We are three tenor 1s in our choir and every time something sounds weird we al kinda look at each other like: Was it me? Was it you? I don’t know, I don’t even know what Note we were supposed to sing anyways!
In the terms of my choir director: Sopranos/Mezzos: “It was the Altos!!” Altos: “it was the Bass/Baritones!” Baritones/basses:..”...It was us...” (True story...)
I saw this one meme that I think was the most accurate Choir Director: someone messed up Sopranos:it was the altos Altos :it was us Tenors: someone messed up Basses: what page are we on
do y'all have to do the rlly uncomfortable poses @ concerts too like "hands at your side, legs shoulder width apart and I SWEAR TO GOD IF YOU BREATHE AT THE WRONG TIME YOU'RE OUT "
Dihr Deep i wouldn't say that's weird at this point since it's drilled into my choir's heads. When we went to competitions some choirs didn't stand right and it made them look so bad so it's pretty important
For an alto-Soprano switch (I can switch from alto to soprano) I actually find that folding my hands across my stomach helps with my breathing. But on our way to a music festival, our teacher said “IF ANY OF YOU BREATHE WITH YOUR SHOULDERS AND I SEE IT ILL THROW SNACKS AT YOU FROM THE BALCONY!” So then we all joked she’d be shooting Pringle’s at us with a t shirt cannon.
I'm more inclined to forget the altos exist. Then again, I'm a tenor and when I think alto I usually think P!nk, Adele, Fiona Apple and Lzzy Hale not a slightly lower mezzo.
Haha really? We must have a weird choir then. 😂😂 The sopranos are basically worshiped in every way, the altos are _always_ too quiet, the tenors talk too much and the basses are in what my chorus director likes to call “the depths of despair” (really, really, low).
I went from Soprano (8th grade) to Mezzo with a high range (9th) to a low alto (10th) to an everything (11th) I’ve been known to learn the bass or tenor part and sing with them just because they need help
My choir: Sopranos: way to loud please be quieter, you don't have the melody there Altos: pretty much don't even exist Tenors: the only ones that actually sound good but have the hardest time finding notes Basses: the ones that everyone loves even though they always sing the tenor part
Lol my orchestra just got done rehearsing with the choir and oh my god we need a prayer. Our choral director doesn't know how to cue in an orchestra and wrote in our music one bar of rest when he meant 32...
I started laughing at this because of how true it was and my non-chorus friend asked me what I was laughing at. I showed her the solfege one and she looked at me like I was insane. She didn’t get any of it 😂
I HATE THAT EXSERCISE, but on Fridays we sing Aren't we glad that it is Frkday, yes we are! And super bubble gum, and I had a cat with 9 lives, those will be the death of me but they are so fun because we get really comletitive and get ahead of the piano
I haven’t been in choir in 7 years since I graduated HS (had been in choir for nearly 10), and I STILL feel personally attacked at the accuracy of the “alto” part.
I remember in middle school I wanted to go into the play but I was the only girl with a contralto voice in the school. Let's just say that since that was the case I could never hit the higher notes that the teacher wanted me to sing. So she kinda kicked me out of the play because of it and whenever I went into music class she would find anyway to get me to fail. So yeah I hated to sing ever since especially in front of others.
Soprano 1s: Screaming with unnecessary Vibrato, having contested to see who can sing higher Soprano 2s/Mezzos: are actually the chillest people ever and just silently judge the Sop-1s Altos: Tenors: I’m in an endless cycle of pushing my voice higher and higher that can only end in death or eternal pain Baritones: I swear to god guys I’m actually just a Tenor II Basses: *breathes Choir director: WTF BASSES I CAN’T BELIEVE YOU ALWAYS MESS UP LITERALLY YOU ARE THE WORST SECTION YOU MAKE ME WANT TO QUIT MY JOB AND BECOME A HAIR STYLIST
As someone who plays in orchestra, I have many friends in choir who like to talk shit ab each other and other choir members and this basically sums up everything they tell me after a concert.
I will never forget my senior year at our spring concert that our teacher had recorded and put on CDs during one of my fave songs the 2nd sopranos messed up and missed they’re WHOLE ENTRANCE! Like 2 of them had started to sing it then they stopped when they realized the rest of their section wasn’t singing like damn. Y’all should’ve kept singing so that it looked like a quick solo. I mean mugged them from across the stage
The breathing exercises one got me
Rightt
Look up Tony leach vocal excersizes and go to speech to song😂😂you wont regret it
Sameee! 🤣
Band is the same way😂
Ikr
As a choir kid I can say this is 100% accurate
As a choir kid, I'd say 75% accurate
specially for showchoir lol definitely cause we just 🤣
Alex Dowie indeed 😂
Same
Omg yes lol
When you choke on air during breathing exercises
When you have an asthma attack because of breathing excersises and then you have to take a breath every two seconds
Being in Choir I can confirm that this is accurate especially the ones about the different ranges lol
Awkward Silence I can go all the way up to high So I am glad to be a soprano 1
Susie Melirosa wow👏 good for you, a lot of altos can too
Lol
Same 😂
we did a Christmas mashup and i was in falsetto the whole time
Someone makes a mistake:
Conductor: *?*
Sopranos: it was the altos
Altos: it was us
Tenors: there was a mistake?
Basses: what page are we on
the struggle
Yo my choir teacher has a shirt that says exactly this
Hilarious!!😆

@@wowsothisismylife3637 That's so true!!!!
Wow So this is my life yeah that’s the one I usually see

do y'all have to do the rlly uncomfortable poses @ concerts too like "hands at your side, legs shoulder width apart and I SWEAR TO GOD IF YOU BREATHE AT THE WRONG TIME YOU'RE OUT "

Yep 😋

Every time we start a new song at least five altos turn to the sopranos and in unison go “don’t breathe”. And when we say that, we mean the whole song
Sopranos, higher
Altos, too high, too low
Basses, too high, stop singing the melody
Tenors, wait we be have those?
I'm more inclined to forget the altos exist. Then again, I'm a tenor and when I think alto I usually think P!nk, Adele, Fiona Apple and Lzzy Hale not a slightly lower mezzo.
caligulasArmageddons I am a soprano and I can go all the way up to high So
Kaelan McAlpine are Altos are extremely quiet
Yep
Haha really? We must have a weird choir then. 😂😂 The sopranos are basically worshiped in every way, the altos are _always_ too quiet, the tenors talk too much and the basses are in what my chorus director likes to call “the depths of despair” (really, really, low).
Lol I'm not even in choir I'm in band and thus is halarious.
SAME
I’m in orchestra
Emo not goth
Same. I am in band as well and I am low key confused.
I’m in both
same here coming from a orchestra kid 😂
"I'm just a Baritone, never get the melody!"...
I'm a Tenor but glad I'm not a Baritone(anymore)

As a (semi) late bloomer I'm going from t1 to baritone 😢
OMFG that song is awesome
I went from Soprano (8th grade) to Mezzo with a high range (9th) to a low alto (10th) to an everything (11th) I’ve been known to learn the bass or tenor part and sing with them just because they need help
you probably still are a baritone
Inaccurate. He didn’t pass out after the breathing exercises.
0:49 I can’t tell if this is directed towards the accompanist or if this is how the accompanist talks to the choir. Either way I wholeheartedly agree
C C yes
2:13 As someone who has sung in latin before, this is pretty accurate
Yeah pretty much
Tiger Lily and German and a few others (high school choir)
We’re singing Carmina Burana which is in Latin and old German and it’s hilarious how our choir director makes us pronounce the words.
Same though
Me, as a soprano 1, during ave maria.
Altos love basses
Basses love women
Sopranos love solos
And Tenors love themselves
As a tenor this is shockingly true 🤣😅😭
Lauren Waller lmao sopranos love solos
That’s actually accurate because I’m a soprano
In my choir only one soloist is a Alto.
I'm a bass and I'm gay as FUCK XD
As a choir child, I love how accuarate this is
When you’re an alto singing high and it just increasingly becomes more breathy
I'm in choir, and this is 100% accurate... Okay maybe 95% for the choir I'm in. I'm also a soprano.
I'm totally showing this to my choir teacher 😂
Purple Kae Pineapple I am a soprano 1 I can go all the way up to high So
Chlois Monster I don’t care if no one asked ok
Susie Melirosa what does "all the way up to high" mean though? Lots of notes are considered high
@@ellagalle Ikr 😂

My choir:

Hana Son oh god I’m sorry
when you love being in choir but you hate your singing voice
In choir, you eat sleep and BREATHE the music you’re given.
My choir teacher told me to digest it
Anony McAnonymous good advice. Cuz you need to like understand the music well.
@@funnyferret6064 true
Anony McAnonymous right now we’re doing some pretty tough Christmas music. Every section is getting it well. EXCEPT. THE DAMN. TENORS.
@@funnyferret6064 I just got out of choir (because i'm graduating) but I still get to watch them practice and omg my choir is dying.
Showed this to my choir teacher and she started dying of how accurate this is 😂😂
The breathing exercises and vowels one are so relatable 😂😂😂
Yeah pretty accurate- although all the altos I know are very quiet when we sing-
That one about the vowels was so true though
The Solfege was soooo accurate 💀
My chorus director expects the altos to sing these high soprano notes. 😂
Like I’m an alto for a reason.
As a choir kid myself for many years, this is the most truest thing in the world
Been in chorus since 5th grade...this was so accurate on so many levels
I’m not even in choir but I’m still watching this
All.i.can.say.is.join.choir.
My choir director when he solfegs he sounds like a sim he is so fast
Are these comps how you cope with the start of the semester? 😂
Oh, completely!
when they have you sing foriegn songs:
normal choir kids: ok cool
me: i could be singing satanic rituals and i wouldn't even know
This is my first year in choir and I can already confirm that this is accurate
If this ain't the most accurate thing I've ever seen that describes chorus as a whole... I don't know what is then.
Alto section leader...hilarious and accurate! 😅
Part that is out of my what? Sorry I can't hear you over the sound of my *glorious F#*
I’m sorry I can’t hear you anyways cause my *EARS ARE BLEEDING PROFUSELY!*
man you flexing on us alto 2s

(2:14) we are doing a Latin song when with the key as A flat. I'm an alto and I want to diee
we're doing psalm 150 it kinda sucks for everyone
Relatable
In choir this was the names we used.
Altonians
Suprainians
Tennens
Baroonians
And piano leads
This makes me miss being in high school
Being a choir kid was the best!
As a choir kid, I approve this video.
the section leaders one was so perfect 😂😂
Forget the theatre kids and band kids, it’s the choir kids time
The one about basses, baritones, when the note is out of your range, and the one about vowel exercises got me! This is hilarious!
This is so accurate and this is coming from an experienced multiple choir kids
You now that one kid that sings so loud and is so tone deaf that after choir you feel deaf
This is amazing I’ve been waiting for someone make one of these(for choir)
I haven’t been in choir in 7 years since I graduated HS (had been in choir for nearly 10), and I STILL feel personally attacked at the accuracy of the “alto” part.
What kills me is how ACCURATE this is because in in my school's choir and we do ALL of this!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

As a soprano, the first tenor vine is completely accurate. They get into the upbeat music so much.
That’s exactly how solfege is tho 😂😔
0:42 As a current baritone section leader, I can confirm that this is how I feel 100% of the time.
I have spent 7 years in choir to be a teacher. This gives me life.

this as an outstanding work of art and should be put in a museum solely because of its accuracy
I’m in a show choir and this is surprisingly accurate as it’s pretty much the choir I’m in

I CAN DEFINITELY RELATE AS A SECTION LEADER and soloist.

Fellow Soprano 2's where are you fam?

I was not expecting this to be so accurate 😅
Yes. Completely 1000% accurate. As someone who's been an alto, mezzo, and a soprano. Can confirm
I’m that one soprano that always asks to sing the highest note in the end of the song
I'm that one alto that wants to sing the highest note at the end of a song but isn't allowed to except in school ;-;

The tenor one is so true and they always flex high notes like that xD
the sopranos should have been that screaming kid at the fridge
