This video shows a real representation of Kobe's entire game. He wasn't just a scorer. He was a great passer, great facilitator, a great leader, a great defensive player, a coach on the court, and his knowledge of the game was as vast, and extensive as anyone could ever get at their profession of choice. He understood the flow of the game itself. That's why he could miss his first 6 or 7 shots in the first half, not sweating it at all, and then hit 9 of his next 10 shots when it really mattered in the second half, and the 4th quarter. All Kobe cared about was keeping the game within reach to have a chance to win at the end, or trying to keep a lead. He knew that the first 3 quarters of the game mean little as long as the game is within 10 points or less going into the 4th quarter. Kobe would often use the first half of competitive games to download information on what he could get away with against certain matchups, and defensive rotations, then he would come out and turn up the dial against his opponents during the second half. There were also a lot of games where Kobe was so dominant offensively from the start that he wouldn't even play the 4th quarter if the Lakers were ahead big on the scoreboard. That 81 point game was not an anomally. Kobe could have had 4 or 5 80 point games in his career, but he didn't care about stats. He only cared about winning the game, and winning championships. Kobe was a basketball genius. He could turn his scoring on and off almost at will, and even in the rare cases when his shot wasn't falling, he would effect the game in so many different ways that he could still be the most impactful player on the court. That's why he had 5 rings, and that's why Kobe is far better than any player since MJ left the Bulls in retirement in 1998/1999. Nobody has met that standard that MJ set for the Guard/SF positions other than Kobe Bryant.

It was not just Kobe, this whole squad was such a good team and fun to watch too. They had some great chemistry because they kept their core together for quite a few years and then added good pieces over time to it, like Gasol, Ariza, and Fisher and they played with an urgency after loosing to the Celtics in the final that year before. To me they were one of the best Lakers squads of all time.
It was literally just Kobe and the gang non of these players are allstars not odom not fisher, not Farmar, not shannom brown. Only borderline star is Pau Gasol who was just an allstar caliber player. The most underrated part of Beans game is his handle. That and his ability to shoot 3’s either catch and shoot or off the dribble, man him pretty much unstoppable. He’s doing this against all defensive team players. Plus Bean played in an era that had the hardest defenses. Field goal percentages where historically low in this era

Such a perfectly constructed team. Not a weak link in the roster. Kobe was absolutely killing it during this time, the fact he didn’t win an mvp this year was highway robbery. Kobe played in the absolutely stacked western conference, Lebron had a great year too but the East sucked outside of 3 teams.
Lebrons team record was 66 and 16. Even in the west that’s the 1st seed . Lebron lead that Cavs team in points, rebounds, steals, and blocks and assist.

Now I don't even watch it anymore like I used to.
kobe my favorite all time basketballer he is the reason i started watch basketball
Me too
It was not just Kobe, this whole squad was such a good team and fun to watch too. They had some great chemistry because they kept their core together for quite a few years and then added good pieces over time to it, like Gasol, Ariza, and Fisher and they played with an urgency after loosing to the Celtics in the final that year before. To me they were one of the best Lakers squads of all time.
They need to add this squad in 2K
It was literally just Kobe and the gang non of these players are allstars not odom not fisher, not Farmar, not shannom brown. Only borderline star is Pau Gasol who was just an allstar caliber player. Im 30 so I remember vividly Gasol wasn’t no KG, Dirk, Howard, Yao, Z-Bo or Duncan. He was just not a trash player or typical role player like the rest of the Lakers.
@@koolkai4299. They put them in the game for Mamba Moments but not for actual player control 🤦🏽♂️
@@Spider-Complexion a damn shame
@@Spider-Complexionfacts the hate on Kobe is real. Meanwhile lebron has like 4 teams at least. They know that 2008-10 Kobe would’ve made 2K players (younger generation) be like “Oh shit Kobe might’ve been better than Lebron because look at what he can do on the court compared to Lebron” basically a slightly worse version of MJ.
man i still miss kobe been 4 years since his death and i still come back n watch these highlights :/
I don’t like what mark jackson said that kobe would try to get 50. He was actually never selfish. His teams just relied on him a lot to score. He was a champion at 21 for a reason
He was a champion at 21 cuss of shaq.... an kobe was selfish.... an that's ok. That was his game. An it worked.
@@ClapyoEarstogether I seen plenty of mvps in my life and none of them brought 7 team members on a talk show like kobe. When kobe won the mvp he called up his teammates and acknowledged their contribution. I can name a lot of things that he did that proved he wasn’t selfish but of course you’re an average beta male with no ambition or drive so you will never get it
@@ClapyoEarstogetherHe wasnt selfish he was best scorer on his team and avreged 4 asists as a sg
@@westside-qe3yqthat’s terrible, Kobe was the primary ball handler only averaging 4 assist a game. Stop saying as a shooting guard Kobe was not the traditional shooting guard, he was the primary ball handler, not a spot up shooter, he was the main scorer, not a 3 and d guy who could knock down shots.
@@Dookie4546 Actually Kobe avreged 5-6 asists per game in his prime as SG.He was not pg like Lebron, and like you said he was best scorer on his team and first option offcorse he would have less asists, and he always took the last shoot not passing it.
why I felling 2009 just like yesterday!!!!
I KINDA WISH it WAS haha!!!!.
As a die hard Lakers fan I knew the inevitable…Kobe was purely and simply not going to be stopped that year.
Great video. Kobe was unstoppable. 4th Ring and first finals mvp. Do it again 2010.
Rip: Kobe, Bill Russell, David Stern and Stuart Scott.
This was apart of him (Kobe) damn near three-peating post Shaq. After those years was when I knew he was the 2 or 3rd best player ever. Whenever MJ is Kobe is behind him.
Theres no way ppl say lebron is more skilled than kobe. Let alone better than kobe. Kobe game is so beaitful to watch
Also, the "Lebron makes his teammates better" narrative should stop!
@@voltjutsu completely
Why is Lebron always brought up in the comments of a Kobe video?
@@StressedOutJimmy because mainstream media and his fan base claim that Kobe is overrated and that just simply ludicrous to basketball fans.

what amazes me is his off ball game and his ability to be kobe in a team system. It's truly remarkable cus most people don't think of kobe as a great off ball player. You watch him moving that ball and even scoring without wasted motion.
Mannn!! I'm so glad I got to see Kobe play. Then I read all these people claiming Lebron is the best but honestly, Kobe gave his heart to the game, played most of the seasons and instead of being fragile and sensible like Lebron, he'd comeback with a better game the next day. R.I.P. Kobeeee😢😢
shiiit bro Kobe AND Magic are better than Lebron in my book. They both have more rings too. Once the recency bias fades, things will get back to normal lol

MJ is 1, but I understand how you feel
I thought Kobe was GREAT, but after watching this whole playoff and Finals again I realise he is GREATER than what I thought.
Went to the 2009 parade wit the homies at the L.A. coliseum. It was scorching that day. Sweating bullets, got a parking citation, almost got into a fight with some cholos but well worth it. Wish I still had the flicks from that day smh
I remember the 2010 win on TV with my family, seeing Kobe run to the other side of the court with the ball, and how my neighborhood in the valley was going wild. People were outside their houses waving Lakers flags and a bunch of honking from drivers. Every radio station was celebrating the Lakers winning. The riot in LA happened. 😂
I’ll never forget that moment. Really good time for LA and especially with beating Boston
The greatest of all time the mamba
Ahhh 2009 kobe my most favorite version of him...unlike his 2003 version which is raw athletic and 2006 monster scoring...2009 version was just the wisdom at its apex...not so explosive in scoring but just unleash the right scoring and involves teamates..not very athletic but utilising footwork and postmoves to fool opponents 🐍🐍🏀🏀
2003 was also his defensive peak
needed this
Yo Yessir Dawg
Kobe, in his 13th year, played all 82 games for 2 seasons straight. Both years he played 20+ games into the playoffs, and played for Team USA. Load management wasn't even an option for that man. Savage 🔥
Kobe was a whole different beast..... I miss him.... Rest in peace Kobe and Gigi.
That game 4 in Utah was absolute perfection. He mastered the triangle, the game. I honestly think Kobe had parts of his game that were better than MJ but you cant say that or people look at you like your crazy but his shot making, foot work, 3 point shooting all just incredible
It’s universally accepted that Kobe has a better shot than MJ
Thank you so much for this video 🙏 brings back such good memories
"You get Open Looks of great Play" the best words ever 👏
All I gotta say is, thank you FreeDawkins for still preserving the footage you do, despite getting taken down years ago by the NBA. A Kobe Bryant dialed in, is the greatest basketball player to have ever played. In an era with no all stars, the highest defensive rating across all the teams in NBA history, he still got his two rings.
Yup DEFINITELY!!!!. DAT WAS FOR SURE!!!!.
My brother favorite player rest easy Kobe
Man, am I glad you included Kobe's press conference after Game 2 of the Finals! "Job's not finished" is one of the things I think of from this portion of his career.
2009 Kobe was my favorite Kobe 😅
GOAT… best overall skilled basketball player on both sides of the ball ever.
He’s become severely underrated. He’s easily a top 5 player to ever play the game and if you don’t think so you’re just lying to yourself.
Thank you for this, we all miss him so badly.
God bless you.. for this GOLD content.. one of the greatest playoff runs.. he was SO happy to get his first without Shaq.. ❤😂
Absolutely Awesome video ! Seriously well done.

Thanks!! One of the best videos I seen on UA-cam 💪🏾
give this Kobe all day every day over everybody , Mamba
Kobe was special
Such a perfectly constructed team. Not a weak link in the roster. Kobe was absolutely killing it during this time, the fact he didn’t win an mvp this year was highway robbery. Kobe played in the absolutely stacked western conference, Lebron had a great year too but the East sucked outside of 3 teams.
Lebrons team record was 66 and 16. Even in the west that’s the 1st seed . Lebron lead that Cavs team in points, rebounds, steals, and blocks and assist.
@@Dookie4546 It’s easier to get 60+ wins against scrub teams like the Pistons and Pacers than the Suns and the Mavericks at the time. Kobe should’ve gotten MVP
@@KentuckyWaterfall13 no he shouldn’t have, you don’t understand how conferences work, just because lebron is in the east doesn’t mean he is playing less comp in the regular season 🤣
@Dookie4546 LeBron is just an illuminati member. That is why they're brainwashing all viewers that he is great. But in reality, LeBron is mediocre.

Kobe 2009 finals series it’s his best finals plus he won FMVP
I'd put Kobe over Jordan at the 2 guard I've always believed Kobe was a better shooter than Jordan. I'd probly want Jordan at my point over Magic but still just watching Kobe he has to be the greatest shooting guard of all time.
That’s fair coming from a Jordan fan. Also Jordan averaged a triple double while playing the point guard for 11 games
I’ve always thought that Kobe was definitely better from 3 than MJ, and it’s also the kind of 3’s that Kobe could hit, that I never saw Jordan hit.
Imagine Jordan shooting more 3s
A better outside shooting? Probably, the era also demanded it.
But overall? Jordan was WAY more efficient shooter from midrange, post, fadeaway and at finishing. And Jordan is better at literally everything else, how tf only shooting matters lmao

When players collapse to help, THAT’S the spacing. Basketball 101
@@rockysalvatore435 That 98 team was worse than these Lakers teams. MJ never had centers like gasol or bynun. Odom was better than kukoc.
