- Welcome to Stavanger, Norway: www.lifeinnorway.net/stavange...
Although known as the oil capital of Norway, Stavanger is much more than just a hub for energy industry execs. Located on Norway’s southwestern coast, Stavanger serves as an ideal base for exploring the Lysefjord, including those venturing to the iconic Pulpit Rock.
Yet there’s plenty going on in the city itself to interest the curious traveller. From the historic district of white, wooden houses, to the street art that brightens up downtown, here are some of the best things to do in and around Stavanger.

Very good video! Stavanger is one of Norway's oldest cities, it was founded in 1125!
Thanks! And thanks for watching :)
Thanks for this nice video! One of our favorite activities was to walk to the pretty little beach at Vaulen. We lived in Stavanger for one happy year and our little child loved to play at that beach. Sola, as you mention in the video, is also a wonderful beach but we enjoyed our little walk to Vaulen so much we rarely went out to Sola beach.
There's so many good beaches in the region to choose from! Thanks for watching :)
I been there 5 times in my Life ,,, wonderful !!
I hope you will visit again! Thanks for watching 🙌
I like the Silver Mountain or Solvberget Library, and the University Library very much, and enjoy browsing and borrowing books from there. I like attending concerts in Stavanger's Konserthus, and visiting the Elephant Theatre or Elefantteateret with my little granddaughter. I like walking around Breiavatnet, Mosvatnet, and Stora Stokkavatnet, and discovering the charming sculptures standing all around.
Sounds as if you know the city very well!
The cathedral is amazing inside. When we were there in 1996 we got to hear the choir practicing. It was a transcendent moment.
It will be interesting to see once the renovations are complete. Thanks for watching! 🙌

Your comment made me proud that I'm from here, thank you :) You should come and visit one day for sure.
Great video! Which shuttle is it that takes you from Stavanger to the trailhead for Pulpit Rock?
I think it’s from the company called Go Fjords, but there may be other option too. Thanks for watching! 🙌
