Such a wonderful piece of history. I was at Andrews AFB in 1984 and again in 1986 when this aircraft, 26000, and 27000 were still operational. It was always cool to see the VIP operations first hand and up close at Andrews.
This aircraft first saw service in 1962 for President Kennedy. In November 1963 it took him to Dallas and later that day, on board the same aircraft, LB Johnson was sworn in as the new President. The aircraft was used by Presidents Johnson and Nixon.
the glass facade inside the B707-320 spoils the appreciation of an exhibit . . . especially, if it's a popular sought after exhibit such as the Air Force One . . . instead of all that glass, they could have just posted a couple of armed security guys inside the aircraft . . . their job will be to keep visitors at a distance from all that equipment & relics . . .
I’m proud to have actually worked on repairs for this C-135 based AF 1 in 1978 while it landed at Grissom AFB in route to DC.
its looks very small how did the first family sleep on the plane
Thank you for your service.
It’s a VC-137 not a C-135, two different aircraft. AF1s were modified 707s, C-135s were modified tankers.
beautiful video of the VC-137. also gotta give credit to the lego 747 by BigPlanes!
Too bad about the kids behind you. 😳
Yeah those things should be forbidden on earth 😇
What’s the point of taking them. They don’t appreciate anything at that age.

The 🧮🛁jacuzzi is missing 😮
Is there any Fokker Friendship F-27 Aircraft in this museum please?🙏
No, USAF has never operated them

The last sitting President to use this plane was President Clinton.
Omg, we had no idea
With it being most famous as JFK’s plane it should have been restored to its original interior.

You are clueless
The new Jet has a sand box in it for Joey to play and sleep in.
I thought for a second every station and room on board has it's own bio containment barrier! 😂
Very disappointing. You can tour AF1 at the Reagan Library and they have NO barriers. It takes away from the experience.
Was this the one, Nixon went to China in 1972 in?
No, SAM 27000
Not that much different than what is at the Ronald Reagan Library - minus the kids in the background!😄
Wasn't that SAM 26000 he walked through?
