    Negotiating a Better World
    Jeffrey Sachs
In his lecture at the festival Tage der Transformation 2022, special advisor to the UN Secretary-General on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Jeffrey Sachs, creates an arc encompassing the great transformations in human history. These have triggered crises that are increasingly difficult to control due to constant acceleration in recent decades. In the face of the climate catastrophe and the Russian attack on Ukraine, Sachs warned against the power of humans to “end all life” and made a passionate plea for open interaction and negotiations. With reference to the Cuban Missile Crisis, Sachs repeatedly referred to J.F. Kennedy and his appeal to use humanity’s new possibilities to end poverty instead of endangering the lives of billions.
Jeffrey Sachs is an US-American economist and special advisor to the UN Secretary-General on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The goal of the 2017-Globart Award-winner is to combat poverty and implement a sustainable global economy with international diplomacy.

Speaking of NATO: Please don't forget: The first NATO operation without a UN mandate (quite controversial: due to international law) in Serbia in 1999. Another point: Ways of thinking and acting of important American personalities: In the work of 1957 by Morgenstern (respected scientific economist and military adviser , also involved in the two atomic bombs mentioned) describes in it the military strategy of how NATO can and must be brought closer and closer to the Soviet Union: Even if it only succeeds in 1000 years (literally): it's all just a matter of time : It will succeed in keeping the Soviet Union in check: from the outer borders as well as from the internal infiltration. So, who was up to what, how and why back then shows some parallels (who is evil, who is good, who is threatening whom, who is moral, who respects human rights and international law) when it comes to today: In today's situation of war between Russia and Ukraine. And things will only get really interesting for the future: namely when China is on the screen and comes into focus. If then dialogue, diplomacy, understanding, listening to one another, wanting to understand one another, and not wanting to fully include historical connections, well then things get really serious.

What a great speech! He gets to the point. Our politicians worldwide should follow the advices of man like him. Unfortunately his view to the future doesn´t seem to be well as he says our systems are not calibrated to manage the huge problems we have. And he affects me real desperately. Despite this I hope that such very smart voices are heard by a lot of people in the nearly future which demand a change in global policy for a better world.

The US is never going to change. unfortunately. But what mind-boggling is the Europeans especially the Germans and French who used to play a much more constructive role between the US and Russia which largely helped prevent a cold war from becoming a hot one until today. The single most important reason is that the Europeans have abandoned their long standing semi independent foreign policies and become a total pupet of the US. The fact the German leaders would not say a single negative word toward the Americans despite the mounting evidence that points the US is either directly involved or indirectly supported the bombing of Nordstream II says everything about Germany's current devastating situation.

@@mikef6399 I completely agree. It´s a disaster we have no public dispute in Europe and the western hemisphere about we can bring together different interests of several countries with various social systems and to accept the position of the other one as noteworthy. It is urgently necessary to create independent European politics. But for that at the moment there is no light at the end of the tunnel, it´s horrible. Although many common people I talk with are thinking like Prof. Sachs so that give me a little hope for a change. But it will be a long term goal. May be we don´t have enough time for it.

JFK also said in a speech,
‘….we must face the fact that the United States is neither omnipotent nor omniscient - that we are only 6 per cent of the world's population and that we cannot impose our will upon the other 94 per cent of mankind - that we cannot right every wrong or reverse each adversity, and that, therefore, there cannot be an American solution to every world problem.’
That was a speech with great wisdom. It is also true of the UN. 8B people on planet earth, they (sovereign nations)all have to take care of themselves. Attempting to build the Tower of Babel, never ends well….even if the great Jeffrey Sachs were to be in charge.

Erasmus Darwin (1731/1802), famous English physician and philosopher, grandfather of the evolutionist Charles Darwin:: «In my travels through the vast Spanish empire, I have been amazed at how the Spanish treat the Indians: as equals, even forming families mestizos and creating hospitals and universities for them. I have known indigenous mayors and bishops, and even soldiers, which results in social peace, well-being and general happiness, which we [the British] would like in the territories that with so much effort we are taking from them. Democratic Britain? Spain had courts 60 years before they were copied by the English pirates who enslaved the Scots, the Welsh Briton and the Irish. And I have a surprise for you: the system of election of Deputies and the US courts were based on the model of the Direct Democracy of SPAIN, Bernardo de Gálvez and other Spaniards won the main battles in the war of independence of the 13 colonies of the savages racists of the East. And José de Gálvez planned and prepared the political system of the United States, Washington did not win a battle or plan ANYTHING. and the currency was the SPANISH DOLAR, THE REAL OF EIGHT, EL REAL DE A OCHO.
