You gotta love it! It’s so rare now. Many top companies just trickle out features in planned, small, incremental upgrades without ever going all-out to outdo themselves. Like Apple with iPhones.

Man, I picked up my first gen 1301 right before your first review came out for $750. At the time, the PD I worked for was phasing out patrol shotguns so I had a relatively unlimited supply of federal flight control buck. What a dream that era was
The prices are ridiculous. An M4 is nearly 2k now.
My 1301 looooves flite control 00. 50yd patterns look like most 25yd from other ammo.

@@DrQuagmire1Don’t buy any firearms in Philly, ever shop I’ve ever been to in Philly is crazy overpriced, even on the dog shit cheap guns, the markup is crazy that some of these shops charge. Take a little ride out to Tanners Sports Center, well worth the trip for the good prices and service.

i'm proud of my country when it comes to guns, shotguns expecially. i think we italians are the kings of shotguns, you have no idea how big the shotgun culture is here. aside from benelli, beretta, franchi, breda, there are hundreds of small workshops where artisans just craft exquisite shotguns for all the needs and all the pockets. and you can get an used beretta a300 for as cheap as 50 bucks and it will run no problems and if it dosen't, beretta will still fix it for cheap.

Honestly, I like it. 1301 and A300 are both solid. That pro lifter is 🔥
I love my A300 Patrol. With pro lifter and aluminum upgraded end cap and barrel clamp. The pro lifter is awesome. No downside only upside.
@@MattH-wg7ou How much of a difference does the beveled loading port on the A300 make for you?
@@John1911 moderate to significant but not deal breaker/maker for a decision, if that makes sense. Its noticeably easier for me though.

@@manuelsanchez5028 yessir and it works perfectly! The shell just holds the lifter down and when you shoot it just takes the ghosted shell and doesnt release one from the tube until the next shot, if that makes sense. Then normal ops after that, with the lifter staying up as normal.

Beretta is brillaint. They were able to fill in the gap with the A300! While not as slick or as fast as the 1301, it gets the job done and is reliable with all kinds of ammo! All you can ask for a combat shotgun! If you have the means..grab the 1301 if you feel if you want the absolute best!

I've shot both, have a tricked out 1301. Both are fantastic but if you can afford the 1301 its definitely worth the extra cost. You can easily tell the difference in recoil back to back.

I pick mine up next week in FDE. Was considering the A300 patrol, then decided on the 1301, then couldn’t choose between the regular stock and the pistol grip, then I got an email about the mod2. Ordered it Thursday, got the call Friday it’s in. I’m super stoked.

Hell yes, been waiting for my favorite short shorts reviewer on this one.
They really shoulda put a side sling loop on the stock. Makes no sense to have it on the bottom on a tactical shotgun. The only reason I went with the pistol grip stock was because of the side sling loop.
Agreed. Seems like a really bone-headed move, especially in contrast to all the other fine ergonomic refinements. I wonder how it hangs at rest as configured in the video.
Got mine after I saw your first review at Thunder Ranch. I added the other goods, including the pro lifter. I got mine for under $1000. I’m a still a happy camper and I wouldn’t trade it. I love that thing. It ran flawlessly at a 4 day shotgun coarse at Front Sight.

I've owned quite a few shotguns and I have to admit that my Langdon Tactical 1301 gen 2 is a favorite. I was really impressed. This is my first Tactical shotgun and it's really fun to shoot. I'm planning on taking a shotgun class with it! Great gun so don't make me feel like I need to get the new one!

The a300 is the only shotty I want because of how close it gets and it's only gonna be defensive because it's just too expensive on ammo for a range toy lol. The torture test and reviews you did got me.

The 1301is literally my favorite firearm to date. It's just good in many ways.
I have a 1301 comp pro that I got as soon as it came out several years back. Took forever to find it and get it shipped from California of all places. I LOVE it! Then the thunder ranch video came out and I’ve been wrestling with getting the tactical for a while now.

I got a 1301 tactical pistol grip full capacity from the factory. It's my favorite shotgun I'm not sure that it can get any better

I like the A300 and the 1301, and literally thanks to this channel, I now want either a PX4 LTT or a LTT 92x. I might just be becoming a beretta fan boy now because of James.
Looks promising, I’ll have to check it out. The Gen 2 version that has been out for a little bit might also be a good option.

No one mentions it but a Mossberg 930 can be had for $500. It ghosts loads 9 rounds total. They used to be 399.
The furniture on it is cheap and bulky. It feels very cheap

Well, let me be a devil's advocate and everyone can take my opinion for whatever it's worth to them.
I've had an early 930, an early 940 Tactical, and the A300 patrol.
The 930 worked, but it was a bird gun. It started to sound like a rattle trap abot 1k rounds in and i got nervous and Sold it to fund an over under. The 940 was a train wreck and Mossberg customer support was less than understanding. The only gun that has been trouble free thus far is the A300. Just the experience of one guy who has owned and shot them all. I wouldn't trust the Mossberg. It's a roll of the dice and customer support will leave you hanging in the end.

Been a Beretta fan my whole life and even I cant believe all the amazing innovative and just plain cool stuff they're churning out. That modular bolt action is wicked!

That is a good looking shotgun.
The GG&G tube clamp is worth every penny. Has an mlok to mount a light. (I put a Surefire mini scout on mine) I absolutely love this shotgun

It really is expensive. At that price you're close to Benelli M4 money. I'm sure it's nice but definitely to rich for me.
@@bmstylee And the Benelli M4 didn't pass Garand's freeze test. 2k+ without important upgrades. Find yourself a LT 1301. All the important upgrades that the Mod2 still doesn't have for the same price, maybe less.

The kick-off, at least the basic description you gave it, sounds kind of like the old Heart Recoil Reducers. They were metal cylinders, sealed tight, that contained a mercury solution and ball bearings. The idea being the inertial resistance in the fluid from the bearings would offset a good percentage of felt recoil. Never tried one, but I heard they worked well. You had to either get one of their stocks or have your shotgun stock bored out to accept the tube.
Keep on reviewing shotguns we mortals can't afford here in South Louisiana!! I am still saving up gas money so I can make a trip to Neutral Ground Gun Company and shoot.
Guess I will just have to keep watching all the GREAT! crazy TFB TV gun videos and how all the rich gun geeks live on the south shore !!! You will need that 1301 Mod. 2 going through the Lower Ninth Ward to the range!! There!! I have released all my gun frustrations @ James Reeves on TFB TV!!
I have a Beretta FP 1201 that I got over thirty years ago, new. It still functions flawlessly. I keep it clean. Like AC/DC says, she kept her motor clean and was the best damn woman I have ever seen. I own several Beretta shotguns, fem back in the day to the present, including an ONYX over and under, an A300 sporting shotgun and a Benelli M4. I still like my FP 1201.

However, I do tend to favor my m4 LE.
I have the Benelli M4 also, but this is a worthy rival for sure. Built to a different spec, the Benelli is a tank, the Beretta is a porsche.

i decided to go the m4 route and was able to pick up a L.E. model which i have done some mods too and love that shotgun. i can’t help being envious of watching these 1301 videos and kinda wishing i picked up a early 1301 instead😂😂

Have the A300UP and the 1301. Upgraded the 1301 to a Magpul Zhukov handguard. Prefer it over the A300UP handguard but the A300UP one isn’t bad.
Easily one of the shotguns of all time.

One of the annoyances that I felt with my original Beretta 1301 was what you addressed in this video.. the bite... it was sooo bad... hated it... it put me off from the gun so much... maybe now I can enjoy this gun to its full potential..
Had me going til you said $1800. My $144 Remington 870 came with two barrels. One for hunting and one for home defense. 25 years later and still not one jam.
Sounds like you grabbed one up right before freedom group destroyed whatever quality was left in remington.
Though my dads express pre freedom group is crab compared to his 15 year older wingmaster.
