Holbien does not use Ox Gall, which is why they do not flow. All watercolors have their own specific characteristics. Daniel Smith are known and used for their amazing colors and unusual pigments they source. Sennelier paints from France are used for their layering capabilities. If you don’t paint in layers, you might get frustrated with the light transparent layers. QOR by golden have their own specific flow agent that they created for their paints. They use Aquazol to make their brilliant colors flow across the paper. M.graham is a wonderful professional paint for your studio palette. Do not put it in your travel palette because it will travel and leak everywhere! It has more honey in it than other paints and does not seem to ever dry down hard. There are different brands of paints for the different ways everyone paints.
GRANULATION in watercolor paints is simply when the pigments are larger and do not dissolve as other colors will. They have nothing to do with the colors separating, that is just a beautiful side effect. You must have a lot of water to cause the pigments to float around d and then settle and you will see the granules of pigment settling down as it dries. Also if you are wanting granulation do not use a heat gun or dryer, it ruins it.
I’m so glad you shared your wedding photos! Beautiful and creative and so romantic. Talented woman who brings much joy to everyone she touches. Thanks so much for sharing Kristy. ❤ Warm regards, Martina
I try to watch before the edits if I can't watch live to not miss out on the banter and singing, i sometimes start singing along. I also enjoyed hearing about the wedding business I've been wondering about it for a while.
I enjoyed seeing what the Holbein granulating watercolors do. The indigo and ocean blue were luscious. Loved the 1st 6 that you played with too. Enjoyed your trip down memory lane and your Michael's moment.
That GOLD on that chocolate cherries color.....love love love..... FLATLAYS and STYLESHOOTS------I am a former photographer and did a bit of hand script. I had a few flat lays published, I did a few shoots, I have made dresses, I organized small styled shoots, and 2nd shot a wedding for a photog that got published (a lot of my photos got used, actually.....) that launched her career as well known in magazines.
Ha ha...Jim Carrey is so good. We watched Bruce Almighty a couple evenings ago. Such a long time since we'd seen this film. I had forgotten how really funny, and touching this film was. These Holbein granulating paints look fantastic! But am so new to the watercolour scene. I've been learning about what the Daniel Smith watercolours can and can not do for now. Enjoyed this vid and will reference it for the future, in case I should purchase some Holbein water colour paints.
YIN MIN BLUE is the newest blue color to be created in the past 200 years. It is completely synthetic and was made by accident. Because of this it is 5-10 times more expensive than any other paints. A 5 ml tube is approx $40. USD.
