    Very good video! 6 years of ndt inspection experience, 4 of which as a level 2 in magnetic particle inspection, fluorescent penetrant inspection, and radiography. I love what I do, especially when I see people's faces when I tell them I am 24! And on my way to level 3 certifications! :)

      Hey Robert, i am interested in NDT and I just graduated in Mechanical Petroelum Engineering. I just wondering if I want to make NDT as my career from where should I start? What certification should I take first? Hope you can help me. Thank you

      Nur zarifah salib Nondestructice Testing is an excellent career. And the world is in need of technicians. The way I got my foot in the door to NDT is I started working at a manufacturing company for airplanes. Then I talked to them and told them I was interested in being an apprentice maybe 2-3 times a week for a few hours in the ndt department. I always recommend everyone to start working at an aerospace company or refinery and ask if they will be willing to train you for ndt a few times a week. It worked for me, and I got the hang of it quickly, they changed my position to a full time ndt inspector apprentice. It took me about 2 years total to get all my certifications, but well worth it. If I were to pick one to start off with, I would say penetrant inspection, or magnetic particle inspection. They're both the most common type, and to me the easiest. It's simple, penetrant inspection is used for surface indications, magnetic particle inspection is used for surface, and near sub-surface indications in ferromagnetic materials. Hope this helps and good luck!

    you are never supposed to spray cleaner directly onto the part. if you do so you risk getting cleaner into any kind on discontinuity therefore the penetrant wouldnt penetrate rendering the method ineffective.

    • @KingHalbatorix
      @KingHalbatorix 7 років тому

      Shane Stoner right, you clean the part by spraying the cleaner onto an identical part next to it and hope the part to be tested gets the right idea and cleans itself
      It's surprisingly common how often people think a cleaning product is supposed to be used on the part being cleaned, but obviously you can clean a part without getting any cleaner on it

    • @frillinho
      @frillinho 6 років тому

      Or maybe he means that the cleaner is sometimes sprayed on to the cleaning cloth and that is used to clean the part, and not onto the part itself to ensure that there isn't excessive cleaning products that can conceal the surface cracks. Notice how he says "indirectly", that doesn't mean cleaner won't get on the part, just doesn''t get sprayed on the part directly.

      @@Josh-fz9rh do you do penetrant testing? If you spray the solvent directly to the piece you risk it getting inside discontinuitys, where it will not dry properly or completely and then can possibly effect the penetrants ability to get into the cracks and bleed out! Which is why any ndt procedure for any company states to apply it to a rag or cloth before use! Im a PT level 3 mate

    The welding method we invent unites the TITANIUM STEEL or ALUMINUM plates on both sides at the same time through robotics.
    We weld both sides with hybrid systems of LASER and wire of contribution or electricity and wire from both fronts at the same time automatic.
    Total welding SYMMETRICAL or asymmetric under inert atmosphere on both fronts.

It really only serves a purpose when inspecting high temperature materials. Stick with fluorescent and wet visible mag for best results!👍
