I've followed JLO since the beginning of her career. I remember when On The 6 came out; I was a little girl and thought she was the most beautiful person I'd ever seen. As a teen, she was my favorite romantic movie actress. Throughout her whole career, I've heard from people who worked with her before her big break, and none of them have nice things to say. But I think where I, as a fan, fell off is when it became obvious that she'd do anything to stay relevant. I've followed JLO since the beginning of her career. I remember when On The 6 came out; I was a little girl and thought she was the most beautiful person I'd ever seen. As a teen, she was my favorite romantic movie actress. Throughout her whole career, I've heard from people who worked with her before her big break, and none of them have nice things to say. But I think where I, as a fan, fell off is when it became obvious that she'd do anything to stay relevant. It's clear because she's not that great of an actor, and it just comes off as disingenuous (e.g., her "dating" Drake only for a single to come out 24 hours later, her collaborating with Ja Rule and saying he told her to say certain words, her relationship with Marc Anthony and her Spanish album... I could go on). How Ant perfectly described it: she's willing to do whatever it take for her career. And I think that mindset has helped her stay relevant for many years, but I think there's so many more talented entertainers who are removing the fourth wall, and just being themselves and it's funnier to watch.
I saw on another reading that JLO literally slept her way to the top and is pissed because other gals slept with the same people and they're getting way more movie roles, deals accolades and she's just not. Hmmm...I wonder way? 😉
