- Bridgewater Associates founder Ray Dalio sits down the "CBS This Morning" co-host Charlie Rose to discuss his understanding of the way the economy works, as well as his philosophies and how he puts them to work in his company and his life.
I hate people like that reporter thinking everyone owns him everithing stop crying cause your job don't pay 100 million a year like some hedge fund managers.
Rays culture works. The employees are so thankful and grateful for the communication skills they have learned. Ray is awesome!
Really terrible interview from a guy that was more interested in manufacturing controversy than learning anything. Watch Ray's video and see for yourself. He's where he is today because he's a smart guy and he knows what he's talking about.
Dustin Haning I posted this above, but I would put the same query to you:
I thought the interview, though challenging, should stand as a means of
showing that Dalio is willing to lend himself the same transparency he
expects. While I may not agree with either of the men on all points,
wouldn't it be hypocritical to denigrate someone for holding a man, one
who prizes accountability, accountable?
+The World I Know I think Ray was a bit too defensive, but Charlie's questions were pretty good, as always.
Ray just wants to EVOLVE. That's why he put out this video of how the economic machine works. He says its done as an act of altruism. What amazing thing, coming from such a rich person.
It is obvious who has the ego problem here.. the interviewer's face is full of darkness
Can someone please tell me where can I find the full interview?
Can someone let me know the name of the video to look it up?
Clifford McEachin Search for Ray Dalio Economy in UA-cam and it will come up.
he looks like saul goodman lol!
better call Saul....
This was the nerd in high school who was always picked on. This was the guy who every girl never paid attention in school. Today he is a billionaire and now he is the bad guy? This is the problem with today's liberal media. People seem not to understand how hard it is to get to this level. How much treason, you have to go through. All the money you had to invest in education and yourself to gain knowledge. All of the rejections and failed interviews you had to go through to get to this level. And now we are the bad guys cuz we did in our lifetime, things that other made the choice not to. A man or woman who made their wealth... meaning they are self-made success stories deserve much more respect than what this clueless interviewer is giving this man.
story of my life
Shut up Bulgarian lol
Asking the uncomfortable questions others don't dare to ask is what makes a good reporter
4:05 - 4:15
That's what got Dalio to where he is today!
you guys could include a link to that bridgewater video lol
did you find it?
I'm here after reading Rob Copeland's "The Fund".
The Video they talk about is fantastic watch that instead of this interview. Much more wisdom.
Charlie couldn't fathom someone wanted to give back without getting something in return.
It just shows that sadly Charlie is still bitter and not happy to how far he has gotten.
Ray is on another level he realized he can't go much further there are no more mountains to climb or lands to conquer , that's why he talks about friends and family cause truly those are the most important things when you have everything , but when you have nothing too those are the important things .
Knowledge workers in higher demand, but parents, schools, teachers and central government meddling are reducing that supply...
Interviewer acts like he is13 but looks like he could drop dead any minute..
This guy is a little creepy but he's an investing genius, no doubt. His success proves it.
How’s he’s creepy bro haha?
Who the f**k is that reporter?!!!
It's Charlie Rose, one of the most known presenters in television. Btw I wonder how macro funds like BW have fared given the near sustained upward momentum of the last 5 years. Many funds have folded or are struggling.
+gmshadowtraders Not doing too great currently in some ways.
Listen, YES!!!
Says it all Charlie. Not all Hedge Funds Founders are Ray!!! He is not Coy - He is real Ray Dalio! I don't know whether I dislike Charlie or I like the Ray's Candor! Latter!!!
I just herd on npr that Saudi Arabia has 4 trillion dollars in oil. Are hedge funds new?
Define "new"
Capacity challenges. Big is bad for capital gains.
why's he so defensive? his net worth is $15.4 billlion. shit if i have that much money everything i say must be right
Shot ill be bill gates an be passed if some bitch disrespects me on tv
Ray is saying that there is a difference between ego and confidence 👨but he didn’t get it done ☑️
Charlie Rose is one of the greatest journalists alive with very high intelligence. When two very intelligent minds meet they often clash, then understand each other. The fact some of you thought Charlie was attacking Ray's integrity is evidence you don't understand how great people converse
Exactly, I enjoyed this rather candid exchange between them. And clearly, Ray didn't mind it too much otherwise he would've just left. These are good questions to ask, especially when you're in a room with a guy like Ray.
Income Inequality mostly not because of technology itself. Because of Capitalism, capitalism makes bad redistribution of wealth that makes income inequality. Not technology, technology is an one of the production factor and having a less effect of making income inequality.
+Muhammad Daffa Your're probably one of the biggest idiots I have seen in the history of all youtube comments. Congrats!
+pckramer98 thanks! yeah, i would probably knew that using of technology probably will end for unemployment. But, capitalism is one of the problem for income inequality. We need an intervene for government too. To lead well the free market. But thanks for your opinion!
Ironically, he seems to get incredibly angry when former employees speak out their TRUTH about him.. It appears that TRUTH is decided by Mr. Dalio.. speak out against him, and face his wrath (see his LinkedIn posts)
Toy cars rule the world.
Well then, give me money to help me expand my businesses and to help my fellow man.
Instead of listening to him the liberal wants to argue
haha thats the way cbs interview every guy
nice
the fuck. the guy looks like the bad guy from call of duty advance warfare.
Jeopardy spreads like wildfire.
ironic how ray dalio calls it personal evolution
how do you find that ironic?
I UNDERSTAND YOU SIR!!!
THEY ALL MISUNDERSTAND US!!!
THEY SAID THE SAME THINGS ABOUT ME!!!
Borrowing from Mother Jones, 'When you see a rich man you can be sure whatever he has in his pockets used to be in the pockets of that poor man standing behind him.'.
I hate Charlie Rose, I think he's the worst interviewer ever. THis short clip confirmed it for me. Not sure where he gets his sick ego from.
If my former hippy was here I'd say Dalio operates from the heart chakra while Charlie is stuck at the solar plexus.
A billionaire cleansing his conscience, better late than never I suppose.
Here is the thing.... you left out a very important word. Self-made; okay? This man is a self-made billionaire. Just to clear the air. Second of all, he has no reason to clear his mind, his mind is already cleared due to the millions of dollars he has multiplied for investors and the jobs he has created in the industry. How have YOU been clearing your mind? Let's talk about you buddy.
How this interviewer doesnt know how to phrase the word ego
This interviewer makes it seem like Dalio is a criminal
But if the ones who are watching are smart, then they'll know which is which ;)
"mostly a function of tech in the workplace" typical rich folk undermining of the middle class. Do you know how hard my mom works? my sister? get a life Dalio
Maisam Naqvi he’s not undermining
You don't understand his point. When you have technology that vastly improve productivity, there is less of a need to hire a lot workers which means they are more replaceable leading to lower wages, whereas the big corporations are enjoying the huge boost of productivity
Quincy Adam exactly man, everyone gets so upset but the facts are the facts
wtf is this ,
Horrible interview, Interviewer was completely awful
