome,
I hope that helps you fix it👍
Amazing! Perfect instruction. Thank you!!!
Awesome,
Thanks Kyle😊👍
Very easy to follow, thank you.
You’re welcome😊
Thanks so much for this. Is E09 always the heating unit in the pump? I read somewhere E09 means a heating component has failed. What made you realize this was the faulty part?
No longer heating the water.
Very common with this model.
Hi Michael, how you solve this error? What is suggestion from your side? Thanks 😊
My dishwasher seems to not have hot water when cleaning. And I think that is the reason why the plates are cleaned poorly. Could this fix the issue if I do this?
Do you know what size hose clamp I'd have to buy in order to reattach it? Thanks! Great video.

Thanks Todd👍
Thank you for a great video!
You’re welcome 👍😊
Thx. Raymond....
It’s the least I could do for you after watching so many of my episodes of EVERYONE LOVES RAYMOND😂😂😂 Don’t think I’ll ever go back to sitcoms.
I have model SHX68T55UC/07 - is this the same repair process? I believe mine is an “800 series”… somewhere else on teh internet I read that my repair is harder and not as much DIY?? I am getting the E:09 code and the dishwasher runs but doesn’t heat up. The video makes it look easy but not sure my model is repaired same way?

We’ll Get It Fixed 👍
Dishwasher is still running great after fixing it with this part based on your advice!! Thanks again!!
Where's the link for the part?
Did you replace it with a new part, or just clean it?
Great question.
This one can only be solved by replacing the faulty circulation/heater.
One helpful tip I've found out is to use a wet and dry vacuum and suck from the drainage pipe
Good idea Matt👍
was this on a series 4 or series 6 model? I've got a series 4 with the same error code. A contractor came in to look at it, charged me a 160 buck call out fee and suggested he would need to take it to a workshop and spend longer on the install because the series 4 models are fully enclosed and hard to dismantle onsite. wanted to charge me 500 bux aud and then another 200 to change the ECU/ control panel just in case...didn't sound right
Can you post your model number 👍

I just checked the diagram.
It should be easy just like in the video.

Will this one work?
Bosch Dishwasher Heat Pump
12008381
I just replaced the heating element. I was getting a e 9 code.
Now I just finished a dishwashing cycle with the new heating element and I am now receiving a e 11 code. I have hot water so I don’t know what it can be.
Same here did you ever solve it?

I ended up calling a Bosch technician and she changed the heating element again and it finally worked. I used a defective heating element so be careful where you buy your parts.
So you just cleaned it correct?
Just need to clean it👍
I can't believe mine failed not even 8 months old.
Those new heater/circulation pumps are major crap.
Yeah I'm thinking about throwing this one out in front of Bosch's headquarters if they won't cover it under warranty 🤣
Do you want collaboration with us ??
