Just got back into collecting. I have about 27,000 cards right now: baseball, football, some basketball. Mostly 1986-92. I just picked up 12 factory sealed sets today locally on Facebook Marketplace. I spent about $170 today and found pages full of Montana, Rice, Elway, Sanders, etc. Definitely exciting! Great content. I subscribed for future vids! I'm still debating on keeping in the family or selling.

Card Shop Owners are shark's! If you don't spend thousands of dollars with them, they will not deal with you. Card shops are the reason why we have Breaks, and the reason why we have Retail Pirates! Great video my friend
Yeah i'm starting to hear about the reputations of the card shop owners. Crazy industry but everyday people (like myself) can build an online brand and hopefully do some breaks for charity next year

A basic question I have is when you purchase a box or pack, is it generally a set amount of generic cards and typically one or 2 better? (like pokemon you get the energy card, 7 or so common/uncommon cards then 2 rare cards).

Agree COMC is the GOAT when you want to buy a specific card. 2010 when I first purchased at COMC and it took 4 months to be delivered in the Philippines but it was worth the wait as I bought the Topps Chrome base of LeBron James chalk toss for $.89, now, its $277.
Buying from COMC via eBay will cost more, so if you don't need the card in the near future, check the price on COMC. It could be 20% less. But if you want the card shipped to you asap, then eBay is fine.
should only buy/sell graded cards on ebay. How can you buy a raw card without seeing it? Seems like a silly choice. Also, I've been doing well buying lots. I'll buy 2-3 psa 10s. Sometimes you can get the value of one card being free. Got 3 Pete Alonso's PSA 10s for $105. Those are worth $70 each

Hi Brad, another good video. I've been catching up on old ones and I have a question about COMC. You mention in some videos that you like COMC because you can see price data. Do you have to pay for the useful data? When I click the price history data it's rather useless - it only shows a tiny bar graph that you can barely get anything useful from and an "N sales up to $xx.xx". I can't see individual sales prices or meaningful trends.
Hey Paul. Yes, the data is not that advanced, but I like seeing how many were sold in a given quarter and when the price peaked. For graded/higher end cards, I always refer to Card Ladder or Market Movers, but that is enough for me to know what times of the year people are buying that card, what was the most it sold for, etc and that's important for me with these inserts and random cards that aren't the top RCs that are very popular.
Are the Tim Horton cards worth building to sale? My wife is like why you keep buying cards when you get coffee when I’m trying to explain to her that I’m resale them as a whole as I collect them
Hey Isaiah. I'd have to check his charts. On COMC, it shows that his Prizm raw #16 RC topped out at $204 in August. I like to buy at $100 or so during a slump. The big question is how great is the condition. If those can be at least PSA 9's with JT having a good season, then you'll be just fine.
Is now a bad time to buy? I'm looking at pulling the trigger on a rare (1 of 75) Luka Prizm card for $7500. I'm just worried that the market is way overinflated right now. I plan on hanging onto this card for several years, so the price I pay today might not matter if it's a long term investment. What do you think?
Personally, I'm buying a ton now because most people don't have the money at the moment and a ton of institutional money is entering the hobby, but I don't believe it's fraction of what it will be. As for this specific card, you better believe Luka is the real deal long term and can live with the fact he may get injured in 2 years and never be the same If you have deep pockets, perhaps it's worth the roll of the dice. If $7500 is a good chunk of what you want to invest, I would player it safer....like Kobe Auto cards.It's up to you, but $7500 for a card that there are 75 of sounds very steep to me
I have similar but have to knock down comc a notch. With their processing times taking 3-4 months and time to ship cards that you actually want to take out taking upwards of 6 months I’m hearing.
@@Trading_cards_and_more yeah but before that service was get in a couple of days. Before 3 weeks to send in cards was close to the 3 weeks. Now it’s 3-4 months and getting longer each day. All there services are taking 3-5 times longer and increasing each day. And I bought a card from them off eBay and it’s been weeks and they haven’t shipped. And reviews say they are taking months to ship eBay buys. They have to get it together or why will people continue to buy with the really bad service times they are providing

Really curious about the extent to which you “cleaned out Beckett”....I’ve bought a ton from a shop in California on there, and when I looked (mid Oct) they were by far the best on their in terms of price and selection. Did I pick up your scraps or did you avoid California shops to avoid tax? Amazing how much higher prices for newly listed cards are...
Hey Garbj. I'm glad you were able to find deals. A lot of times people will complain to me that they can't find anything worthwhile, but they're looking for Patrick Mahomes Optic RCs for 1/2 price. I've bought a few times from Simi Cards, Burbank Sports Cards, and I think 1 other in CA. There are deals, just very few obvious ones.

Burbank is the only shop I’ve bought from on Beckett. Jimmy Butler & AD were still dirt cheap on there during the finals, now not so much. I think JB will go from outcast to fan favorite (started already), the Heat play team bball and will be the most fun team to watch in the East for years to come. Bought lots of other players too but loaded up on those two, which were priced substantially below market $ at the time and more so now. Thoughts on JB, Heat? Thanks again
Also flea markets the one near me has bulk cards sometimes because people just rent a spot and sell random stuff you can find really good deals on bulk or singles
from my personal experience i like myslabs, 1% fee and no tax unless seller lives in the same state, some sellers can be more open to negotiations, i got some of my best deals on there, they only sell sealed wax or graded cards only, also be careful buying ungraded singles at your local lcs, my local lcs only sells cards they fell won't grade a 9 or 10,

hey JazzNo2. Yeah, I feel like everyone's biggest complaint with COMC is how insanely backlogged and slow they are. It's painful to say the least!

EBAY! All the different stores on Ebay. I haven't had any issues buying on ebay but I can see how selling would be a problem.
True ived orders about 1000 packages and o only had two small losses but got refunded...Buy from experienced sellers with really good ratings
