Also, should have wrestled early on to tire out Illia's arms and used head kicks during the clinch breakups and stayed mostly in the middle distance.
Ilia is from my hometown Alicante, so I was rooting for him. It was really hard though as Volk has been my favourite fighter since the 2nd Holloway fight. Volkanoski has been one of the greatest champions ever.

When Charley olives was champ I always said that that was volks chance to take lightweight belt also. And at the time I reckon he had a very good chance of doing so. I don’t think he’s done and believe he can get his feather back but sadly the time is ticking away. Regardless of if he does or he doesn’t what he has done in the octagon is outstanding. I became your biggest fan the day you dismantled holloway in the 3rd match with him, i loved him too but the way you showed levels to him was extrordinary. Just believe in your skillset, mix it up with ground game, and then piece him down like you always do and surely you will win, just watch out for his speed and keep ur defenses tight. Then he would go for the body and you could counter that with your fast hooks. All the best. I know you are a legend and know everything, just my support and encouragement here :)
