a HUGE THANK YOU to Tomi Your Trades Guy! I watched your video and followed all the steps you laid out, and for a 68-year-old woman who has absolutely no experience of this kind, I succeeded in fixing the problem! you're amazing, and I want to thank you for taking the time to make the video and to explain the process in detail... you're the kind of person who keeps my faith in humanity going... thank you again, Lisa
"Hi Lisa, thank you so much for sharing your experience! It's incredibly inspiring to hear how you successfully tackled the issue with the help of my video. I wish you all the best! Thanks 👍😊
I agree, Susanna. I tend to panic around all things mechanical - and Tomi walked us through it so clearly and well it gave me confidence. I echo the big THANK YOU.
Good video! A couple of more tips...ALWAYS run your garbage disposal with plenty of water before using the dishwasher. Many times, the dishwasher drain line connects to the garbage disposal under the sink with a "Y" type connector. If you have an "air gap" device on top of your sink counter, take off the cap and then pull out the plastic fitting on top of the hose with a pair of pliers. Inside you may find an obstruction...the tubing inside this is only about 3/8 to 1/2 diameter so it doesn't take much. Then follow Tomi's instructions on how to force a drain cycle (select any cycle, turn it to "On", then hold the button again for 3 seconds. The timer will change (at least on mine) to 1 min. Close the door and hopefully you will hear the pump draining out any remaining water. Once it's done go ahead a run a cycle to see if it's really fixed. Good luck!
MY MAN! I took apart my entire dishwasher line, cleaned the filter constantly, and did all other manner of troubleshooting to no avail. You were totally on the money about the dishwasher air gap - hadn't checked it, and it was slightly obstructed, totally seizing the entire unit. Cleared it out super easily, and now it runs great!
Yes the time I did this repair it was a piece of a wine glass in the exact same place. Don't even have to bail the DW. Good analysis. And thanks, I didn't know that little pump wheel was in there behind the clip or the trick about holding the reset.
"Hey there! Glad I could help with your repair. It's surprising how a small piece could cause such an issue. That little pump wheel can be quite tricky to spot! I'm always happy to share some insights. 😁 thanks for taking time to write back! 👍
@@tomiyourtradesguy6708 With rental property and 7 or 8 dishwashers over 15 years I've only seen this happen the once but headed out to fix my second with this error code tomorrow. I bet it is the sink connection but I'll be sure to pack my shop vac also a good idea!

I have been at my Bosch dishwasher E-24 drain issue for over 3 weeks and watched many UA-cam videos to no avail. FInally saw your suggestion on solutions to the drainage problem and after weeks of hand washing dishes the dishwasher is working. Thank you!!
Excellent Video! Very easy to understand the step by step, the videography was well executed and above all, I found my problem at the fitting at end of drain hose just like yours. I had egg shell blockage. Now I know what to look for and expect going forward. Thank you.
We've been getting the E24 code for a couple years and I searched YT for videos, but nothing seemed to apply or the advice was to start buying parts. But if I'd restart it, it would run, so I let it be. Lately I'd have to restart 4 or 5 times, so I went to the Bosch site for info, but all the PDFs were un-openable. Then I went back to YT yesterday and found your video, followed your procedure this morning and it's running like new. I was finally at the point to call a repairman or even wondering if we needed a new washer, thinking the problem was in the control panel. You've saved me a service call at minimum or a lot more. I'm subscribed. Thanks man!

Thank you so much. Today I booked someone to fix my Bosch as it wasn’t pumping the water out. I live out of town and was told they would send someone in four weeks and the base call-out fee is $157 Aussie dollars. I watched your video and followed your advice. I found a blockage in the connection into the sink down pipe. You have saved me dollars and time not having to handwash all my dishes. Thank you, thank you, thank you. ❤️🌺
I had a washer that would not drain completely and jump to the Clean indicator after a few minutes of running. I've watched a ton of videos on YT and tried all of the suggestions with no success. I was about to cave in a buy a new washer but then I found your video. The part that most videos don't mention, and the trick that did it for me, was where you explain to check the hose connection to the plumbing. I found debris in the narrow opening and was able to clear it out. My washer works as good as new now. Thank you for the video and I appreciate you sharing your knowledge!

Thank you so much for this video! It is very well done and shows the proper way to fix this problem! Not only does the error code not show up,, but our dishwasher works perfectly now. (Previously it took 4 hours to do a normal 2 hour cycle) I had much more confidence removing the hose connection to the drain after watching you do it.
Thank you for this comment. Appreciate you taking time to write this. There is another way to reduce 5-10 minutes from wash cycle is to get hotter water to enter diswaser. As long as your diswaser water supply is coming from your hot kitchen tap. You can run hot water at the kitchen sink for 30sec... then start diswaser. This will reduce time that diswaser needs to heat up water for wash cycle. 🙂👍
I was getting the E24 error message intermittently. I followed your instructions and found a small piece of plastic in the pump impeller. I think that has solved the problem. Thank you.
Your vid solved my Bosch E-24 failure to drain problem. My blockage was identical to yours sans the broken glass. A plug of gunk at the end of the drain hose resembling a champagne cork when I pulled it out. Many thanks.

Thank you Thank you....followed your video step step by step cleared the drain pump area and the hose... found material both areas...works great now!!!!!
Thank you. Your video was very helpful. A piece of plastic handle from a steak knife broke off and was trapped at the same spot that you found a piece of glass.
Are Bosch dishwasher set an E 24 tonight. When we came back it was not running. I found your video it was very helpful. I took the hose right off of the drain it wasn’t plugged the screen in the dishwasher looked OK to. So I poured a gallon of water in the bottom of the dishwasher put the hose back in the bucket and set it to pump out the water and from there was two pieces of plastic that came out. Put the hose back on the drain. Works good now. Thank you very much for the video it solved the problem
Thank you My protblem E24 is solve, but that cover is not easy to place properly. Mine was not where it belong, it was in the bottom of the cavity. Now it pumps the water properly. Very good explanation. From Montreal Quebec

Two drawer glides. One on each side of the tub. Pull them both out. Balance the top rack on your knee. Lift the rack so the rear rollers roll on top of each of the glides. Pull each glide further out of the tub. Lift the outside edge of the rack using your third and fourth hands. With your first and second hands, pull each glide into the *second* wheel assembly on each side of the rack. Push the rack into the tub.
Thank you that is so incredibly helpful. Thanks to you my dishwasher is running beautifully again. I’m so proud of myself and grateful to you for sharing your knowledge so nicely

What a great video actually fix my dishwasher thank you so much. How do I put the top rack back in now?? I forget how it looked!!
