I don’t comment much but figured I would weigh in (lmaoo) on the scale thing. I am a certified weighmaster in California, my work doesn’t have a cat scale but they all work very similar. They are made for weighing a lot of weight so each cell can only read in increments of 20 pounds. Thats why the race scale is much more precise. The cat scale if similar to my scale at work can weigh up to 240,000 pounds but only measures in 20 lb increments. Also my scale is large and 3 different sections all on one scale. The middle cells read 20 lb heavier than the rest which can be calibrated out (calibrated once a year). Thats my useless little info for the day. Love the channel Sean keep it up.
Weight is extremely important in vehicle performance besides power. Power to Weight ratio mainly determines your acceleration. Power to drag ratio mainly determines your top speed.
Cat scales are generally accurate, but usually just a tad bit heavy. The best part about them is that they’ll go to court for you if you get an overweight ticket as long as the scale ticket says you’re legal.
I just weigh mine at the local landfill its free. Im at 3150 no driver all glass all steel full interior a/c and heat except the cowl hood. Thats with 80lbs of blower and bracket hanging off the nose.
Most truck scale calibrations are set up as 120000x20 lbs. it’s going to round up or down in 20 lb increments. - and it’s calibrated using certified weight . I would trust a cat scale.
As a truck driver I would not be mad if I seen somebody weighing a race car on the scale 🤣 as far as the comment saying a truck driver might be mad if their running out of time on their clock I highly doubt a truck driver would be worried about scaling our load if we running out of time
